A real gem

This property is a real gem in the pool of South Padre Island rentals. You get great personal attention as compared to the agencies out there. We had a great time during our June stay. You can see and hear the ocean from his balconies and the BBQ pit was huge. My family and I cooked up some great fajitas on that pit! Efrin is a real nice guy and is a pleasure to deal with – and he keeps his place clean, shows you all the amenities at check in, and his rates very competitive. I have recommended him to my coworkers.
We stayed with him again this past month (October) for bike week and had a wonderful time. The boys loved his fancy satellite TV with all the football games on it too.

Happy with Sandals Beach House

My sister's family and my family vacationed together and we really enjoyed Sandals Beach house. We stayed Wed - Sunday. We rented both units of the beach house duplex and really felt at home. The beach house is within walking distance to the beach, it is in a quiet neighborhood and very accessible to the main strip at South Padre. We walked to the beach everyday, we bar-b-qued twice during our visit and enjoyed eating breakfast at home everyday. We did have a small ant problem in both kitchens but once Efren was notified, he provided us with ant spray. (No ants our last 2 days) I would recommend Sandals Beach house to anyone who wants to experience a home away from home vacation. We're already planning our visit for next year.

Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay as I take great pride in my property.
Just for clarification, sugar ants were identified in the kitchen and I did offer to have my pest company come in and do a treatment, but was notified that it was not necessary. Ant spray was requested and provided. Immediately after Lupitas checkout my Pest Control Company did come in and provide a treatment to remediate the sugar ants. None have been detected since.

Wonderfual Vacation

We stayed here in July with another family and absolutely had the best time. My husband and I stayed in a hotel several years ago in South Padre and I think this was so much better. We cooked out on the huge grill every evening and the house is so close to the beach. The house is also, very clean. Loved it. We will definately be staying here again.

This was our first time staying in South Padre and we had a great time. The beach house is very close to the beach, very well maintainedand clean. Efren was very nice and accommodating. I will definitely stay here again!

Pure fun! Home-away from Home. Efren's beach house was the perfect setting for our family vacation. Our two kid's enjoyed the beach in the morning, slept during the peak temperatures of the day then returned to the beach in the afternoon for more swimming or a walk on the best beach in TX. All of the amenities that you need are provided. The property is maintained very well, clean and the neighborhood is very quiet throughout the day and night. I would recommend Kayaking in the bay if you have an opportunity as you will probably see dolphins and sea turtles in their natural setting. Overall, I would highly recommend this rental. The owner is a perfect host and will provide you with plenty of ideas for your stay on the island. We will definitely be repeat clients in the future.

Our stay at Sandalz Beach House, 2008/09 was a wonderful expierence for Gerry, Betty & Dusty, and have booked back in for another wonderful Winter away from all that cold wind/snow up north.
With free phone service throughout North American , pluss some Other Countrys that don't come to mind at the moment helped us get through the three months being away from Family.
Our neighbors next door where wonderful, and we feel the landlord, Efren Salazar screens his tenants well , so we feel you will be as lucky as we where .
A very quiet street, and only a two minute walk to the Beach where we relaxed and felt so very safe. The Police keep an eye open for all of us sun bathers/ walkers, so no worries there.
After a big day at the Beach , if your a tv's buff like us , you have two tv's to help entertain yourselves, pluss great music off the Direct system.
Very comfortable bed rooms & Living room for a winters stay.
If you pass on Sandalz Beach House it's your loss.
A very warm , curtious Family owns this home away from home , and we can't wait till we stay on the Island at Sandalz.

Just wanted to say that my stay on South Padre Island was wonderful. My family had been planning this getaway for a year and we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Thanks again, Efren! Black Beards was an excellant choice for seafood and its within walking distance from the beach house. With the beach around the corner, grocery store a few blocks away, what more do you need! Thanks again for the stress free week!

My family and I have been going to S. Padre for a number of years and staying in a high rise condo. We thought we would try something different this year. This was so much better! For the money you can't do any better than this! Efren was awesome. Very helpful and courteous. The location couldn't be better either. Convenient to everything. We are definitely coming back!

Where is my security deposit?

Nice accomadations and had a good time. We loved the island. Efrin was nice and helpfull, but did not return security deposit. Never called and said why. After almost 2 months I called him and he said their was extra cleaning charges and he would get back to me with a break down of the charges. He never got back to me.We came as a family not spring breakers and the place was left clean. We have reservations at another place to stay for feb. '09.
Owner's Response: Unfortunately, a member of Brandon's family left a roast on in the oven and proceeded to leave the unit for sermon. The result was a smoke filled unit. I was on premises a short time after the incident and the smell of smoke could be smelled outside the unit - Brandon said they "had it under control" so I thought nothing of it - figuring they could open a window and it would air out.
As explained to Brandon over the phone after the damage assesment:
Smoke remediation alone exceeded the $200 deposit. Smoke remediation was done for 3 days, air ducts were cleaned, and carpet cleaning was also needed.
Further, the tennants that were due to arrive after Brandon's stay were not able to check in and enjoy the unit due to all the work that was required. I immediately refunded their money and they had to find another place to stay. This was a very unfortunate situation as the family had been planning this reunion for some time.
Most of my comments are on my website blog. But I have just encouraged past tennants to leave reviews on my Beach Home on this site so as future renters may receive a more objective perspective other than this one bad situation.
I provide a clean, affordable, family oriented rental and encourage you to call me at any time and discuss any concerns or needs.
