I have never been one to write a review for vacation accommodation, but after spending just under a week at Michael & Catherine’s lovely Chelsea studio I felt strongly compelled to share my thoughts of my experience. It was the first time to New York for my girlfriend and I as a couple (we had both been several times on our own) so had already done the so called touristy things, this time we wanted to experience living like real New Yorkers. The amazing location of the studio certainly did help with this; we were in walking distance to everything we wanted to. Close to great restaurants and café’s.
The room itself was very tastefully decorated and was extremely clean on arrival. The view from the studio was quite special, it was just of a little garden but I thought that was quite special and unique for downtown Manhattan. The bed was very comfortable and was just perfect after the long hours we spent on our feet discovering Manhattan again.
Both my fiancé and I (I proposed at the end of our trip) would come back in a heartbeat and have not stopped praising the place to friends and family.

Perfect place for a short visit

My partner and I lived in the city until three months ago and had to return recently for a short business visit. This property met all our needs - a great central location, a bright, sunny interior overlooking a wonderful garden with a comfy bed and wireless internet, and a wonderful little kitchen. All in a great low-key and very quiet building. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the process. We'd highly recommend it and we will be returning.

Our vacation was really nice at Micheal's home. The apartment is lovely, very well equipped and clean. The neighborhood is very cool, with many galleries and places to eat, it's also close to the center. Micheal gave us a lot of suggestions and he helped us a lot. I shall advise the house of Michael to all my friends who will go to New York, particularly to those seeking a romantic and dynamic. We hope to return soon to see him.

This was my 4th trip to NYC and my husband's first. We chose this apartment based soley on prior reviews. Since we live in a quiet rural setting, we were looking for a quiet place to stay that had easy access to all parts of Manhattan. Comfortable modern furnishings were also a must - and we found it all in this apartment. The description was spot on. The apartment was clean, and well maintained. It was perfectly furnished and uncluttered. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable (an important factor for us). The customer service could not have been better. The owner was helpful and readily available without being intrusive. The apt has easy access to the subway and a wonderful Whole Foods market. The apartment really was the icing on the cake for our vacation! We have already recommended this place to friends and hope to return again ourselves in the future.

The apartment was fab - very clean and well equipped, light and airy and furnished well. The windows look out to an oasis of garden, trees and little pond - made it a very peaceful place to retreat to after a hectic day. It is the ideal location to get around NY and has some great restaurants and bars within walking distance. Michael gave us a couple of tips about places to go - which we did, sitting on an old barge on the river with a few beers watching the sun go down was fab!! It was a great holiday, will definately stay here again and recommend it to friends. Thanks Michael and Catherine.

Amazing, clean, quiet little apartment in a great location. (nice to look out onto a courtyard!)
Michael (owner) went well "over and above" what was expected, and that made our stay that much more enjoyable.
From start to finish Michael (owner) was fantastic.
Would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for accomodation in NYC !!

Great place, nice house-owner and really worth a long visit to NYC. Clean, peaceful, close to the Underground, Wholefoods superamrket and Meatpacking Distrcit. Nice roof terrace for shared use. But please, keep this place a little secret will you... Otgherwise it will be packed and we will come back!

Look no further...seriously! We switched to Michael's place after landing in a really bad homeaway rental which we luckily got out of. Our trip would have been ruined. Fortunately for us, a late cancellation allowed us in. Okay, we're a little fussy, but what we found in this ideal Chelsea location is as follows: Fun and friendly communication with Michael, perfectly remodeled, simple yet stylish accommodations, extremely clean, quiet and peaceful setting overlooking a fantastic garden oasis, great towels and bed linens, the BEST location, great recommendations, etc...a really fun place to stay.

I just came back from my beautiful NY experience. The apartment is beautiful, clean and perfectly equipped and Michael is the best host in the world! The location is fanstastic, just a walk away from Meatpacking district and the Empire surroundings. The back garden is great, you just forget that you are in the center of the world. I definitely recommend this property and really hope to go there again soon
