Great time in BA

Review Submitted: July 9, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Thanks Valerie and Jim for a wonderful experience in BA. The apartment was perfect for my brother and I, as we were perfectly located to all of the fun the Recolleta area has to offer. The food in the area was fantastic - Munich, La Rambla, and Rodi-Bar were all great meals at a great price and only about a 5 minute walk from the aparment. The cemetary is truly one of the great things to experience (I took about 200 photos in there!). Hope to be back soon!

We are now back home after a great - but too short - week in Buenos Aires. The apartment was very nice and we enjoyed it very much. Frank and Osvaldo were very nice too. We will recommend the apartment and will likely be back some day.

Wonderful apartment in a great central location. The owners went way out of their way to make us comfortable and adapt to our needs. They even provided EXCELLENT recommendations or food, shopping, tango shows. If we go back again, we'd try to stay at the same place.

Look no further for a place to stay in B.A! Great location! Convenient to everything including a small grocery store next to the apartment. The owners, Valerie and Jim are easy to work with and very helpful. Their hosts in B.A., Frank and Osvaldo, are really nice people and will give you all kind of useful info on where to go and what to do. Try to be in B.A. on a weekend so you can go to the San Telmo and Recoleta craft fairs. Colorful and great buys. The tango/dinner show at El Querandi restaurant is great. Been back a short while and I wish I was there now!!

The apartment was perfect. Max and Valerie's recommendations for Munich and choices of dishes, for Sottovoce Madera for calamarie appetizer- enough for a complete dinner for two,Cabana las Lilas for steak and better atmosphere than La Cabana in Recoleta that had a cover charge, was more formal and expensive, but the food was just as delicious and service impeccable. MALBA had great modern art and lovely cafe with delicious food. The ferry trip to Uruguay is worth the time and money. The subway on lineA with the ancient rail cars is charming. We recommend the bike tour to LaBoca; it's 2 1/2 hrs for about $20. The office is one block up from the Shell gas station on Colon in San Telmo which happens to be only 8-9 blocks from Casa Rosada by bike, much farther by taxi. The shopping is great and the San Telmo Sunday market not to be missed. There's a wonderful Peruvian restaurant in San Telmo. The botanical garden was a disappointment unless one approaches it as the 'cat park.' Tomo Uno is wasclosed on Sunday when we tried to eat there, but it gets a restaurant rating of 26 out of 30 and is considered one of the best restaurants in BA. We also enjoyed the Eva Peron Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts and the modern art museum. Visitors should go to the local bookstore and get "Tridimensional Guide of Buenos Aires" where it is cheaper than at the gorgeous old theater, now bookstore, Ateneo Grand Splendid which is worth a visit on Avenida Santa Fe #1860. Max was wonderfully helpful. I am recommending the adjoining apartments, Max and Buenos Aires to everyone I talk to. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

Lovely apartment right in the heart of Recoleta- a very walkable safe upscale neighbourhood. and whether you decide to use their expensive but efficient driver is up to you and the owners take pride in the ownership of their apartments.

Fabulous thank you!

The location was perfect, in the heart of the action and centrally located.

The apartment was tastefully decorated with updated kitchen and bathroom. The view is spectacular overlooking the most popular Buenos Aires attraction.

Max the Host was very helpful, extremely prompt, and knows of the local secret destinations - Munich Restaurant ( mustard potatoes, Chateaubriand , a bottle of Malback Wine ) :) :)

The owners were a delight to do business with, and very accessible and prompt in their commitments.

Wish all my Apartment experiences could be like this one -- The Best !!!!

Understand why you got the apartments - which are especially fine for
overnights as we did - and loved your Recoleta neighbourhood. Bed was
good and the internet was fine.

Happy to stay with you again.

Many thanks from Leo and I.

Cheers,

Jock

PS - we somehow fell in love with the La Familla Zuccardi wines
even though we tried dozens of others.
