VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The description of this villa does not do it justice. We have thoroughly enjoyed several peaceful holidays there. The villa has beautiful views overlooking the valley with the Alps in the distance. It is situated in an ideal location for touring around Italy's best wine producting regions. The owners are charming hosts and provide beautifully cooked evening meals with their own wine on request.

If you want to recharge your batteries I thoroughly recommend this villa and region.

H&M Nottingham UK

This is a perfect place to relax, take in the views, sunsets & drink home made Barbera wine.

A car is a must, for the windy hilly road up to the villa, there are lovely local walks. Cannelli fresh market is a must, everything & more is available. Asti and Alba are worth a visit, traditional historic towns.
The restaurants serve top class food. To say there are very few tourists in this area, we were made welcome by the locals who helped us speak italian!

There are no words to explain the perfectness of the villa itself. It is a home from home in every sense of the word. Dianne has put so much thought and time into each room.

Dianne & Brian are the perfect hosts, Brian makes the best wine. Dianne is always there if needed to answer questions and to make recommendations for places to eat, but if needed Dianne would cook all the meals whilst you do nothing, her cooking equals the best restaurants.

We were at home the moment we arrived, a cooked meal was ready for us in the fridge & wine (which we requested beforehand-along with groceries)
This place is the most relaxing we have visited for a long time, and we will continue to re visit.

Thank you

Semplicemente perfetto

Simply perfect!
Like so many other visitors, one visit is just not enough. We could fill this review with so many superlatives and still feel we hadn't done it justice.
The 'cantina' is ideally situated for visits to many regional attractions and provides magnificent vistas, exhilarating walks and tranquil sunsets.
Dianne and Brian have overlooked nothing and their attention to detail provides everything you could need for a stress free stay.
There is plenty to see and do without the trappings of commercial tourism. Proud of their heritage, the Piedmont people have plenty of festivals throughout the year which are well worth visiting. Excellent local produce provides good food and the local wines...! If you know little about the region's wine you can rely on Brian to share his expertise, if not some of his own outstanding Barbera. Dianne will also share her enthusiasm for local recipes if you wish to cook for yourself but don't miss an opportunity to try her cherry crumble!
Travel light, everything you could ever need is provided within the magnificent accommodation.
Enjoy and we're sure you will return but please leave some weeks free, we want to go back again - and again.

A Piece of Piedmont Paradise

Wow! What a special place and a fabulous time we all had.
Our host Diane and Brian were the perfect host. From the
fabulous dinner Diane prepared (her baked peaches are the best) to the perfect wine Brian picked. With help from directions to recommendations, their there to help.
The ‘villa’ is clean, very spacious, decorated lovely with a warm homey effect. It is equipped with ‘everything’ you could possibly need and more. The home is located up a windy road (a car is a must) but the view is unparallel.
The town of Canelli offers great bi-weekly open market shopping to prepare wonderful meals in your well-stocked kitchen. Along with some great restaurants and wine cave tours.
It was a prefect location to venture out to discovery the Piedmont, Asti, and Alba area. We left this location to go to Tuscany, I much preferred this area (less commercialized-
Tourist). We are already talking about our return. I would highly recommend this retreat. Thanks

Italian Paradise

Review Submitted: September 4, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We enjoyed the most perfect holiday on our first visit to this property and are sure that we shall be returning for years to come.
The house is typically Italian and is located on a steep hillside in a tranquil setting. The views are spectacular and on a clear day The Alps can be clearly seen in the distance.
The accomodation is very spacious, beautifully clean and everything is provided to make you feel at home.
A car is essential as even the walk into Cannelli would be challenging!
The town is sufficiently large to boast several excellent restaurants and two market days per week.
Dianne is always available to answer questions and to make recommendations for places to eat, but if you never left the property she could, on request, provide the most wonderful food to compete with the best of the local restaurants.
We are keen to recommend this property and have already booked for next year.

A little gem.

I have revisited this exquisite villa over a period of 4 years and never fail to enjoy its peace and tranquility. The surrounding countryside equals that of Tuscany but without the hoards of tourists. The villa is equipped with every modern convenience within the beautiful old villa.
Dianne is the perfect Hostess in every way. She creates ingenious Italian meals if the guests so wish. She provides an inspiring menu catering for everyone's needs. The vineyards produces delicious wine for wnich both Brian and Dianne must be proud.

A car is essential as there as so many interesting towns and villages in the surrounding area to visit. Dianne is always there to offer advice and guide you to whatever village, town or city you wish to visit.

This is a perfect retreat 'away from the madding crowds' and I would highly recommend this property. It is indeed, a little gem.
