centrally located

My wife and I spent our delayed honeymoon here last November and thoroughly enjoyed it. The apartment was clean, comfortable and centrally located. The managers were accommodating and genuinely friendly. We enjoyed exploring on foot for nearby shopping and dinning; we are big fans of the many nearby street side cafes! And when it was time to get in a taxi, most sights were within a ten minute ride. The location couldn't have been more perfect! I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone staying in Buenos Aires!

Located in the "soho" of Buenos Aires, the owners have impressively restored this spacious apartment above and beyond. Everything was there that we needed and more. The layout of the apartment gave each of us the opportunity to have our own space, yet come together in the open space. The kitchen is world class.

The other really good thing about staying at this apartment was the support we received from the owners. They generously gave us suggestions about seeing the "off the beaten path" Buenos Aires which made this vacation among the best we have ever had.

We highly recommend renting this apartment.

The Best Place to stay in Buenos Aires!!

Bortski Los Angeles, CA
Review Submitted: July 7, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2008
Great location on the top floor of an architectural gem. Across the street from a theater (real actors not film). Everything you could need is within three blocks (unless you need like a...bulldozer...that's ten blocks).

Well maintained, gourmet kitchen (watch out those knives are SHARP!!). Awesome furniture (better than our house and we LOVE to decorate!)

Stay with four friends and you can each have your OWN balcony (Don't cry for me Argentina...SING IT!)

Two blocks away is "La Brigada" an Argentinean steak house owned by some soccer fanatics where they cut your steak with a spoon (and not a sharp spoon either)...if you say you can find a better steak anywhere YOU'RE A LIAR!

On Saturday is the San Telmo Fair where they sell EVERYTHING! Antiques, Toys, Glassware, Food, Clothes, Records, it is AWESOME.

To sum up, if you want to go to Buenos Aires...and you do WANT to go to Buenos Aires, save yourself a grand and rent this rockin pad for a week (and spend the extra money on drinks, spa treatments, and steak dinners!)

A glorious week in Buenos Aires

Recently myself and two friends spent ten days in this incredible unit. It has everything a person needs and then some. It's like living at home with a washer/dryer, phones to the U.S., wi-fi and and drop dead kitchen that would make any chef envious.

The apartment is close to everything, the neighorhood is charming, close to markets and art fairs, shopping...you name it.

I am VERY hard to please. Very. I loved this place and I could not recommend it more highly. If you have to see Buenos Aires, this is the only way to see it.

A Gem in San Telmo, Buenos Aires Argentina

Babynurse Wilmington, NC USA
Review Submitted: October 29, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
This open and spacious recently renovated apartment was a perfect place to stay in Buenos Aires. It was in the heart of San Telmo district with nice shopping, food, grocery stores and transportation right outfront its doorstep. The third floor apartment had many balconys to allow fresh air and the feel of the city abounds. The owners had every attention to detail from laundry facilities, mutiple resources on where to go and what to do. Additionally, they were a phone call away and willing to answer any questions if one should arise. There were many things availiable should a travler forget something down to a sewing kit and a shower cap. The neighbors down stairs checked on us and with their English and our little Spanish we were able to converse and this gave us a true feeling of the people of Argentina. We loved our stay and would go back and stay in this same apartment given an opportunity.

Pleasant Stay @ Carlos Calvo Escape

MarieS Chicago, IL
Review Submitted: April 14, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
We recently returned from our stay at the Carlos Calvo Escape property in San Telmo, Buenos Aires. We had an amazing time in BA and the apartment was wonderful. The apartment itself was beautiful, well kept, and exteremely spacious. In fact, each of us had our own bedroom AND bathroom! The architecture was really cool since it had different levels. The kitchen and bathrooms are done in a contemporary style - which is a nice contrast for the historic neighboorhod. It had everything you could possibly need, i.e. safe, washer/dryer, blowdryer, kitchen utensils, guidebooks(see below), literally everything. It even had some 110 outlets and telephone use. We really felt like it was our home away from home.

But what really made our stay was the the friendliness and hospitality of the owners and caretakers. The owners are so knowledgeable about BA and gave us so many great recommendations. They were so forthcoming with information, you could really see their love and passion for BA. On top of that, the apartment is well stocked with BA & Argentina guidebooks/maps and even local info. (You could literally plan your whole trip with the resources at the arpartment!) And the caretakers, Maria Teresita and Hector, are genuinely loevly people. They are so cute and always willing to help you out.

As far as location - San Telmo has so much charm with its cobble stone streets and vintage architecture. The apartment is very close to Plaza Dorrego (Sunday street fair) and Defensa St, which is lined with antique stores and restaurants. When venturing out of the area - its very close to Puerto Madero and a 10-20 minute cab ride to all the other amazing neighborhoods.

We had a great time !!

One thing to note: The apt is on the third floor - no elevator; so its a small workout if you have alot of luggage.
