Italy Vacation

Review Submitted: August 29, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We stayed for 5 days in July 2009 and were totally impressed with this condo. The size of the rooms was very large and everything seemed recently renovated. The outside terrace ran the length of the condo, making it also very spacious.
The condo was situated in what appears to be a recently built development. The landscaping also seems recent. Outdoor parking was gated, very secure. We used the condo as a springboard for day trips to Florence, Venice, etc., and of course Bologna. In Bologna, all interesting spots were a short bus ride away, very convenient.
The owner, Paola, was very welcoming and helpful. She even provided complimentary bus tickets, bottle of wine/beer, fruit baskets....WOW! A North American style supermarket is a 5 min walk away.
Overall our family was extremely satisfied and would definitely return next time we’re in Italy.
Grazie Paola.

Conveniences Abound

Review Submitted: November 26, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
This clean, new, apartment looks even better than the photos, is near a bus stop, a large grocery store, and Bologna's busy train station. Nice restaurants and pizza parlors are within walking distance. Paola demonstrated how to use all the appliances and stocked us with a beautiful bowl of fruit, a bottle of wine, a refrigerator with milk and juice, a bus pass, and phone numbers to call if we needed help. Our week flew by as we enjoyed the conveniences of home while far away in Italy! I'd highly recommend Al Parco to anyone.

TWO GREAT WEEKS IN BOLOGNA

AL PARCO REVIEW

My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Al Parco in September 2009. The apartment lived up to its listing description; indeed, it exceeded it. It was well furnished, well equipped, clean and comfortable. A lot of thought had evidently gone into anticipating guests' needs, with little things like an introductory bus pass, drink in the fridge and free local calls on the telephone making one feel at home. The air con was useful in hot weather and the balcony is large, with comfortable furniture. We were met on arrival and given a comprehensive introduction to the apartment, supplemented with written briefing. Paola accommodated our minor requests before our visit and both she and Ken were most helpful. (Paola's English is impeccable!)
The apartment's location is very convenient for local services. There are plenty of shops nearby, including a good supermarket, and a selection of restaurants, including take-aways. A regular, frequent and inexpensive bus route passes the apartment and goes directly into the city, passing the central railway station and the bus station en route. We had no need of a car, but there is secure parking on site. The airport is not far and the taxi ride cost us only 15 euros. There is a taxi rank 400 metres from the apartment.
We made several trips into Bologna, which has a lot to offer - culture, shopping, restaurants etc. It was not too crowded and although prices at bars in the centre had a premium they were not as bad as Venice, Florence etc. We took advantage of the railway system to visit Parma, Ferrara, Modena and Ravenna. The services are convenient and not expensive, though Ravenna is less easy to get to. All 4 are worth the trouble; each has something exceptional to offer.
We had a memorable holiday, in which Al Parco played its part. This is an apartment which I can recommend without reservation

The pictures do the apartment justice. It is spacious, beautifully decorated, and has air conditioning, internet access, a washer and a fully equipped kitchen. It is very close to a supermarket and bus stations. By foot it is only about 20-30 minutes to the center of Bologna.
Paola met us, and was extremely helpful in giving us information about the apartment and about Bologna and the surrounding areas, providing us with maps etc.
An elevator leads to the apartment, so no need to carry your suitcases up the stairs.
The refrigerator was stocked, we were provided with bus passes, and Paola was available by phone to answer any questions we had.
The apartment has private, secure parking.
We would rent there again and recommend it to anybody!

Best rental ever

The photos don't do justice to the apartment; it's much bigger than it looks and even nicer! It's very recent, extremely well-equipped, comfortable, spacious, with great attention to detail The private parking place is also very convenient. Access to the heart ot the city is very easy, both on foot (15 minutes) and by bus. We generally walked there and took the bus back.
Bologna is picturesque but also lively, well worth a stay.
Also Florence, Ravenna and Pisa are not far, day trips we utterly enjoyed.
Many thanks to the owners who were really kind and helpful, making our stay a memorable one.
We really felt at home, the best rental we've ever had!

My colleagues and I stayed at the delightful Al Parco during the week of the Bologna Children's Book Fair. An easy walk to the fairgrounds in one direction, and the central piazza in another, Al Parco is ideally located. The spacious apartment was very comfortable for the three of us, especially after a long day at the fair! The terrace was an added treat. We will definitely return!
