Glorious Getaway!

Review Submitted: August 24, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I took all my children and grandchildren for a Grand Canyon excursion. We spent one full day experiencing the GC from air, land and water. The following day (totally exhausted) we elected to stay in at our Inspiration Ranch for a day of family time, enjoying the lovely setting, watching for elk (saw many), grilling, making Smores at the pit fire, and totally emersing ourselves in the moment. The house was perfect for our large family. Everything we needed was there, including places to spread out and have private peace. You will love it!

Spacious, but some issues...

Review Submitted: August 9, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We stayed for a week in July. Flagstaff and food were a LONG 15 miles (we clocked the nearest grocery store at 20+ miles). There was plenty of space, but we found that the linens on the beds were worn (flannel - in July) and in the case of two bedrooms, stained. The towels were in good shape, but we felt that the overall property (with the exception of the living room) was becoming worn. It may be located near a national forest, but also know that the property is surrounded by other homes. We went for a walk one night (the only way out to the main road is on a neighbors property) and we were chased by the neighbor's (not too friendly looking) dogs. The owner mentioned elk walking by - but every property around us was fenced in - no elk for us. Also know that while there is a beautiful deck upstairs there are no seats on it - no where for folks to relax. We felt that property description was misleading and we were disappointed in the accommodations.
Owner's Response: I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the accomodations, I try to exceed the expectations of my guests!
I do apologize for the conditions of the sheets. I had a caretaker during July, apparently she got behind on laundry and used my extra sheets I keep for guests that might have kids sleeping on the floor or using tents. I normally have only linens in new condition in use, and clean the property myself so I am always sure it is in top condition.
The property location is accurately described in the website (as you stated 15 miles from Flagstaff), it is rural but not remote. There is a convenience store 3 miles from the Ranch.
I do have outdoor furniture, it often is moved by guests to suit their needs. I do try to keep chairs on the upstairs deck for enjoying the incredible view of the peaks and sunrise.
The property is bordered on the south side by forest service land. There is also a gate here for easy access to trails from the Ranch property.
I live nearby and Flagstaff and am available by phone to assist with any questions and make sure my guests are comfortable - please don't hesitate to call!

Family Get Away

Our extended family thoroughly enjoyed the break from the hot weather. We enjoyed the afternoon thunderstorms from the back porch. The little ones (we had 7 of them!) 7 yrs & younger enjoyed the nice wide open spaces to play ball, badminton, and soccer. They also loved the sandbox and swing/slide area.
The accomodations were clean and well cared for and easily accomodated our large group.
We are considering a return for some fun in the snow.

We had a group of 9 people to accomodate for grad weekend and this was a perfect location. It was away from the city of Flagstaff in a rural setting with all the amenties of home. We enjoyed making a bonfire, grilling on the outdoor grill and relaxing on the porch. The property description is accurate, clean and well maintained and the owner is very accomodating and responds quickly to your needs. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit the Grand Canyon and/or Flagstaff area and wants the rustic, rural feel.
I would love to go back and explore the wilderness area, hike and ATV.

Travelers Ranch Paradise

Our family of eleven stayed for a full week and had a super time. I know that everyone enjoyed themselves.

I appreciated the hominess of the house and everyone loved sitting out by the fire in the evening. My brother in law took a drive and the neighbor down the road said he could have the wood because it was getting old. They bargained for a bottle of wine so it worked out well. We left what wood was left for the next bunch of guests.

I had a few questions about things in the house and the owner was always quick to get back with us. She is one class act!

It worked out well for everyone. Some liked it outside watching the bluebirds and the fire and some stayed in and watched TV….like my husband, the old poop! The family with kids fit in nicely upstairs with the TV and all. They would play cards and watch TV and they seemed right at home.

The games in the closet came in handy too. We had a little mishap with our rental car and they had to deliver us another one on Friday so we all stayed home and had a scrabble tournament while we waited for the car.

We took turns cooking every day so none of us got tired of the chores. I am sending you a picture of all of us at the entrance to the park. That is me to the right of the park sign Thanks for the lovely accommodations. Have a great holiday weekend.

Thanks for the lovely accomodations.........

Great Winter Getaway

We stayed at Inspiration Ranch after New Year 08 and had a fabulous time with an abundance of snow. The location is fantastic to visit the Grand Canyon and Sedona, but is also very picturesque to just laze about at the house and enjoy the local environment too. The house was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for a large party which was great. The wood fire added a wonderful warmth and atmosphere and we enjoyed roasting marshmallows each night. An added bonus is the master suite and bathroom with gorgeous views to wake up to. We are looking forward to returning in the summer for a completely different experience.

My family of 10 rented the ranch over Christmas. We were fortunate this year to have a ton of snow to greet us. I highly recommend having 4WD if you go up to the ranch in the snow. We didn't have 4WD and we did get stuck, but the ranch owner was more than willing to help us find a way out.

The house itself was clean and tidy, and just secluded and rustic enough to be a great getaway from the city without being so far away that the city is unaccessible.

The kids, the dog and all of us adults had a great time without even leaving the ranch.

The ranch owner is very personable and easy to work with, I found her to be very concerned that we had a great time and that she did everything she could to be sure we did.

Thank you!!!

Our family recently stayed at the Inspiration Ranch and was truely impressed. It was clean and comfortably for our crowd of six adults and six kids. We enjoyed the freedom of having the children explore the property and it was centrally located between the Grand Canyon and Sedona.

We had a very good time at Inspiration Ranch. The layout is pretty neat and all 10 of us slept very comfortably! It is far enough away from everyone for great privacy. Great place for meeting our out of state relatives. Very pet friendly, great place for dogs to roam and have fun!

I stayed at Inspiration Ranch with 7 of my good friends... It's really easy to get to from Flagstaff... only 10 minutes away from NAU... For the 7 of us there was plenty of space for everyone to sleep... EVERYTHING was VERY clean... from the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc. etc.... There's a full huge kitchen with a full dining room. The cabin is HUGE!... plenty of space, especiallly if you want to rent the top floor as well, which we didn't but had a peak. The bathroom up there is amazing!... like a honeymoon suite, no kidding! The fire pit is great in the HUGE backyard. Just to give you an idea, we found a nerf football that can really fly!... had plenty of space and then some to throw it around! The fire pit was excellent.. it's set toward the middle of the back yard, big enough to get everyone around it. Bring your own fire wood and you'll have a great time roasting smores. The BBQ on the back porch is HUGE and commercial grade! The hardwood floors in this cabin and the furniture really make it feel like you're on vacation away from home! It's secluded... can't hear a sound from surrounding cabing which I need to mention are barely within visible distance... it really feels like you're the only one out there. This is a place we are definitely going back to!... my friends have already mentioned going in the winter!
