Just Wow

Just Wow! My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at this beautiful cottage and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the property. The location offers the privacy and seclusion that we were seeking. The hosts were friendly and by the end of the stay they were friends. The vistas were great, stars at night magnificent, sunsets breath taking, dawns serene. Home grown and brewed coffee superb.
Owner's Response: Mahalo. Our job is to make your stay as comfortable, enjoyable and informational as possible. We enjoy our piece of paradise and love to share it with others. Thanks again for staying with us. Wayne & Jo

Secluded Cottage

SunnySD San Diego
Review Submitted: October 20, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
The Cottage was well appointed and very comfortable. All we needed was provided and the owners were charming. The view is breathtaking and the surroundings lush.
If you plan on driving to Kona or other attractions take into account that the closest market is 12 miles away, and a drive to Kona takes about 1 hour. The Cottage is a great place if you wish to relax and take it easy. Less convenient if you wish to use it as a base for exploring the island.

The best place for the best price

Wayne's cottage is by far the more relaxing place to stay and enjoy yourself in Hawaii. You are surrounded by a majestic view of the ocean, see beautiful plant life around the property, and be waken up by the cute little hens and roosters that walk around the property.

I really love wayne's cottage because you get access to Satellite TV, a clean place, two beds, a wonderful deck, and peace and quiet.

The biggest highlight of this property is the delicious authentic coffee that wayne produces, naturally on his property. It works just as good as it pure taste. Even better than what you buy at the store.

If you really want a place to stay in Hawaii, Especially, the big island, than pick Wayne whiteside's cottage.

Great cottage

Reino Sammamish, Wa. USA
Review Submitted: August 26, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We stayed at this very private, well furnished cottage for a week this July and loved every minute (well, maybe the roosters the first night weren't lovable) and we found the accommodations everything we could have hoped for. We especially appreciated the suggestions of where to swim and what to see. The week flew by and we could have easily stayed another week just sitting on the deck watching the ocean far below us. Even though the ocean seemed a distance away, it was only five miles to a fantastic beach that Wayne and Jo told us about. Our hosts were so respectful of our privacy, but when asked, were eager to share their wonderful island and all it had to offer.
The coffee that they farm and share with guests is fantastic - be sure and take some home after your visit.
Their farm is a distance out of Kona so be sure and get groceries before you get there. Everything you need to cook anything is there. They have also thoughtfully provided gear to enjoy a day (or two or three) on the beach. We didn't need to rent any equipment. How great is that!
We would love to come again some time. (Hey Wayne, when will that pool be ready?)

Unbedingt Waynes Kaffee probieren.

This
rental property is without doubt the cleanest and most complete in
which we have stayed in the past. Wayne and Jo are able to provide a
wealth of information about the island and are always available for
advice and assistance .The availability of state of the art Television,
a new game room and views of the surrounding area, including the ocean
make this rental exceptional. This is a quiet ,get away from it all,
vacation spot that we would return to in the future .

Honeymoon Vacation

ben&lindsay Orange County, Ca
Review Submitted: May 27, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My wife and I recently stayed at Wayne's Cottage in Papa Bay for seven days from May 16-23 to celebrate our honeymoon. We wanted something slightly removed from the typical "tourist" vibe of Kona. The propery was very well kept, the cottage was in perfect shape with all the amenities you need, and the host/hostess were more than kind, curtious and respectful of privacy. They are also vey honest, unbiased and helpful in recommending snorkling, restaurants, activities, etc. Or take a stroll along the trail that meanders around his property with a cold beverage in hand then have "Uncle" Wayne give you the tour of his coffee making process. One recommendation is to purchase your groceries before you arrive at the residence, as the nearest grocery store or restaurant is about a 15 min drive in either direction...come prepared. There is a Walmart and Safeway in the Kona area, and a ChoiceMart south of Kona on Hwy 11. We honestly have no complaints. Highly recommended.

Perfect

Review Submitted: May 18, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
The first thing we noticed when we walked into the house is the spectacular view from the back porch. You have an unobstructed view of the ocean. We came back in and felt extremely spoiled by the 50 something inch HDTV (with HD cable). Anyone concerned about there being 2 smaller beds: don't be. The beds were easily pushed together and with the rubber feet they stayed together. The shower room really is Great... great big! You will not feel crowded in that unique room while showering. All the utensils, pans, and other miscellaneous things were provided, all you have to do is show up with your clothes (optional) and some food.

The locations was very good for us (my wife and I). The house is located in Papa Bay which is away from all the hustle and bustle. There weren't that many other houses nearby, we never saw a neighbor. That made for very relaxing, quiet nights. I'm pretty sure Kailua Kona is about an hour north, and the Volcanoes an hour south. So it's really in the middle of all the "good stuff."

Wayne welcomed us into his house for a short chat with his wife and made us feel right at home. Then he showed us how he makes his tasty Kona coffee (pretty neat little setup he's got.) Other than that, they never bothered us, so that's good if you like your privacy.

Overall we had a good time at the house. I've never experienced nights so dark and silent. We give this one two thumbs up!
