Surely the best place to stay in New York

6 of us stayed here and we were so glad we rented this property instead of staying at a hotel. Don the owner was very helpful and friendly. The house itself is beautiful, with lots of space, incredibly comfortable beds, fantastically well equipped kitchen and great outdoor space. The park opposite is real bonus, great for strolling through in the mornings before launching yourself into the city to see all the attractions. We felt totally at home here and would strongly recommend this as an amazing place to stay. If you are in a group of 6 or more this place is a way to have a luxurious base at great value.

WE stayed at At Home In Brooklyn right before Halloween. The location was perfect. As an added bonus, Don's house, as well as the whole neighborhood, was decked out for the holiday. The house itself is lovely-filled with beautiful furniture and cabinetry, and Don, the owner, couldn't have been more welcoming and accomodating. While our room was clean and charming, sharing the bathroom presented a challenge in that I couldn't get into it over a 40 min. period in the morning. Luckily, there is a spare small bathroom on the first floor, which suited me just fine. Overall, the situation was terrific, and we will definitely stay there on our next visit.

I spent a wonderful evening in Brooklyn at this charming, clean and convenient B&B. The area has a lot to offer and the #2 is minutes away to bring you right into Manhattan.
The park is right across the street and there are lots of good resturants close by. The rooms were full service and very clean and comfortable.

A Home for Brooklynites!

As Park Slope natives, we've never had an opportunity to stay at a bed and breakfast in the neighborhood, but we recently had relatives visiting and we decided to give them our place while we stayed At Home in Brooklyn. Well, we are sure glad we did. The place is beautiful. Don has created a true home atmosphere where everyone is made to feel comfortable and at ease. All your needs are taken care of and the little details are there. I so much appreciated having a makeup mirror in my room, free bottled water, robes and slippers, full access cable TV and space to put all your belongings - you don't find those in a hotel, especially for this price! The continental breakfasts were great - fresh fruits, breads, jams, nutella (for the European set!), pastries and great coffee! The back garden is a relaxing retreat. The inn is spotlessly clean. Don takes the time to be with his guests but is not intrusive. We will definitely be recommending this place to our friends who live in the area. Thanks for everything, Jill and Paul.

We could not have enjoyed our time in Brooklyn more! Don has created the perfect blend of an owner-operated B&B that is a beautifully maintained, elegant private home with all the comfort and special touches of a boutique inn. The beds and linens were wonderful as were the furnishings throughout the house. Location, location, location! Literally, on Prospect Park, walking distance from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Museum and Library. The dining options on nearby 5th and 7th are varied and fun as is the shopping and taverns! We can't wait to visit again and hope our kids stay in Brooklyn a bit longer. This California couple discovered New York the best way possible - "at home in Brooklyn"

Wonderful home experience!

My parents and family stayed here for a week and we wished it could have been longer! They visited Brooklyn for my wedding at the Prospect Park Picnic House and there was ample room for 9 adults and children, and for hosting a few family dinners and brunches. The house is striking and the accommodations are very comfortable. The location is superb - close to the museum, botanical gardens, subways, and Prospect Park is right across the street. Don and his family were so gracious and welcoming, my wife and I wanted to stay in the house and to let my folks stay at our place! FIVE STARS all around!

I just needed something hassle-free and affordable, but still great quality. At Home In Brooklyn fit the bill! I had a great stay -- courteous owner, beautiful property with a great back garden, and a tasty and generous breakfast. I'd definitely come again!

Home away from home

We rented the whole house from Don for a wedding weekend in July. The house is beautifully decorated, outdoor patio was a great gathering place and Don and Marco were excellent hosts. The location across from the park was ideal for walking and a few blocks away were shops and restaurants. This is the only place to stay in Brooklyn!
Thanks for a memorable weekend in your lovely home.

Peaceful haven, gracious hospitality

Don has created a lovely refuge from the often frenetic pace of NYC. The decor is elegant, breakfasts exquisite - hospitality is warm & welcoming. With a 20min subway to Wall St just a short walk away, it was perfect for my business trip. I would definitely not hestitate to stay there on vacation w/family or friends as well - and plan to return.

Perfect Anniversary Weekend

Suzanna Brooklyn, NY
Review Submitted: May 8, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
My husband and I recently celebrated our first anniversary, and were looking for a quiet getaway in Brooklyn. At Home in Brooklyn was the perfect spot for us. We stayed in the queen suite which had a lovely view of Prospect Park. The room, bathroom and adjoining terrace were beautifully decorated, well-maintained, and peaceful. The owner had refreshments waiting for us when we arrived, and there were champagne glasses in our room once we returned from dinner. I would highly recommend this establishment for its great location, excellent customer service, and very comfortable accommodations.
Thank you to At Home in Brooklyn for making our first anniversary so special!
