Fabulous vacation

We have stayed in many mountain cabins and have to honestly say, this cabin was the most impressive. It was secluded and private. It is only a few miles from attractions such as Northern Arizona Museum, Arboretum, Lowel Observatory, and Snow Bowl. We visited Antique shops in downtown Flagstaff. We also drove to the Grand Canyon which is only an hour and a half drive. The property is beautiful, clean, fully stocked, and very well maintained. The cabin is just as it is described in the owner's description, and even better. This cabin has a great deal to offer. We will definitely visit again.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay! and were able to take advantage of the local attractions. It's a wonderful "base camp" for traveler's wanting to see northern Arizona. Another attraction you may consider is the Aboritum just outside of Flagstaff and about 15 minutes from the cabin. They have wild bird shows along with the beautiful gardens and exhibits.

Spacious, comfortable cabin

If you have read all of the revues, I can't really add too much to them. I will say the neighbors to the right are close but very quiet. I found no problem with barking dogs as indicated in one of the revues. We had a blast watching a squirrel build her nest for the winter and spying on our nightly skunk visitor foraging for goodies. The only thing I would definitely add to the description....no television reception at all. To top that off, the only Blockbuster in Flagstaff closed down. Take lots of books or your DVD's. I have COX internet and I was untable to access it for the week were here. That being he case; it was the quietest most relaxing vacation we've had in a long time. Thank you Maureen for letting us visit your world.

Owner's Response: We do have a good library of family style movie,s "chick" ficks, and lots of classics along with Christmas style movies. You can rent more at Hastings book store in town. Usecured wifi can be reached from kitchen table. I've not been able to connect from other parts of the house. I wouldn't recommend accessing anything you wouldn't want accessed from a publice computer, though.

peaceful escape

My wife and I needed a break and decided on travel to Arizona. First time for both of us since trips during childhood. The Kachina private pine chalet was exactly as advertised. Everything that we needed was right there in the cabin. It was very neat and clean. Best of all, it was very peaceful with plenty of hummingbirds. Even though it was out in the country woods, it was close enough to Flagstaff and other sights that we used it as out home base travel location. We would definitely stay there again next time in Arizona.

Lovely Weekend

Hikerman Rochester, NY
Review Submitted: April 25, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We (3) really enjoyed our 4 day weekend at this lovely cottage.
We found the cottage very comfortable, and well laid out. The beds were great and the bathrooms were very clean with lots of towels! There was a very nice variety of games and videos available. We had a great time playing dominoes, something we hadn't done in years. The available firewood (although we didn't use it), was a very nice touch and made the cottage even more welcoming.
This cottage is in a very good location with respect to Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, and the Flagstaff airport.
We would definitely stay here again.

Great place to relax...

Just came home from a few days at the Pine Chalet. We were impressed with how cozy and comfortable the house is.

Initially I was afraid the house was too far from Snowbowl, but the drive proved to be quicker than expected (about 40 minutes with traffic).

We had a great time playing games and relaxing.

We would definitely stay here again.

My daughter & I really enjoyed our time at the cabin.
I think that the location is really just perfect.
It's far enough away from any major road noise, yet close enough to Flagstaff for a quick drive into town.
It was very clean & well maintained. I personally liked the master bedroom with the reading chair & I actually got to do something that I haven't done in quite a long while.....read a good book.
I would definitely recommend this property, & should my daughter choose to go to NAU, I would like to find myself staying here in the future again.
Thank-you Maureen.

Perfect and Comfortable

Review Submitted: December 9, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
The property was more then I expected from the photos. Beds were incredibly comfortable and living room was a relaxing place to read. The cabin was extremely clean and had everything we needed for cooking. No cell phone reception (Thank God) this was a fantastic get away from it all! Short drive to bottom of mountain and cell phone reception is fine. Home is located close to the interstate making this the ideal place to stay and take day trips. Who wants to pack up your things every day or two and move to a new location! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, 12 pound bird with plenty of leftovers; I will forward a picture of our dinner table soon for all to view. There are dogs next door that bark as all dogs do but inside the home they were never heard. Would love to come back in the spring or summer and explore the hiking trails. Flagstaff was a charming town with lots of shops and pubs. My favorite daytrip was to Antelope Canyon near Page Arizona: We went on a guided tour of the upper Antelope Canyon with a Navajo guide whose grandmother discovered the canyon cost was $31.00. Drive on 98 until you see the turn off for upper Antelope Canyon turn in and they are right there, tours operate every hour on the hour until 4 PM. After our tour of the upper Antelope Canyon we took a boat tour of Lake Powell Dam and Lower Antelope Canyon: Breathtaking views don’t miss this tour cost $41.00 for an hour an a half boat ride.

A lovely, cozy Chalet...

Review Submitted: November 5, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We had a lovely time at the cabin, it was a nice and cozy place to stay at. The only thing we had a problem with was the cabin wasn't child proof. I would strongly recommend that parents of young children bring your child proof gate with you because your gonna need it. Also bring your child proof door handle covers. Both these things are a must if you want to have a relaxing stay at the cabin.

Great Value/Great Location

Review Submitted: October 16, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
This is a very comfortable and clean cabin, with all amenities as described. We loved the clean mountain air. The location is convenient to Flagstaff, Sedona, and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. There are tons of educational and outdoor recreational opportunities in the area. While we did notice dogs barking in the neighborhood occasionally, it did not interfere with us having a peaceful and relaxing stay. We saved a fortune by not having to book 2 hotel rooms, and enjoyed the extra space to hang out and prepare some of our own meals. We will definitely be back!
