Away from it all in the coffee belt

My family and I just returned from eight glorious days at this beautiful home and we agree completely with every compliment the other reviewers made.
This is the home for you if you want to experience the real Hawaii. It is definitely away from it all. Having stayed in the heart of Kailua-Kona a few times, this was a much quieter and private place to stay.
It was such a pleasure not only enjoying this very comfortable home, but the local shopping area as well. We found a great yoga studio, book store, natural food market, pizza place (Patz Pies, yum!), antique store and art gallery.
If you like coffee, and nothing compares to real Kona coffee, you will be happy to know that this home is located right in the "coffee belt" region of the Big Island. We thoroughly enjoyed checking out the local coffee farms. It was a great way to get to know the local farmers and learn about the area. Looking back at that outing, I think it was kind of like wine tasting in the Napa Valley, but with caffeine.
My 11 year old twins loved this house, too. They had a blast swimming in the pool, watching the colorful and curious geckos, and snorkeling in the area.
This review would not be complete without a special note about the owner, John Dennison. He is as nice a person you could ever hope to meet. Relaxed, gracious, helpful, warm and welcoming. His local caretaker, Krista is also wonderful. We felt very reassured that she was always available for any questions we had.
In short, this was by far the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation we have ever had and will be back again.
