Our stay at Precious Jewel of Astoria was nothing less than perfect. The townhouse is immaculate, you could eat off the floor. All the comforts of home and then some. For a stay in New York I highly recommend this excellent locatio close to the subway station, safe and clean neighborghood.
The daily maid service and gourmet coffee were additional touches that signify the attention to detail that Edgar and Suzanne put into making you feel at home.
Definitely will come back next year and will recommend it to my friends and realtives.

Members of my family and I rented the Precious Jewell in August 09 -- we were in town for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday. We were thoroughly impressed with the rental -- it was roomy, lovely, and extremely clean. It was also very conveniently located -- close to subway, restaurants, amenities, airport, etc. Edgar and Suzanne gave terrific customer service and were prompt in their communication. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a beautiful gift basket of treats, flowers, bottled water and vitamin water in the fridge. When we needed extra bedding, they brought it right over, as well as movies for my two little nieces. The apartment was tidied unobtrusively each day. It was like a home away from home. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting NYC. Also wonderful was the fact that we could rent it for 3 nights, unlike other rental apartments that require a minimum of one week. We will rent it again next time we come to town!

We stayed at "The Precious Jewel" for a week in the beginning of August. We are New Yorkers that grew up in Astoria and opted to rent vs stay with family. The apartment is as luxurious as pictured and my first thought was "not exactly child friendly" as we have 2 children ages 4 years and 22 months. However our stay was marvelous! It was just like being in a 5 star hotel with a lot more room. The children had their own room with TV and I did not have to worry about cleaning as there was daily room service! We rented a car (because of the kids) and did not find parking a hassle at all but a car is not necessary as public transportation was less than a 5 minutes walk. We had our friends visit us in the evening, it was like home away from home. The apartment is surrounded by great restaurants and the owners provide a guide of local restaurants that deliver. There was a gorgeous basket filled with delicious fruit & cookies upon our arrival. Due to our mutual busy schedule we did not have the opportunity to meet the owners personally but they were in touch via phone making sure we were doing well. We hope to get the opportunity to meet in May 2010, when we plan anothe rvisit to NY and to this gorgeous apartment.

We stayed @ the Precious Jewel in May 2009 for 4 nights - 2 adults and 1 child. The apartment was very spacious and very nicely furnished. We are used to staying in 4 star hotels, and this place was at par with much more space! The location is perfect - a very short ride from LaGuardia airport, a short walk to the subway to get to the city (faster then driving/parking), plus the neighborhood is great with grocery, nightlife and shops open late. The daily housekeeping was excellent as was the flowers and fruit basket upon our arrival. Will definately stay again on next trip to NYC. Miles & Nicholle.

We had gone to the US to visit family and Precious Jewel was located just a couple of blocks away. The apartment was perfect - a home from home. Suzanne and Edgar welcomed us when we arrived and we were delighted with our abundent welcome basket and the daily replenishment of coffee & tea - not to mention the excellent daily cleaning service - which was tailored to suit our 'late rising' each day. The restaurants and bars close by were great and the train to the city was just a few minutes away. There was also shopping and cinema in the vicinity and we also fitted in a visit to the local museum. We highly recommend a visit to Precious Jewel it is a modern, clean and very comfortable apartment and we hope to visit again.

It was the best idea to pass X-mas and New Year in the Precious Jewel apartment. We had a most cordial welcome, finding a really beautiful X-mas tree and a huge gift basket. All the descriptions were correct and the service was excellent. The owners helped us in any question we had and we past wonderful holidays. In the close surroundings we found the train, shops, restaurants and supermarkets.
We can highly recommend this place as we also felt very safe throughout the whole stay.
