First trip to Taiwan

Dexter Jemuel Singapore
Review Submitted: May 31, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
It was an enjoyable experience given it's my first trip to Taiwan and the first time i'm not staying in a hotel while on holiday overseas. The apartment exceeded my expectations! Honestly, when i first got off the car and saw the apartment building from the outside, i told myself this is not going to be good, the pics online were a lie! BUT hey it was a very pleasant surprise once i stepped in.
The interior was rather posh yet homely, nicely done up. The amenities provided were more than sufficient, with a TV, washing machine, an electric stove, wardrobe, toiletries & hair dryer etc.
The location was another plus point. It's right in the middle between 2 metro train stations, both a mere 5mins walk away. With McDonalds (24-hr), Watsons, Din Tai Fung and many convenient stores like 7-11 in the vicinity, it's an ideal place to stay. Major banks are just outside the apartment, and it's the only place to exchange your foreign currency so it'll be useful.
I went there with my wife and our families & we really enjoyed it. But i would recommend it more for young couples on holiday, esp for Unit A, which is a little bright (due to the glass ceiling) so older folks might not like it.
Otherwise, give it a shot! Janly provides excellent service! Will be back to try the other units.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review Dexter. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay. Hope that you will return soon. If you book earlier next time you can reserve the larger unit at Lishui for your entire family. :)

Comfortable and close to everything

We stayed in Yanji B for a week in late September. The apartment had everything we needed, and is well located: quiet and private, but close to Taipei's excellent metro (which gets you anywhere you need to go), shops and plenty of interesting restaurants. Karen & Janly were helpful and accomodating and gave us tips when we needed them.
The price is much less than you'd pay for a similar standard in a hotel. We did wish there was a microwave so we could bring back the delicious boxed food you can buy in so many supermarkets on those evenings we were tired out from sightseeing

This was a perfect lil cozy studio that strayed away from the hotel feel. All the amenities in the apt was perfect: washer/dryer, full kitchen, tv+cable and wireless internet =) The location was also great, the apt itself is tucked away in a quiet residential street but just minutes away from countless choices of restaurants, shopping and the MRT stop. The security of the place is amazing and the property is well managed. Janly was so nice and patient working with me with my countless date changes and her staff is extremely professional. I absolutely recommend this place.

Everything was as advertised and went smoothly. Customer service was excellent.

The location of the apartment is very convenient for shopping, dining and public transportation. So, I would be happy to stay here again the next time I am in Taipei.

Some things to be aware of: I communicated with the drivers and person who checked us into and out of the apartment in Chinese. I don't know if things would have been as smooth, if I couldn't speak Chinese, and the apartment would be difficult to find based on the address alone (e.g. without requesting a driver).

Great Host and Great Location

I took my 9 year old daughter to Taiwan for an one month Chinese Language Summer Camp and other fun activities such as swimming and magic classes. My daughter had a ball in Taiwan, she loved the food in Taiwan and all of the activities we attended.

The studio we stayed was smaller than I envisioned but it was well maintained with all of the modern appliances that were absolutely necessary to make us feel comfortable inside the studio instead of the Summer heat and humidity outside.

Janly and her support team were very helpful and very responsive to any of our needs while we were in Taiwan. We really appreciate that!

Because we were pretty busy with the summer school activities, we did not had too many chances to explore the surrounding near the rental unit. The last couple of nights I had a chance to explore around the apartment area and I can see there were lots fun evening activies in the neighborhood that we missed out. May be next time!!

Great apartment!

Four of us stayed at the Yanji Studio A during mid-April. Janly was nice enough to send over her helper Mr. Lai to meet us even though our arrival was very late on a weekend night. Mr. Lai didn’t speak much English but he had a series of maps and diagrams and used those as aid to show us how to operate the equipments as well as show us where the nearest supermarkets and other conveniences were. There was also a really useful booklet with maps and suggested restaurants. The apartment itself was really nice. It was compact with a small kitchen, a comfortable bed and sofa bed. There was also free internet service provided. The location was really superb. We stayed there for 3 weeks and took trips to Hualien, Sun Moon Lake and Taichung in between. It was really nice to have a home to come back to at the end of those trips and it was great that we didn’t have to bring all of our luggage with us. In all, this was a very comfortable stay and it saved us a lot of money!

Wonderful host, great apartment

I booked this for my parents, two Taiwanese natives, to visit for 10 days. Janly is incredibly nice and accommodating -- she worked with us through numerous trip reschedules with always the same wonderful demeanor -- and the apartment is wonderful. My parents report that the location "can't be beat" and that it is very well equipped and well designed. Book early, since this apartment is getting popular. Janly, please fix up more condos for rent! :)
Owner's Response: Thank you so much Vicky. Your parents are really nice and I really enjoyed meeting them. I hope to see them again on their next visit.

Best apt you'd ever get in Taipei

angelwasintaipei los angeles
Review Submitted: September 7, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
I rented the 2 studios (as I had my parents and my husband) this past summer '08. Here's the upshot:

- Location: Unbeatable. There's nowhere else you'd rather be than here. Everything that was worth going was all around the apt. It is completely safe too. All the apts have security alarms.

- Amenities: Everything you need! Unlike in Europe, they don't have a toaster or microwave, but they have washer/dryer, wi-fi, stove, air purifier, a/c, you name it!

- Comfort: It was very hot outside so we stayed in everyday until the sun was less harsh. It was very homey. FYI studio A had a softer bed than studio C.

- Decor: Impeccable. My Taiwanese friends said they've never seen such beautiful apt ever in Taipei! Definitely tasteful, you feel like you're in a designer room.

- Price: I researched a LOT of apt before choosing this one. Not only all of the above, this is also the BEST deal you can get if you're going to stay for a while (I stayed for a month).

Janly was especially helpful and kind in assisting with anything we need. It was so much better than a hotel concierge as it was more casual and friendly!

We had a blast...

Owner's Response: Wow, thank you for the kind words. It is always nice to learn that our tenants had a great time. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scene and we try really hard to keep the apartments running in tip-top condition and my primary goal is the comfort of my tenants.....I sincerely thank you for your positive review.

Great apartment in best location

Review Submitted: September 4, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
I decided to stay at this studio for the reasonable price (better than a hotel). To my delight, this apartment offered everything I needed for my 2 week stay with my family; wireless internet connection, washer/dryer, small kitchen, nice clean bathroom with tub, but specially the convenience of its location and the friendliness of the landlord. I highly recommend to everyone seeking a clean and convenient place to stay.

Stay at Yanji st. Apartment

Review Submitted: July 4, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Me and my wife stayed in this apartment for two months while I was on a business trip to Taipei, and had a great time here. Its a very clean and well maintained apartment located in the heart of the city. I took it as it was cheaper then a hotel, had a kitchen (to cook our indian food) and was 10 min ride away from my office in Dun-hua south Rd. The place is flooded with good restaurants (Din Tai Fong being one of them) and shopping areas. Also it provides great proximity to 101 and SYS Memorial. Actually I would give it 5/5 just for the time we spent strolling around the SYS memorial lake.
