Worst Experience

Property management lied about damage made to property and refused to pay the refundable deposit back. When asked to show proof of damage, refused to show any kind of proof or list of damages. This is my worst experience renting a vacation home.
Owner's Response: There is no reason we would have held the deposit unless the claims were verified, this is the first case in 2 years where the deposit was not returned to the client. Unfortunately the guest tried to file a complaint with another agency claiming he had never heard of the cabin and didn't know what it was. Again the reason a deposit is required is to fix damages done while staying there. The only reason the deposit was not returned is because it was needed to fix damages done so other clients may enjoy the house as intended. It is unfortunate that the situation has gotten as far as a complaint, and hopefully this clears the air.

I just wanted to thank you so much for the use of your home. It is absolutely beautiful and had everything we could have possibly needed. There is a ton of snow up there now which made it even more enjoyable

Just got back from a wonderful time at this vacation home. Everything was great and the perfect setting to get away and relax. This house is away from it all but still close to lots of things to do. We enjoyed the seclusion and peacefulness of the wooded area and even had several elk within feet of the property for a couple of days. We made a trip to the GC about an hour away. We went to Sedona which is about an hour away and well worth the drive. We also went to Sunset Crater NP which included Wuptaki NM which everyone really enjoyed (less than an hour drive) Flagstaff with groceries, stores, etc. was about 20 minutes away. The house was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

We rented the cabin the last week of June into July this summer. I took my family of 7 to Malcom's cabin near Flagstaff. We had an AWESOME time while there; plenty of bedrooms for everyone and a nice kitchen for cooking meals. The cabin is located west of Flagstaff off I-40 near the Parks exit right off a section of Old Route 66. We loved it, because the cabin is on 5 acres at the end of a dirt road, secluded and quiet (we saw elk every day on or right behind the property up on the hill; lots of open space). Flagstaff gets VERY busy in the summer, but this was far enough away that is was very peaceful, no traffic and relaxing. The cabin had everything we needed and even some items we did not expect, like multiple good flashlights with new batteries that we used to explore the Lava Cave about 10 miles from the cabin off a forest road (free and very neat; kids loved it). For the kids there is also the Deer Farm just down Route 66 to the west a few miles + Williams is only a 10-15 minute drive (were the Grand Canyon train departs). Right behind Williams up the road is a small family owned ski area that has a summer sledding run that is fun for the kids + their are quite a few lakes in the area. And, don't miss driving up to the Snowbowl ski area in the summer for the chairlift ride to the top of the San Francisco Peaks (highest mountains in Arizona). We also did lots of mountain bike riding and hiking near the cabin or plenty of forest trails nearby (try Kendrick Peak north of the cabin 15 miles). We would definitely recommend this cabin to other families.

My family and I stayed at this Cabin Feb. 23-25, 2008. We were very impressed with this cabin. The owner was very reliable to answer any question we had. We had a snow sled run just outside the cabin door. This cabin sits on top of hill, very secluded. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a wonderful, peaceful, and week of relaxation.

We rented this home Presidents Day weekend, 2008. We had an absolute blast. The house is in a terrific location, trees all around. It was very peacefull. The house was great, everything that we needed was there (including games and even kids sippy cups, plates and cups). We would rent this house again in a heart beat. One thing to note: The 4th bedroom is above the garage and only accessible by a outside staircase at the back of the house. So you have to go outside to get to the room. Didn't bother us as we didn't need the extra space.
Owner's Response: You can also get to the 4th bedroom/Loft inside the garage, there is a pull down stairs. Which is right outside the coat room.
