Just what our family needed !

We Love Alora Aberdeen
Review Submitted: April 30, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
Stayed her April 2008, unfortunately it rained for two days, but otherwise the weather was good. Not too hot so that you would burn easily, but nice to walk around in. Anyway, enough of the weather I should be talking about the house. The place was gorgeous. As previous people said, it has lots of character and is very spacious which was good for our family. There is also satellite TV, hi fi system, dvd player , video player and a stack of DVD's and videos's to watch plus lot of books to read - all free, which is a really nice touch. The location is near a typical Spanish village, so don't expect too much pie beans ad gravy. There are 3 or 4 British type bars and restaurants around which are great for food, but there are also plenty good Spanish / European restaurants as well, plus Chinese.

The pool was good, not heated though, but that didn't stop the kids going in allday, everyday !!

Quality of the house was good and the views from the terrace were fantastic. We would receommend this place for families, groups of friends or for a treat for a couple looking for something a bit different - especially the ensuite bathroom - wow !!

This was our second time at the property, but the first time we've beena ble to leave a review. Thank you holiday-rentals, now we can tell everyone that we love this place. Let me start by saying it may not be everyones cup of tea, as it is more traditionally Spanish than the normal tourist village, but there are also a lot of British people who live here permanently, so for us, there was a good mix of Spanish everyday life and english speaking people. The house is large, and is really wonderfully decorated with lots of interesting features. Even the wall lights going up the stairs are like to old tiles on the roof , there is character everywhere ! We have been here in the summer - July 2006 and just got back from week in March 2008. Summer is hot and dry. You will love the pool. The house has aircon in the main living room and masterbedroom, with ceiling fance everywhere else. We found the fans to be sufficient, but others may feel as if they need aircon everywhere. The location is good for local bars, restaurants and village shops, but you will probably want to go up the hill to the main town where there are larger supermarkets and more shops if you plan on buying a lot of food to cook. When we left, there was a new outdoor kitchen and dining area being completed for the villa and it looks wonderful. Locally, you can eat and drink for not a lot of money and meet some of the "interesting" locals, who will try to help you learn Spanish if you wish. If you need help Roy and Denise are there on hand to help you out. Nothing seemed too much trouble.

Great family holiday - a bit of the real spain

Loved Alora !! Wiltshire
Review Submitted: March 18, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2007
We stayed here last summer and had a fantastic family holiday. The villa was in its own grounds, which were completely enclosed and there is a huge pool. The accomodation was in good condition and the features in the villa are really something - I bet everyone who leaves here thinks the same thing - "I wish we had a place like thi s!!" There were three good sized double rooms, one good sized twin and a smaller twin. Fine for 6 adults and 4 kids maximum. The only down side I would put to the property is that there is not a great deal else to do for the kids other than play in the pool or the garden area. However, as they were never out the pool, maybe I'm just being picky. Nearby there are six or seven bars and restaurants you can walk to, with a few others just a little bit further away - but still in walking distance. If you want more variety, or like to go to differenet places, then you may want a car to go up to the main town. It's only a mile or so away, but it's uphill and not everyone could walk there. If not, go to one of the bars across the road and ask them to call you a taxi. They were all really helpful and friendly. In short, a great place for friends and family to go. You don't get the mad tourist crowd normally seen on the coast, and there are less restaurants and bars than in Fuengirola or Marbella, but this is a great place to be to see true spanish life.

Peace in the Spanish Sunshine

Review Submitted: February 11, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2007
We holidayed here in September 2007 and our family had a wonderful time. The villa is in a typical Spanish village and is far removed from the maddening tourist crowd which suited us just fine. Great pool and absolutely gorgeous views. For a family of 8, we had enough places to eat and drink nearby and if you want to drive up the hill to the main town, there is even more choice. Overall view, fantastic value if you want a piece of the real Spain.

My holiday

Review Submitted: February 10, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2007
I stayed in this house in July/August last year and yes it is a fantastic house but sadly the advert is misleading. The air conditioning applies to the main bedroom and the living room only and having experienced a holiday the previous year without air conditioning this was one of the main reasons we booked this particular property. Too hot to sleep without it!!
Not many decent restaurant unless you have a car and are prepared to drive.
Good experience but not one I would repeat.
Had to ask for my deposit back, and even then it took 4 months so make sure you don't forget to ask.

Owner's Response: Always glad of feedback..........Whetehr positive or negative. However, this feedback is slightly inaccurate. The renter knwe about the air conditioning. She also omits to say that there are ceiling fans in all the main rooms which cool the house down as well. I don't understand the comment on restaurants etc, as there are approx 10 restaurants within walking distance. Maybe she was just too fussy............or didn't like the real Spain an wanted to be on the overcrowded coastline with it's British Bars etc........

There has never...ever... been a problem in returning someones deposit, however it usually helps if the person gives you the correct bank account details in the first place.
