An excellent place to stay

Mishzy Red Deer, Alberta, Canada
Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
A group of us parents traveled from Canada to see our kids who were touring with our local Marching Band in Ireland. The house was an excellent central location for us. It was also the best place we could have chosen to stay. The owners were so warm and welcoming. We recommend renting from Mary in a hearbeat. There was so much to see and do in the area. We had an excellent stay.

A great Irish holiday

Traveling Loggy TN, USA
Review Submitted: June 1, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
I was lucky enough to tag along and with Three friends (all family) on an Irish holiday at the beginning of May for 5 days. I arranged the housing and was lucky enough to find this house and was even luckier to speak with Mary over the phone. Michael and Mary had the house very clean and even a fire started for us on our arrival, wihch made for some serious napping after a full day of traveling from the states. We used this house as a central location (being 1.5 hours from Dublin) to get out and see the major attractions. We were 1.5 from the Cliffs and Cork and Cobh. Each day we looked very forward to getting back to this house after a full day of site seeing. I recommend this house to anyone with transportation and willing to be able to relaxe in this small town at night. A great time had by all.

Owner's Response: Travel to Banagher and enjoy our self-catering accommodation. Banagher is in the centre of Ireland and is extremely suitable for day trips to most parts of Ireland. Book your holiday to Ireland and experience a warm reception at Glebe & Hynes Self-catering.

Ideal Family Accommodation

JerseyDavid & Family Jersey/Liverpool/London
Review Submitted: January 4, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We have just returned from a 3 generation family break and we were very pleased with the choice of accommodation we made. On a cold day we arrived to an open fire blazing away and Michael was very helpful throughout our stay, always on hand at the end of a phone for anything we needed. The house was clean, with all the amenities we needed and although we were there for a relaxing break, there were plenty of touring options plus all the things needed on hand in the village.
Great value and highly recommended!!!!!
Thank you Michael & Mary.

Beautiful House, Beautiful Location

Jo and John Derbyshire UK
Review Submitted: November 10, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We stayed in this property in October and were blessed with not only quality accomodation but beautiful weather. The house is located within easy walking distance of the town, which has all amenities and a lovely atmosphere. The beautiful River Shannon and Banagher marina are easily accessible.

The house was spotless, and comfortable, with large bedrooms and a huge fully equipped kitchen. It easily accomodates 8 guests, and has large gardens and ample parking for numerous cars. The rear garden backs onto a lovely scented pine wood. We found the property to be well located for sightseeing, of which we did plenty, including Galway, The Burren, Bunratty and Clonmacnoise, with good road networks from Dublin and beyond.

The owners were lovely and still smiling even though we had a very "late" arrival due to a long delay. We would highly recommend this property and Banagher for its Irish hospitality.

Glebe House - Home away from home

Review Submitted: September 17, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2007
Mary & Michael truly demonstrate the renowned "Irish Hospitality". Our stay with them was the most comfortable and relaxing we have experienced on our numerous trips to Ireland. The home is well kept and offers modern facilities and a peaceful retreat. The rear yard with patio and picnic table is a relaxing place to sit and read or enjoy board games while sipping your tea. Banagher offers excellent dining, shopping and evening traditional entertainment, especially on Thursday evenings. The central location lends itself to easy day trips to Galway, Clare, Tipperary & Limerick either by auto or taking the train from Athelone. I would recommend Glebe House to anyone wanting to experience the real Ireland.

great spot, very well equipped

Ireland Bound Ontario, Canada
Review Submitted: August 18, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2007
This is a fantastic house nicely furnished, 2 l/2 bathrooms, with good sized bedrooms. It is so convenient for those day trips. Mary and Michael, the owners, are close by and can tell you all the favourite spots to see. We stayed here with three couples and one child and had loads of space. This type of house is hard to find. Made our breakfast and dinners in the house and packed a lunch. Hoping to return again.

Glebe House, Banagher

Review Submitted: August 18, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We have stayed at Glebe House on a number of occassions both for family holidays and as part of a group taking part in the Banagher Fishing Festivals .We have always found the house to be spotless and extremely comfortable. The owners Mary and Michael always give a warm welcome and are on hand if required. We would have no hesitation recommending this property and speak of it regularly with great fondness.
There are many good Pubs in the town and especially enjoy our time in Flynn's Bar & Lounge where Eugene and his staff are extremely friendly.
lots to see and do in the area .

Fantastic Vacation Location

Mike & Sandy South Grafton Massachusetts USA
Review Submitted: August 18, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
My wife and myself along with another couple stayed at this "home" for 18 days while touring Ireland. We found the house to be a very convenient location for our home base, while we made day trips to tourist and historical locations. The location affords the opportunity to visit much of Ireland on a daily basis and return to our 'Home away from Home' to relax in a comfortable environment and plan our next excursion.
There were no surprises, the description of the property was accurate, it was conveniently located, attractive and very comfortable. It was immaculate inside and out. We would certainly highly recommend the house to our friends and relatives as the perfect spot to stay while visiting Ireland.
We found that the Midlands area offered many different types of attractions to visit. From Clonmacnois, Clonfert Cathedral, Emanuel Center, Birr and Kinnity Castles, and many local Pubs which offer some excellent food to go along with the Guinness. Don't miss the Shannonbridge Bog Railway Tour and we really enjoyed visiting the Leap haunted castle outside of Birr. You might also get a chance to see a local Hurling match in one of the surrounding towns. And Sandy says not to forget the many gift shops in the area.
Michael and Mary treated us as family while we were there and we consider them along with their son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Carmel our good friends now. Anything we needed we got, directions, suggestions etc.
If you decide to stay here make sure you cajole Michael into singing one of his favorite Irish Ballads or two or three especially "The Old Bog Road". It might be the highlight of your trip.

Good Luck! and Slainte!

Mike & Sandy
