The location and facilities are according to the descriptions. The property is clean and well maintained. The owner Will and Wendy were very helpful and had every little details sort out. Yes, we will come again and will definitely recommend to our friends.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday

Many thanks for letting us share your beautiful home. Wilf and Wendy were incredibly helpful and really ensured we had a fantastic visit. Lauterbrunnen is a superb base for visting the Oberland - plenty to see (Trommelbach falls, Jungfraujoch, Thon, Schilthorn - all easily accessible from here). The chalet was spotlessly clean and fully fitted with everything we needed for our stay. I was visiting Switzerland with my 78 year old mother as it was the one place she wanted to see before she died. Rest assured you made her very, very happy. Paradise indeed! Many thanks.

We (family of four with two teenage children) had a wonderful weeks skiing during February Half Term. The chalet was excellent and really homely. The flexible start and finish days really allows you to take advantage of cheap flights etc. Wilf and Wendy made us feel very welcome and all the little extras such as DVD player, DVD's to lend, books to read, comprehensive information on the area etc added to the homely feel. Also the very well equipped kitchen was much appreciated. The bus stops right outside/across the road from the chalet and this made travelling in either direction to the lifts/train station very easy and stress free. Time to lift one way about 3 minutes, time to the other lift/train just over 5 minutes. The scenery was absolutely stunning and the chalet made an excellent base.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful apartment. We had 4 of us and felt it had plenty of room. The kitchen was perfect for cooking our dinners and we were able to borrow a movie from the owners each night. We could walk to Lauterbrunnen where the train for Jungfrau is and we could walk to the cable car that brought us up to the Schilthorn. Really a perfect location. The owners speak English which made our trip even more enjoyable and were very helpful and friendly. Really a perfect apartment and the price can't be beat.

Exactly What We Were Looking For!

We stayed at this gorgeous, typical Swiss chalet with our two boys (10 and 12) and couldn't have been happier. It was just like the pictures except better as they didn't show the immediate environment, which was stunning. We had bad weather but it didn't matter as we were happy to spend some time indoors and enjoy the magnificent views of the mountains and flower-covered meadows from our windows. Also, it was cosy! We loved the added extras: the friendly chats to Wendy and Wilf, the fresh farm milk the boys could buy next door, the wonderful swiss eiderdowns to sleep under, the dvd selection, the easy access to the region and the taste of goat's milk we were given. The apartment easily fitted us all, had good beds for everyone, was clean and comfortable and had easy access to the entire region. If we didn't live so far away, a place we would come back to regularly. It turned out to be our boys' favourite after 3 weeks of touring through Italy, France and Spain. A real find and fabulous value for money! Thank you, Wilf and Wendy. We treasure our swiss memories!

Wow! What a great place - We'll be back

Review Submitted: November 14, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
The apartment was perfect - and extremely clean! Well furnished, comfortable beds, - better than home!

Wilf & Wendy couldn't have been better hosts. They provided great advice and directions, then let us explore the incredible region on our own. It was nice having them near if we needed them, yet not feeling obligated to spend time visiting with them if we didn't want to.

Public transportation is a perfect to get around anywhere - extremely reliable and prompt - but not cheap. We were amazed at the number of well-marked walking and hiking trails that provided access to the most incredible views we've ever experienced.

When (not if) we return, we'll do our best to schedule our trip around Chalet Bärli's availability, since I don't believe there's a better value in the region.

We could have spent weeks or months there - without getting bored. And, for those looking for a great English-speaking coffee shop, laundry mat, library and internet cafe, Air Time, in downtown Lauderbrunnen is perfect.

One benefit of staying on the valley floor (vs. up in the more touristy towns of Wengen and Grindelwald) gives you better access to explore all portions of the region - since Lauderbrunnen in the central hub for the entire region.

There plenty of grocery stores in the area - so you have great options of eating in - or enjoying a wide range of restaurants.

If you're looking for glitz and glamour - and an active night life, keep on looking since you'll not find it at Chalet Bärli. However, if you're looking for a place to get away and soak in the most impressive scenery in the world, surrounded by majestic cliffs, waterfalls and valleys - this is your place.

When can i come back ?

Review Submitted: October 8, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2007
It's now a year since our stay in the valley of waterfalls our twin gilrs still talk about Wendy's goats and walking up the road to the dairy to get milk. The apartment was warm comfortable and everything we needed, the gilrs stayed in the lounge on a fold down bed and converted sofa.

Wendy & Wilf are gracious hosts and have excellent tips for what to do.

The only problem is when can we get back again to this part of the world.

This property is in a lovely location in a beautiful valley. The apartment is charming, clean, spacious and very welcoming. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is spacious as well. The owners are lovely people that offer suggestions for making the most of your time in the valley. Words cannot describe the location of this home. The views in the valley are stunning. There is a long walking path along the entire valley floor that take you to town or to various lifts. We would love to return again.
