A wonderful, relaxing,

We spent a week here and truly enjoyed every relaxing minute. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation away from the city, this is the place for you. The hosts, Beth and Dave, were very welcoming and provided anything you could ask for. We especially appreciated all of the fresh fruit along with the fun sporting equipment. You will need a car since the cottage is about 30 min south of Kona. It is in a beautiful location and we really enjoyed the area of lush fruit trees and coffee plantations. We have already recommended our friends and family to stay there. When you visit, make sure to check out Jake's BBQ!

Fantastic location, everthing for a great holiday

This property is a real hidden gem. It is close (a few minutes drive) to the best snorkelling on the island near the Place of Refuge. It is a private, beautiful set up and it was a real pleasure to stay there. The pool and BBQ area is a real advantage on the aftenoons after a day site seeing to the volcano or snorkelling in the bay. Everthing we needed for a great holiday was provided. The apartment we stayed in was really well designed, cleverly decorated, very comfortable for two, and spotlessly clean! It exceeded our expectations and is great value for money. Maholo Beth and Dave

What luck it is to have found Beth & Dave! Their
studio was the perfect setting for rest, relaxation
and adventure on the Big Island. From the
thoughtful decor, to the fresh fruit from the
garden, to the toys to adventure around with, this
felt like a Bed & Breakfast for just the two of us! We
spent the latter part of the week at a Kohala Coast
hotel, and we mused that we should have just
stayed in the studio...we loved the proximity to
exceptional snorkeling (and we have snorkeled all
over the world), swimming, hiking, and kayaking.
We were easily able to drive down the hill for runs
and bike rides. It was a manageable drive to
Volcanoes Nat'l Park. Beth & Dave provided us with
a lovely balance of privacy and friendly conversation
in their well-equipped accommodations. Their
generosity and easy-going natures made us feel
comfortable and welcome. We wish we could take
another week off of work soon to come back...

Best Vacation in Years

What a wonderful place spend a relaxing but adventuous week. Beth's Hideaway was a wonderful starting point for our daily adventures on Hawaii and a great place to relax in the evenings with a glass of wine watching the sunset over the ocean. It was close to the best snorkling spot on the island and away from the busy traffic of downtown Kona. Just the right atmosphere for relaxing but close enough to all the great fun on the island. The hosts were the best and made us feel like we at home only better. We will definitely be back.

Dear Dave and Beth,

Ray and I would like to thank you very much for helping make our holiday in the Hawaii Island a most memorable experience. Your warmth, generosity, friendliness and hospitality were most appreciated. Your rental unit is superlative ! The decor is playful and most pleasing to the eye, and very comfortable. You have thought of every detail that makes for a special stay: fresh cut, exotic flowers, orchids, nicely pressed, quality sheets, lovely towels, a well equipped kitchen with fresh Kona coffee beans, all the fresh fruit from your trees which made the most delicious morning smoothies, laundry facilities, the use of your pool and your quiet, most relaxing property. I loved the feeling of being "outside" in the lanai. Wireless Internet was helpful with some work I had to do. Most of all - it was so clean, which held great appeal to me. Thank you so much ! once again, for your wonderful hospitality.
We would return for a visit in a heartbeat, and will be sure to recommend your vacation property to all of our friends who will be visiting Hawaii in the future.
Best wishes to you both !

Short summary: Beth and Dave, thank you for these wonderful days!
We really enjoyed this accommodation for several reasons:
The condo is very comfortable, well equipped and arranged with love.
The house with its big garden and pool is used only by 3 apartments,
so you feel pretty private.
There’s a wide choice of sport equipment that is offered by Beth and Dave and that one can use any time.
It’s just 5 minutes away to one of the best snorkelling spots of Hawaii.
It is a must to take the canoe and the snorkel gear to paddle to Cook's Monument to snorkel.
We were lucky; dolphins were spinning next to our canoe.
This was a wonderful time, the best of the year.

WOW! Beth's Hideaway is a great spot for a couple interested in staying south of Kona. The owners, Beth and Dave, made the place very charming and home-like, and they are both personable and helpful, and quite unobtrusive. The place is only a couple of miles up the hill from the City of Refuge and the adjacent, amazingly (and yet) unspoiled "Two Steps" snorkeling area. The Hideaway is very well appointed, with WIFI, kayaks, bikes, snorkeling gear, and such, plus a nice kitchen, all the fresh fruit you can eat (from their gardens) and a nice breezy screened-in dining and living area. Very comfortable. It was also very reasonable, especially for prime Christmas season, and being outside the main tourist area (which is to the north) one can enjoy the coast without the crowds. My gf and I loved it. We have stayed at several such rentals, and this was by far the best.

Hey! When we arrived at Beth's Hawaiian Hideaway, we thought "Welcome to Paradise!". You can harvest some fruits from the garden. This place is unique, it has everything you need for a unforgettable stay on Big Island. Honaunau and Kealakekua Bay are just down the hill, the best places on Big Island for snorkeling. The apartment is fully equipped (hearty landlords are included). We loved the pool and going down to the ocean with the canoe.
We had a wonderful time!

This is a wonderful, wonderful place to stay. I highly recommend it to any couple or single person looking for a quiet retreat in the heart of old Hawaii......within minutes by car (and very easy by bicycle) of Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, 2-Step (Honaunau Bay) and Kealakekua Bay......all beautiful places to explore, swim, snorkel and kayak. Easy access to grocery stores, farmers' markets, good coffee shops and plantations, and only 15-20 minutes from the amenities of Kona. Super launching spot for a day trip, or longer, to Volcano National Park, Hilo and the rest of the island. Owners Dave and Beth, who are extremely helpful and completely unintrusive, have done a marvelous job creating a highly comfortable, affordable, private and beautiful hideaway......the plantings and the lawn expanse looking out to the sea are gorgeous, the pool is divine. I know that I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was a wonderful first time Hawaii experience. The hosts are great but not intrusive. It's quiet, in a convenient residential area and it's so VERY pretty inside. A fabulous deal for the money.

It's near the Painted Church, City of Refuge and the beach, liquor stores, some restaurants too. We plan to make a repeat visit soon.

PS: you need a car to come to this island; the Big Island.
