Christmas Vacation - Perfect

Michael A Oakville, Ontario
Review Submitted: January 5, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
As a family with 3 kids (Boy - 14, Girls 10 & 7) CocoPlum was perfect. The facilities and location were great. The accomodation (though slightly dated) were perfect. The hospitality superb. The beach is great, the pool always warm and the hot tub inviting. I would recommend this facility for anyone with kids or who just wants to relax and kick back.

My kids could not have been happier and it is excellent having the choice to eat out (great restaurants very nearby) or grab a casual bite "on site" with the family.

My kids are already wanting to go back since there were so many activities nearby that they could not do OR they are looking to experience again.

Great value and better life style + the keys almost guarantees the weather.

Enjoy.

Coco Plum Resort Review

Big Tex28 Dallas, Texas
Review Submitted: September 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I rented two properties for five days at Coco Plum Resort. Rooms were a little dated and could use some fixing up. The clerk at the front desk was a bit rude, this was suprising. I would recommend this property as an affordable vacation for fishing or a vacation on the cheap. Definitly not a property for Age 55, Tourists without a car, and most definitly not for people with disabilities.

No nonsense, no hassle

Keys in August South Jersey
Review Submitted: August 31, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This was my secdond stay at Coco Plum, the first was 4 years ago. I visit thhe keys at least once a year, and have stayed at a number of resorts. I can honestly say that Coco Plum is by far the best value for the vacation dollar. It is a true family resort, with everything you need at hand. The rooms, actually two story villas, provide superior accommodations for large families or groups. The resort is well kept and clean. I highly reccomend this resort for folks trying to stay within a budget, while providing a great vacation experience for their family

Coco Plum Resort is Teriffic!

Mike & M.E. Issue, MD
Review Submitted: July 25, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My wife and I, along with our teenage daughter and niece, spent 7 great days at the Coco Plum and have already recomended it to our friends and family.
If you are looking for new and glittzy then this is not for you. The furnishings are probally late 70's era or early 80's but it is clean, clean, clean.
But if you want a wonderfull place to relax, cook a eat in meal and get a good nights rest this will fill the bill nicely.
The 'staff' is very helpfull and will accomodate you in any way possible. There are tennis rackets and other beach related sports equipment available as well as a lending library of books both recent and past.
The Keys have some of the most beautifull beaches in the world and Coco Plum has a slice of one of the best.
Is there seaweed? Yep, but the grass is a good indicator of the health of the water and the owners keep it raked out of the beach area for the most part.
The gardens and the pool and spa are kept very clean and pleasant and are uncrowded.
The 2 hammocks on the beach, strung between the coconut palms, are a real treat to kick back in and enjoy the view of the ocean as well as to watch the lizzards scamper from tree to sand.
We rented an ocean kayak from a local dealer who delivered it to us and then picked it up when we were done.
The cost the rental kayak was very reasonable and it provided us with a relaxing way to enjoy the water while getting some excercise.
We took a snorkeling trip to Sombero reef and that was a super experience. The cost of that was only $35 per person and it was one of the highlights of the vacation.
I reccomend taking a disposable underwater camera on the trip. You will have the oppurtunity to take pictures of the fish that will swim past you on the reef.
We went to Knight's Key (at the south end of Marathon) and ate dinner at Chappy's twice durning our stay. The menu provided local seafood as well as more traditional chicken and meat dishes. The salads and the mango lime dressing were very good.
All in all it was a very pleasurable experience and we look forward to a return trip the the Coco Plum in a couple of years.
By the way, there is a laundry room for each unit and it is kept clean and stocked with detergent.
The fact that there is a spiral stair case in each unit limits it's use for the handicapped and for some elderly folks.
Even if you stay in the back units the walk to the beach takes less than 1 minute.
Great value, relaxing beach and surroundings. Fun! Fun! Fun!

A PIECE OF HEAVEN

The Fisherman Norristown, PA
Review Submitted: June 1, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Coco Plum should be called a piece of heaven because that's what it is. It was extremely pleasant, quiet, and a beautiful resort. The views were spectacular and the maintenance crews were second to none. The gardens were groomed to make you fell like you are walking in paradise. The pool was heated and made you want to swim all day and night. Our unit was comfortable, clean and designed with thoughts of making your stay enjoyable. We really appreciated the tennis courts as well as other sporting activities that were made avilable free of charge. You also can fish off the docking area and catch various species which we did. We caught yellow tail, grunt, barracudda, and snapper. In conclusion, I will definately return next year. When I say a piece of heaven that's what my stay felt like.

A great place to stay in the Keys

My wife and I were down in Marathon to attend a wedding. After searching the internet we found the Cocoplum and liked what was there. When we arrived we were delighted in the uniqueness of the place; it wasn't another "franchise" same as everyone else resort. The rooms were good and the beach was great! After talking with some other wedding guests we realized we made the right decision by staying here. If you want all the amenities of the larger franchise hotels then don't stay here. BUT if you want a great value and the quaintness that comes with the Cocoplums uniqueness then this is a great place to stay.

TOTALLY STRESS FREE VACATION

Reba eh! Canada
Review Submitted: May 6, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
My first visit to the Flordia Keys and CocoPlum.

Spent 2 weeks at CocoPlum and intend to travel back to the Keys again.

Marathon is a central Key so was very easy to go to Key West or Key Largo for day trips.

CocoPlum has all the conveniences of home, is very spacious, with 2 floors, 2 bdrms and a pullout couch and can sleep 6. The resort is very quiet and peaceful. We walked along the beach for 4 miles everyday and the pool was lovely.

The villa and resort are "super clean" and "well cared for"! The only minor negative is that it is an older facility and needs abit sprucing up. Would certainly stay again and weather was fabulous!

I searched many places on the Internet before booking here. We choose this place because it had everything we were looking for. Our own space, a pool and a beach. We really enjoyed our stay here with another couple and we have already booked our 2010 Vacation here. In fact we have 2 other couple coming back with us. Once they saw my vacation photo book they were ready to book with us.
It was a real nice surprise to have been upgraded to a unit closer to the pool as well.
Thank you for a wonderful 2009 vacation!

Best Beach in the Keys

Conch Wannabe Baltimore, Maryland
Review Submitted: March 24, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Coco Plum is just what you want in an island/keys vacation/break. Beach is the best I've seen in the keys - combed every night with plenty of chairs. Landscaping adds to your experience. Pool and spa were immaculately clean and maintained. Pool also heated - great for MAR swimming. Plams and views abound. Units have everything you need, clean and comfortable. Location is super - easy drive to KW and Islamorada for other keys activities. Check out Porky's & the Turtle Hopital.

Great stay

Thiswas my family's first winter escape and we really lucked out with Coco Plum. The acommodations were exactly what we were looking for. All six of us were able to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped and the staff was first rate. In fact, the staff went out of their way to ensure we had the trip of a lifetime. It was clean and quiet. A perfect base from which to launch a vacation.
