Hello Andrew, Just returned from our two weeks holiday at the Solcosta Apartments. It was really terrific. The apartment, pool complex and service were all wonderful and being away from the hustle and bustle of the main resorts was just perfect for us.The apartment position overlooking the pool was ideal also-thank you for that;maybe you could arrange for us to have the same apartment next year ?? We will definitely be returning.
Thanks again John and Katrina Duncan & girls( e-mail address of Mr/s Duncan can be supplied on request )....Just felt we should write to thank you for a lovely holiday, totally helped by yourself. The apartment and it's surroundings are beautiful, clean, spacious and perfect for a Family holiday. Our friends who were staying over in Vale de Parra were very impressed with what we had and what we paid for it.All in all, we had a wonderful holiday and were only sorry we didn't take 2 weeks.Next time!

Review of Solcosta Apts in Portugal

Holiday Kids Ireland
Review Submitted: July 23, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Our experience in the Solcosta was fabulous. From the moment we arrived we were met by very pleasant & friendly staff, not to mention Andrew who took the booking & kept in touch until we left for our holiday. The apartment was spotlessly clean with plenty of space & 2 balconies, it also had a full working kitchen (not that we used it!) & air conditioning. The pool is a good size & water is spotless, it has a deep & shallow end with plenty of room to swim for both adults & children. It is about 5km from Albufeira & costs €6 in a taxi. We hired a car & it's very easy to get round the resorts. They're are some lovely small cafes locally for a bite to eat or have a relaxing drink. There is no night life in the village but it really is an ideal spot for a relaxing break with the nightlife of Albufeira only 5 mins away. I could highly recommend the Solcosta for a holiday in Portugal, we will never stay anywhere else!
Thanks to all it really was a great place to stay.

My last minute surprise find

Thanks to Andrew, we booked our holiday at very short notice and have now been enlightened to the charms of Solcosta. We can concur with the previous reviews. The complex is marvellous and we couldn’t have chosen any better.

Our 2-bed apartment on 1st floor with balcony overlooking pool and kitchen/bedroom had views of extensive rear garden. Furnishings basic but everything you need, fully equipped kitchen. Rooms including balcony extremely spacious. Plenty towels/linen provided & changed mid-week. Well lit premises / CCTV in operation

Excellent clean pool with plenty of sun beds and space available, mature gardens with shaded areas (if required). Snack bar by poolside (although closed for refurbishment during our stay).

There’s an attractive pond with fountain & small bridge running length of reception which contains large fish/turtles & frogs (sounds wonderful at night).

The welcome from the guy at reception was fantastic. He is very friendly, excellent English, offered advice on the resort and local conveniences, which included bakery, butchers, supermarket (Inter Marche), paper shop, fresh fruit/veg & fish mongers all within short walking distance. Pointed out lovely Cafes/Bars & Restaurants & even Banks, Chemists, Church & bus stop. We found the Café opposite (Lisboa) to be very friendly (pool table/darts board). Restaurant canopy on side shows “Nicola” but name begins with En………... again very friendly, limited menu, but food superb at a very reasonable price (3-course @ £10/head including wine)

If you prefer experiencing a little more Portuguese, but within easy reach of centre of Albufeira, then this is the place. Certainly far cheaper than staying in more commercialised areas, but having the choice of a relaxing holiday.

Location extremely handy for A22/ N125 & A2 (toll road) making sight seeing planning very easy whether it be to the East or West of Algarve. Albufeira old town is straight down the road approx 3-miles

We will certainly be back and will have no qualms about recommending to family & friends.

Thanks Resort Solcosta (and Andrew), we had a fabulous holiday.

A Relaxing week at Solcosta in October

Review Submitted: October 16, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
If you want a quiet week in the sun away from the tourist traps then Solcosta is for you.
A very spic and span experience in the huge 1 bedroom apartment. We had a pool view on an upper floor and the sun was on our balcony first thing in the morning.
We were so laid back we were horizontal most of the time.
Fabulous weather for the first week in October.
Facilities were excellent and local cafes etc friendly and very reasonable.
Supermarket very close at hand if you want to self cater .
If you want to spend your holiday money you need to visit Albufeira where there are pricey restaurants and the usual tacky gift shops for women . (Oops hope my wife does not read this ). The beach there is very clean and there is a buzz on a warm evening in town.
We did eat locally near Solcosta where the choice of dishes was limited but extremely cheap.
Staff at Solcosta are very friendly and helpful and if you book your holiday through Andrew you will experience a highly professional, expertly conducted transaction. I highly recommend Andrew to you and suggest you do not hesitate to give him a call if you are considering a delightful break in the Algarve.

..The photographs shown of the property look exactly as it is. The property was very well maintainedand the grounds are laid out in lovely shrubs and trees with a lovely swimming pool which was kept very clean and a good snack bar.Customer service wasexcellent and the manager and staff would have done anything for you. We have been going for 3 years now with are family and love it, we have already recommended it to friends. It is placed in a very central position for travelling by car to different places eg Loule, Villamoura,Silves etc and you have the ad vantage of living in a Portuguese town, away from tourists. We liked the Brisa Sol cafe in Albuferia and recommend their lovely cakes and pastries! We love Silves and recommend Cafe Ingles especally Sunday lunch! We well definetly be back next year!!

Brilliant

We've just returned from 8 days at Solcosta and have had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The complex itself is well laid out with beautiful gardens and pool. The apartment was extremely spacious and cleaned twice in the week we were there! The staff, especially the main receptionist, who is utterly charming, couldn't do enough to help. The location of Solcosta is ideal because it has a supermarket close by, various other shops even closer and just a short ride in the taxi or the minibus to the livelier Albufeira. Ferreiras itself is quiet but has a couple of restaurants, one called Nicola's is very cheap but does a good "home-style beef". We went to Albufeira a few times during the day and to Algarve shopping on the one cloudy day. All in all a perfect holiday! Thank you Andrew! Sam and Ritchie.

I highly recommend this apartment. it has two huge terraces which are perfect for sitting out on both during the day and at night. the apartment is huge with a big bathroom, decent kitchen and big living room. all of which were accurately described in the advert. the apartment was spotless and the cleaners were regular and very good. its recommended to have a car so you can drive into albufeira which is 10 mins drive away or an hours walk if your feeling energetic. Parking may seem an issue at first but there are two areas to park infront of the complex. theres a brill patisserie, inter-marche (supermarket) and papershop 2 mins from the apartment. activities in the area include the excellent QUAD VENTURA, its 5 mins drive from the complex and i highly recommend it, its FANTASTIC. there is lots to see and do in ALBUFEIRA. the Bank, the Atrium and the Beach Basket are three very good places to eat. an all round great place to stay!
