This apartment was exactly as described. Sol was really nice and helpful. Check in was smooth. Location was excellent. Really, I do not have a single complaint. It was so comfortable that I was sad to leave on my last day!
Owner's Response: thanks a lot
You were lovely customers!

Madrid apartment

Review Submitted: September 14, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We have just had a long weekend in the orange apartment, which is lovely. Location is great, walking distance of all we wanted to see, & the apartment is extremely well appointed, clean & comfortable. Little extras make all the difference, such as dishwasher tablets & shower gel being supplied, and coffee & basics in the cupboard - even a first aid kit! Good selection of music & DVDs too for all ages. Nuria answered all emails promptly & was very helpful. My purse was stolen on the Metro on the way in from the airport & Sol could not have been kinder, giving us assistance & even offering to come to the police station with us - thank you Sol! We loved Madrid, & will definitely be back - in the same apartment if it's vacant!!

Why stay in a hotel?

Review Submitted: August 29, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Spending a week in Nuria's charming orange apartment in Madrid was a highlight of a wonderful trip to Spain from which my wife and daughter and I recently returned. Everything promised in her listing was true: the apartment is conveniently located in a historic building, beautifully decorated, and amazingly well equipped with every modern appliance you might need. And the air conditioning works so well that Madrid in July was not a problem. If that was not enough, Nuria, who lives in San Sebastian, and her local apartment manager, Sol, went more than the extra mile to assure that our stay in Spain was perfect. I will never again pay as much (or more likely more) for a hotel room in Madrid when we can enjoy the space, convenience, and comfort of Nuria's apartment.
Owner's Response: thanks it was lovely to meet you an your family in san sebastian!

Perfect Apartment

After reading all the good reviews we decided to stay here for our visit to Madrid with our two young daughters. Sol was there to greet us and the apartment was spotless.

I can just confirm previous reviews are very accurate; the apartment is modern, the location is perfect, you can pretty much walk to all the sights in the old town, subway stop is 5 minutes away as well as good restaurants and a supermarket. We also felt totally safe in that area.

We would definately recommend it to friends and family and stay here again.

Only warning is that it is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator.

Majestic Madrid

Dearest NURIA and SOL,
thanks so much for making our stay here so positive. The appartment was just as advertised - clean, neat and excellent value for the money. Sol - thanks for being so prompt in giving us access to the appartment, and for sharing your local knowledge of the nearby quarter.
Retiro Park is a 100% must to visit while in Madrid (only 16 mins. walk from the appt.). The boating lake and the Crystal Palace were sheer delights. Prado Museum was magnificent from the outside and wonderful within. Walking around Madrid is a must, in able to absorve all the beautiful buildings and their facades. Not once did we make use of the Metro - it would be a shame to miss out on whats happening up top! The night life is of course what its all about - relaxing for example around Plaza Santa Ana for a drink, or taking in a tapas restaurant for to sample the true Spanish culinary delights.
Guess what - we loved Madrid.
Jessie & Chaz

viva Madrid!

We stayed in this flat for a romantic week.
From the first minute, eveything was great. Our computer was broken, and to our surprise there is a computer available in the flat.
We went to a couple of places that Sol recommended and they were absoluty great. We can't get over the crowds in the street in Madrid so late. our hometowm seems like a ghost city to us now. The flat is fantastic, and there are a couple of handy shops with the basics in front of the building, open until late.
We didn't really use the kitchen because Madrid is great for eating out. We used the fridge to keep our cold beers in!
You can tell everyone is the same as the kitchen seemed untouched! My conclusion is that Madrid is such a great city and we are really coming back.
This convenient flat made things so much easier and its walkable location allows you to make the most of your time in the city.

Top class

Review Submitted: May 28, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
A great location for a top class trip to Madrid. FIve minutes walk and you are at the Puerta del Sol. All the good stuff was in easy reach either walking or just a quick metro ride. The apartment was really cosy and the decoration very tasteful indeed, YOu can even get a decent curry in this same street!!!
The internet connection didn't work the first night we were there, but that was sorted out the very next day and apart from that everything was great.

Cheers ladies - we will be back
Owner's Response: Thanks a lot, you are the best costumers ever.

Madrid Apartment

Review Submitted: May 20, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
The apartment was very nice and well appointed. We had trouble with the lock getting into the apartment several times-spending up to 10 minutes trying to get the door to open. There was an apartment overhead and the tenant did not come in until after 2 PM and as late as 4PM and was quite noisey. There is a small courtyard adjacent to the apartment and the locals congregated there to talk (loadly), play bongo drums, etc. until well after midnight. on the plus side, we found the location to be very convienent to the metro and several downtown sightseeing areas. It was equiped with wireless internet and we were able to use e-mail and our majicjack phone that allowed us to call home for free. If you stay, I suggest trying to get the upper top floor.

Owner's Response: We are glad you were happy at the apartment.
If you have a problem such as the lock, you should notify inmediatly so we can send someone to fix it. We provide you a contact mobile phone for all the problems that should be reported inmediatly to keep up our standards. This mobile number is displayed on your booking sheet, the apartment door, and the apartment booklet of information. If the lock is stucked, it sounds more reasonable to fix it rather than complaining afterwards. This way you would also be helpful as it won't affect future tenants.
As regards the noise, it can be a bit noisy, particularly on weekends, but that's the price you pay in Madrid to be central, all the Sol-central area is very alive, even though we think is one of the charms in Madrid, where a traffic jam can be worst at 2am than during the day.
Also, we would appreciate that if you book for 2 people, a couple, don't use the sofabed without permission, as we don't provide sheets if you don't book it. We should have discounted that from the deposit, as at least you should have asked for sheets if you wanted to use separated beds. it is very clear on our website the differet prices when using only bed or bed+sofabed.
