we stayed in early june'09 in the 3 bedroom apt.we loved it,the views of the beach are fantastic from the living room, worth the long climb back from the beach.that hill takes some getting and would not suit an eldery or unfit person, but if u were'nt up so high ,u would'nt have that view.the apartment was clean n cosy.had everything we needed.not fancy,a bit old fashioned maybe, but we loved it.we had two teenaged boys with us,n they liked it too.a great book selection if u fancy reading in the sun,the terrace was quite small, the 2 bed apt below had a much bigger terrace, whish was a bit confusing.easy access to shops from above the apt,and if u go into malaga city by bus, head down the hill going in but make sure u get the no,33 back, so u walk downhill to ur apt. definately going back, mary n paul ,,

Not as Expected

With two young children, I was very disappointed in the location. We occupied the 2 bed appt - located on a steep hillside with no safe play area around, the terrace has 20ft straight drop to the street below with only a low fence. The facilities in the kitchen were very basis with insufficient space to store (other than fridge) or prepare food for children. The bathroom was also very basic; shower did not hang up and was enclosed by bare brick. The walk back to the apartment is not suitable for kids, buggies or people with health problems. The rest of the apartment was clean and comfortable and as described the views are magnificent - but all the family were disappointed by the location and we moved after two days to a more suitable location for children. (Fortunately we were able to do this – but alternative accommodation may not be found in the high season)

Casa Esperanza is a spacious holiay home, elevated above the villages of Pedregalejo and El Palo (about 15 mins by bus from Malaga). The upstairs property has the most amazing view out onto the ocean, and is cooled by the ocean breeze. It has 3 bedrooms one double and 2 X twin bedrooms so can comfortably accommodate 2 adults and 4 children. The house is very quiet and restful, a welcome relief after a busy day of sight seeing. The location although out of town is well serviced by the local bus routes which run every 10 mins into Malaga. We caught the bus from the bottom of the hill which was only a 5 min walk. The climb back up is short but quite steep - but there is an alternative bus route to the house which avoids this. There is a shopping centre close by with baker, hairdresser, supermarket, cafes. We found the location great for day trips to Ronda, Granada and Cordoba. The "beach" is also a 5 min walk away, down the steep hill. It has a fascination collection of seafood restaurants right on the water front which specialise in local cuisine such as fried fish and sardines on skewers.
You could easily spend all your time relaxing at the house and around the local area, but it is also a great location to use as a base to see Andalusia. The owner is very helpful and accomodating when making bookings.

A lovely 3 bed apartment, with fantastic views. The resort is totally Spanish with very little English spoken, but a phrase book works wonders. A steep hill down to the beach, but you soon get used to it.
A really great untouristy holiday, with Malaga close by for culture and shopping.
I'd recommend this to anyone who is reasonably fit, loves good food, sun & friendly people.

We enjoyed staying in this apartment very much. Three good bedrooms, bathroom, small kitchen, small side balcony and living area that faces (through two big windows) on to a wonderful view of easern Malaga and the beach and the Medditeranian. Its an easy five minute walk down the hill to the beach that has swimming and eating/drinking that you need. Supermarkets, bakeries, newsagent etc are also close by either up or down the hill. The quick bus ride into Malaga city is close by also and very easy. The main city is just minutes away. Taxi from the airport found the place easily and a very helpful neighbour who supports the owner helped with a call for a return taxi on our departure. As a family of four this was a much superior option for us than being in down town Malaga. The beach and easy shopping being minutes away was exactly what we needed. For those new to Malaga the eastern location means easy access to the historical side of Malaga now including the Picasso Museum in that precinct. If we needed to spend time in Malaga again for any reason we would certainly consider staying here again. The house itself was in a quiet and safe location. No need for a car.

From Carrie and Paul
We have found all of our stays, enjoyable and friendly with both the apartments giving us exactly what we need for a self catering holiday.

We keep going back year after year (7) it is peaceful and quiet but not to far away from anywhere.

If you are a reader of books it is great, If you are a group of people looking to explore South of Spain it's great, if you are a beach worshipper during the day and just want to go home at night the apartments are great.

We love the place it is plain, comfortable , easy to live in, It's not fancy but we love it.

The apartments and we have stayed in both have a simple charm and it is oh so very easy to make your self at home.
