Wonderful week

C&P Lake Oswego, OR
Review Submitted: October 27, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Just thought I'd send you a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed your home in Roqueselles and the village. We had a wonderful time touring around and just being there. You have done a great job with the house! We were in Roqueselles for the end of the harvest so it was great to watch all of the activity, especially the wine-making operation right on the other side of our wall. There was grape juice flowing down the street and into the side gutters, staining everything purple. We had to be careful not to track it into the house! The smell alone was intoxicating. I feel as though we barely scratched the surface of the area, but at the same time we got a good feel for it. Everyone we met was extremely friendly and helpful! One week is not enough!

Maison Candide - A Perfect Romantic Getaway

David & Alexia Cologne, Germany
Review Submitted: December 2, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
After a lot of searching on the internet, we finally found Maison Candide. It sounded to good to be true. It appeared to have everything we were looking for - location, view, property style, pool and privacy. Being city dwellers, we were looking for somewhere quiet and secluded, a place to unwind.

For us, it was the most relaxing vacation we could ever have imagined. The weather was perfect for the 10 days we stayed. Warm and sunny with virtually cloudless skies. A clear view out across the vineyards by day and an amazing star filled sky by night.

It was a refreshing change to find a holiday that delivered all it promised. The property was definitely a home from home. Maison Candide has so much character and our words cannot do it justice. It needs to be experienced to truly appreciate it.

If you are searching for a quiet, relaxing, romantic getaway, then you will not go far wrong with Maison Candide. It was truly a pleasure to stay in your home and we will definitely be back in 2009.

everything is nearly perfect. especially the technical envirenment of the property. everything in the house is created with love, and that's exactly what we felt. we stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed every day the totally calmnes, the great view to the wineyards and landscape. it was a great time. the only thing we were missing, a perfect mobile-phone connection and a restaurant, where we could walk for dinner. so, be sure to have a car. thanks to pat and mel.

p.s.: we are germans

A very special place

What an absolutely delightful experience. Relaxing near the pool or on the nearby beaches...delightful. Maison Candide provided us with the perfect home base to make casual excursions throughout the Languedoc.
Fine restaurants and local artisanal wines supplied affordable yet spectacular cuisine. We didn't want to leave.
Caitlan especially loved the variety of close by mountains one day and the expanse of the Med the next...rolling vineyard-studded hills in between. Give me a good book accompanied by the quiet of the setting.
Thanks for offering a "home" not just another rental.
Count us in...we'll be back.

Peace & Quiet, Rest & Relaxation - Maison Candide

Grenville & Gloria Luton, UK
Review Submitted: June 9, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2007
Staying at Maison Candide was like being in a home from home minus all the stress. Everything we needed was there for our use and plenty more besides. From the moment we arrived we really couldn't have felt more welcome and the house managers were always just a phone call away if we needed them.
If you want to relax in peace and quiet Maison Candide is a great place to be. Chill out by the pool, watch the odd bird of prey over the woodland, the swallows darting around the village or the odd bit of work in the vineyards. If you want to just do some sight seeing or be more adventurous, there are plenty of places a short drive away and there are lots of tourist guides and maps at the house to help make your mind up. Coast or caves, mountains or markets, take your pick - we were never disappointed wherever we went. Needless to say, the people we met were always helpful, the food was great and the wine plentiful.
We had such a great time at Maison Candide in 2006 we came back for 3 weeks in 2007 and have booked again for 2008. I think that's the best endorsement I can give and we'd happily recommend Maison Candide to anyone thinking of holidaying in this beautiful part of France.

We had the vacation of a lifetime! Scott continues to tell people that it was a life changing experience. We are both in awe of that whole area. We absolutely loved Maison Candide!! There were days that we just didn't leave 'home'. It was the absolute best honeymoon. It was far more than we could EVER have hoped for. Debi Dube-Gordley & Scott Gordley, December, 2004...

Thank you for sharing Maison Candide with us. It is charming and we enjoyed our stay very much. The spectacular view out onto the vineyards reminds us of the amount of land that is devoted to vines...amazing, as far as the eye can see. We sampled lots of local wine, in a variety of venues. We went to the sea for mussels, walked on the beach of the Basin de Thau, explored Pezenas, did the markets in Pezenas and Clermont l'Herault, went to the mountains, and hiked to a Cathar castle outside of Le Grasse. Thank you again for sharing your bit of paradise with us. Gerri and Steve Acers, July, 2004
