A lovely place for spending peaceful holidays

Just returned from a one week holiday in Pettirosso holiday house. It was a perfect holiday for our four boys between 10 and 17 years, the two dogs and for us.

We enjoyed the lovely pool, the lawn for sunbathing with deckchairs and the possibility to play football, the table-tennis room, the beautiful scenery around the quiet located house and the interior with lovely typical toscany furnishing. The property was clean and well-maintained.

The owner and his family were very friendly and warm-hearted. They were always available for questions regarding the house or activities and attractions in the surrounding area, without ever beeing importunate.

We made daytrips to Livorno, Pisa, Viareggio, Pietrosanta and of course a couple of times to Lucca.

In case we go to Tuscany again some day, we would love to stay at "Il Petirosso" again.

Fantastic House, Wonderful Holiday

Just back from a brilliant week in Giovanni's house. We couldn't have been more happy with the house, the beautiful surroundings and the welcome from Giovanni and his family. The property was beautifully maintained, comfortable and perfect for a relaxing holiday. We had 6 adults and 1 toddler and there was more than enough space for us all too relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Lucca is only a short drive and a fantastic place to visit. We also had day trips to Florence, Barga and the mountains. The cafe and restaurants within walking distance were all lovely and typically italian rather than the more expensive touristy places in the cities but all so friendly and helpful.
Would love to go back one day.

Beautiful, relaxing villa and town

The villa is located in the rustic back hills outside Lucca, with spacious and authentic rooms and a huge outdoors grassy area. The villa has so much character and the view is one of a Tuscan novel.

We went in October, and although the weather was getting chilly in the evening (requiring jumpers and warm socks!) the days were warm and relaxing. Sitting out on the balcony overlooking the garden and the village fields was truly relaxing. When we went the kitchen had a coffee machine, and enough utensils and facilities to make a great italian meal each night. Really quiet and peaceful.

Lucca is about 10mins in the car and this is the 2nd time we've been. I love Lucca. Walking on the raised encircling city wall as the sun goes down in heaven, and the back streets and coffee shops could fill our entire day.

The owner, Giovanni and his brother and father make lovely hosts, whilst never intruding. And they have a wealth of stories to tell, including why they see to have 5 British Land Rovers all with RNLI stickers in!

Ideal house for family with kids

Review Submitted: August 31, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We've just returned from our 3 weeks stay at the Pettirosso holiday house where we've had a wonderful time!

First of all we would like to thank Giovanni the owner for his good care and his time and patience to always come and have a nice talk with us and taking good care of the garden and swimming pool. Also his father and brother who live next door and ofcourse their dog Michaela who always came by to say "hello".

After spending some years at a family park during our vacation, this was a really wonderful change of spending our holidays. The house is very nice, its interior makes that there is a comfortable, cosy atmosphere in which you feel at home immediately. Everything you need is in the house, from a ironing board to a hairdryer, you name it.

The garden is so immensely big, which gives a nice panorama, but is also great to play in for the kids.
The pool is ideal for kids and the temperature of the water is not so cold as other swimming pools because it's not too big so the sun can heat it up easier.

Futhermore the house is situated at a very ideal position. It's in a quiet environment but just a 10 minutes drive away from the city of Lucca and also close (18km) to the beach.
Pisa, Florence, Siena (really nice!!), all cities which can be visited easily from here but Lucca itself is also a really nice and beautiful town.

Very recommendable and guaranteed for a nice and relaxed holiday!

We have just returned from a two weeks stay in beautiful Tuscany. The Pettirosso house had everything we needed for a perfect stay in Italy.
A nice pool with cooling water, a big terrace with a great view, a big, nice garden and a very friendly owner.
We did not miss anything at our stay, but you need a car to get around for shopping, sightseeing and swimming in the see.
The location is a perfect start for daytrips to e.g. Firenze, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Grotta del Vento.
If you are quiet in the early evenings, you may have a glance of some of the very shy boars in the near woods!

Greqt family holiday location

Just back from two weeks in this villa. This is our second time staying there. It is a wonderful location for a family holiday with small kids. The villa has everything you need including baby chair, cots, microwave etc.

The location is great. It is out in the country with wonderful views, yet a short walk to the nearest shop and cafe, and about 10 minutes drive into Lucca, the least touristy of the Tuscan cities.

The house is situated in a huge garden, ideal for running your kids ragged so they sleep at night. The pool is great as it is raised and the steps can be locked, so little ones cannot fall in.

Overall, it is a great place for a holiday.

Big nice house for families or bigger groups, the garden and the pool are great, Lucca is just 10 minutes by car, the sea 20 minutes, located on a very quiet hill with a nice view. Everything you need is already in the house available and if there´s bad weather you can play table tennis! Just great! Thank you!
