We had the great pleasure of staying at La Buena Vida from June 19 - 27th. The house by far is one of the cleanest houses our family has ever rented or even been in for that matter. Tim, the house manager, was very very accomidating and was always just a phone call away with ANY questions you may have about anything! He took us out on our boat tour and actually had dolphins follow us in the river for about five minutes playing in our boats wake. Unbelievable! If you have the opportunity to stay at this house you WILL NOT be dissappointed by anything. Great location, great house, great contacts all in all this was a great week for our family! Thank you Tim!!!!

A truly relaxing holiday at a beautiful villa

Suke Cambridgeshire, England
Review Submitted: May 17, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
La Buena Vida was excellently and truthfully described and we enjoyed a marvellous holiday there. The villa is luxuriously furnished, very well equipped, and extremely clean and comfortable. Tim, the manager, was very helpful and informative, and our first excursion on the boat with him was very useful and interesting. Following Tim's advice, we managed to encourage a group of 6 dolphin to follow and play in the wake of the boat, a very memorable experience. The local shopping and restaurant facilities are excellent. We particularly enjoyed the meals and service at Rum Runners.

Fantastic home

Review Submitted: February 24, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
Our family of three shared the house with another family of four. The kids were teenagers and they each had their own bedrooms. Four full baths were great! Tim is very trusting of his guests. Their was no security deposit and he only sought about 40% of the rental fee prior to the arrival date. Our kids enjoyed the bikes provided. (Bring two helmets). We had kayaks delivered to the property by Kayak Excursions (one was motorized) and Tim accomodated us by having a new ladder installed on the dock one day after we arrived. (He was going to get a ladder eventually for the new dock to be built later this year but rushed the ladder just for us!) House was clean and roomy. Tim is a hands-on manager. I'd highly recommend the property. The house is fully furnished with soaps, towels, kitchen utensils, spices, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. (You may want to see the supplies before going for your first grocery store run).

Owner's Response: Thank you Eric & Sue,
for the wonderful review, I did not charge a security as the family that stayed with you was returning for the 2nd time.
I look forward to your return.
Good Day Tim

We went for a get-away week in September. The house was gorgeous, clean and beautifully furnished. We were the first people to see the new plush carpeting. The sunsets were best enjoyed from the hot tub. We had great times on the boat and Cabbage Key is not to be missed. Shelling at Sanibel and great dining at the restaurants topped off our vacation. We only regret that we didn't have enough time during the week to play golf.

We plan to return again to La Buena Vida and would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends.

review for La Buena Vida

We stayed in this house over March break of 2008. It is very clean, modern, well-equipped, laid out nicely for large families, (or for two small families). The location is nice for good access to Ft. Myers airport, Ft. Myers beach, Sanibel Island, and Cape Coral. The boat is great, and when Tim took us out for our orientation, he managed to get some dolphins to swim right behind for our boat! (the highlight of the whole trip!!) If we're ever staying in that area again, we'd definitely rent this property again!

Our stay at La Buena Vida

JSJRS Ontario, Canada
Review Submitted: May 27, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
We had a great vacation in Cape Coral and thouroughly enjoyed our stay at La Buena Vida. The location was excellent, close to great restaurants, Rum Runners one of our favourites and shopping. Many malls nearby. The home was the perfect size for our family (everyone had their own room) and everything was there, ie. towels, cookware. The pool was warm, clean and great entertainment. Tim was a great host giving the guys an wonderful demonstration of the boat and the area to explore. We loved Cabbage Key and the view of the dolphins from the boat. The carpets were stained and should be replaced or professionally cleaned but overall the home was very clean and the grounds well maintained for a older home. We would recommend this home to friends.
Thank you.

Thanksgiving family vacation

AndyG Bettendorf, Iowa
Review Submitted: May 27, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2007
Brought the whole family (two kids, their wives and two young grandchildren) down here for Thanksgiving week, 2007. The place was fabulous. Plenty of space for everyone. Great kitchen, eating areas and TV room. Everyone loved the large pool and great hot tub (kids loved the bubbles). The experience was topped off with the boat included in the rental. After Tim, the Owners rep, showed us the ins and outs of the boat, the canal system and the inland water way we had a great time on the ocean. Restaurants in the area were great, including those available from the canal by boat. Had a great time. Tim was most helpful and the house was everything we hoped it would be.

The name says it all! We spent a glorious two weeks at the house and had the most amazing trip. The house was everything you could ever want, and then some. It was like being at your very own private resort! We loved to just relax by the pool or take a bike ride. The boat was awesome, we did lots of great fishing. It was so convenient to be down the street from Cape Harbour, filled with great shops and restaurants. The house is in such a great and convenient location. When not relaxing, we spent time down in Naples and over on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We also took the boat up to Cabbage Key for lunch a few times, always a special treat! We cannot wait to return and will recommend to family and friends.

We have vacationed for many years in Florida and Cape Coral has been our fmost favorite yet, restraunts, shopping, boating, is all right there, friendly and safe community. The ammenties and furnishings were more than the description listed for the property on the web-site. Service was excellent and staff was very friendly. Tim the house manager was available day or night to answer any questions we had and met our every need. This was a great place for family fun. We look forward to going again.

Guestbook Comment

I can only confirm the comments made in the guestbook. What Tim Winkelman offers is in one word fantastic. I do not think that you can find a better place. Besides renting a house there is the equally fantastic support given by Tim. I only hope that because of all these comments Tim will not get so many bookings that he will be fully booked by the time that I need one of his villas.
