I have been going to Malta now for over 20 years. I have stayed in some bad hotels and some good apartments, mainly in the tourist area of Bugibba, Sliema etc. This year I decided to do something different and went for this apartment in a quite village in Zebbug, which is in the centre of Malta. Well it was the best thing I have ever done. My trip was a combination of business and pleasure it catered for all my needs, including free internet. My business partner and I took the apartment and arrived in the midst of the village fiesta. What an occasion that was! If you have never experienced a Maltese fiesta before please do so – it is absolutely amazing. The weekend nights had parties in the street that lasted well into the early hours of the morning. Forget the local tourist traps of clubs and discos – if you like culture mixed with partying like the locals choose a fiesta. Although the village was quite it was fine as the village is within striking distance to all historical sites (nowhere in Malta is far away). The apartment was amazing! The property is brand new and finished to high specifications and tastefully decorated offering a comfortable and relaxed stay. It had air conditioning in the living room and both bedrooms. We had a large balcony overlooking the old town of Mdina and the villages beyond Zebbug. When we came back in the late afternoon we slapped on some meat on the available gas BBQ, opened a cold bottle of white wine and just listened to the sound of silence. Wonderful! Kitchen was also well furnished with a dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. There was even a washing machine too just in case anyone felt the urge to do their smalls. The apartment outlived our expectation, in fact although the photos on the website are accurate; they do not do it justice as the real thing was much better than the photos. The best thing of all; it was not the fantastic fiesta, or the tranquil village life, nor excellent furnished apartment, it was the owner; Rita! Even though we arrived about midnight, she was there to greet us, still smiling at that time of night and came over during the week to see if we needed anything. Rita could not do enough for us and her hospitality was second to none. There is only one word to describe our week’s experience at this apartment – OUTSTANDING. You can forget the tourist trap – any future visits to Malta – Zebbug and the Il Girna Apartments is the one for me! Will definitely return!

The apartment is immaculate and fitted out with personal touches to make you feel at home. It is airy and spacious with a large terrace that provides both sun and shade at all times of the day. Located in a wonderful and central location on the island, Haz-Zebbug is a lovely quiet town. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax. This property is a must for anyone wanting to avoid the overcrowded tourist areas and enjoy being central to the whole island.
The welcome we received from Rita was warmer than the amazing weather. From meeting us at the airport, to the guided tour of the town and an introduction to the fabulous pastizzi’s - we thank you!

Staying in Zebbug was lovely - away from the tourist traps and in a very local area that was yet very accessible to all parts of the island. Rita - Thank you for being the perfect hostess - for greeting us at the airport, showing us around Zebbug and that great bakery with the pastizz - showing us to Mdina and for the Easter Sunday figolla! You made our trip to Malta so much more enjoyable:)
We would love to come back and explore Malta (and next time Gozo) a lot more!

I have recently stayed at this property from. 15 to 19th Nov 08. Having stayed at 3 hotel for the previous three nights where one of the hotels was disgusting and smelt of damp, I was relieved when I arrived at this apartment. It was like being at home. The property owner was lovly. She was very polite and extremely helpful no matter what time we called her. She had bought us bread, milk, bottled water, tea bags coffee, none of which we have expected. It was a lovly surprise. She had provided all the essentials we needed. The apartment was modern, tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. I would recommend deeply that this apartment is way better than staying at one one hotels in Malta. You pay less than a hotel and get a lot more value for your money. The location of this apartment is ideal for people who want to explore. It is pretty central and very easily accessable by car. The crafts village was about 15 mins away in a car, Mdina and Rabat were about 20-25 mins away in a car. There was a really tasty take away in Zebbug Town Centre which had delicious fish and chips. I didn't travell on public transport so can't really say on how accesible other towns are by this method. The town was pretty quite. I would definelty recommend this apartment to people travelling to Malta! I was very impressed. Hardly anything is open on Sunday or during the day between 1 to 4 ish in majority of Malta so keep a lot of snacks on you when travelling as we had the problem of shops being closed a lot.

It has been the first time I rent an apartment via internet and it has been a total success. The apartment is perfectly located in Zebbug, a quite village in the center of Malta, so we were near everywhere as Malta is not a very big island. The flat is equiped with everything we need and the decoration is really nice but not as the owner, Rita. She helped us at any moment. All our questions were solved inmediately. She also recommended us what to visit and where to go. In general, all maltese people are really nice and helpful.
I honestly recommend this flat to everybody.
