lovely home from home only better

Review Submitted: November 12, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
it was love at first site, the location was brill, a short drive and the most lovely beach iv seen in years,I got up at 7am and took my dog for a walk along it.
The location was brill not far from lands end, up to Padstow, only went for three days but went everywere,
in the evening we had the log fire on and i lay on the couch very comfy and seen all my soaps.
The kitchen was very large and we ate at the big table, everything you could think of was there like home without the clutter a place for everything.
The garden was lovely sadly we did not use the barbe as it was november.
just up the road i found a publick walkway that i took the dog down he loved it, i used the stair gate to keep him in the kitchen, muddy paws he was happy with that i wished we had stayed longer,The bathroom was lovely and the bedrooms i slept better than i had in months silence,
My husband is not fully mobile and he had no problem, what more can i say perfect, from 2 old gits from noisey heathrow
Owner's Response: A tremendous review. I notice the reviewers husband had mobility problems and we are glad all was OK. It might be wise for other enquirers to contact me if a member of their party has mobility problems. I would hate anyone to have difficulties as there are stairs and a couple steps in the garden.

Gemütliches und sehr gut ausgestattes Cottage

Review Submitted: September 16, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Übrigens: Der Pub The White Hart - ca. 4 KM vom Haus entfernt - hat sehr gutes Essen.

August in Cornwall

Alan, bernie, family + dog Newcastle upon Tyne
Review Submitted: August 31, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We spent a week at the cottage following 5 nights camping in Somerset. It was a joy to find a clean, well equiped, pretty cottage with a fab garden. Our teenage kids (19, 17 and 14 years) had plenty to keep them occupied, mainly swimming and body boarding and although it was peak season, we had no trouble finding reasonably quiet beaches. There are several places to eat within walking/ short drive distance but we were pulled by the bbq and cooking facilities at the cottage and enjoyed eating in and watching DVD's. There was no shortage of beaches which permit dogs and the cottage, whilst being 'dog friendly' left no trace of previous cannine visitors! The cottage is ideally placed for easy access to St Ives and Penzance. Local scenery is outstanding and there are several good walks from the cottage. I would highly recommend a stay at Dharma house.

Great cottage, great location

We spent hours (days!) trying to find a cottage in Cornwall near to the coast but at a reasonable price..and Dharma House fitted the bill perfectly. It's only 5 miles to St Ives in one direction & Penzance in the other. There's loads to see and do - fabulous beaches, fishing ports, coast & country walks (can walk to Trencom Hill from the cottage door & get 360 views right down to the coast), and only an hour to Padstow, etc.
The cottage was extremely well equipped, even down to a bag of charcoal for the BBQ, and very comfortable. Great family sized kitchen & new bathroom. Lovely sunny garden during the day (loses the sun at 6ish). In all, a really good spot for families. Two weeks wasn't enough for us!

Delightful cottage

Review Submitted: June 2, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
A real treasure. A well equipped character cottage in a lovely quiet location. Plus it's own private sunny garden with a barbeque. Plenty of room for 5 of us, two adults, two teenagers and a toddler.
We were made to feel most welcome by all the homely touches.
The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the many beautiful areas and diverse attractions. We went to several wonderful costal sites and beaches, Flambards theme park, the Seal Sanctury and Paradise Park. There is so much to do and see in the area for all age groups, and plenty of nice places to eat, although the kitchen has everything you could need for cooking.
We spent evenings sitting in the garden, or playing board games, a perfect family home.
A week wasn't long enough, we are planning on going again.

Easter Holiday

Review Submitted: April 13, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
A lovely, well equipped cottage, finished to a very high standard. A great base to explore this part of Cornwall, being minutes from either coast. Good local pubs/food etc. A few minutes in either direction to supermarkets/fuel. Car parking sounds a good distance away in the description, but it's actually directly across a quite lane. My family (2 adults+2 children) were very comfortable - we made good use of the wood-burner as the evenings were cool. I would recommend - Porthleven (nice harbour, good restaurants - try Kota), St.Ives - we used the Park&Ride train service - 5-mins away from cottage, great views of the beaches etc; The White Hart in Ludgvan was great pub; beaches - Praa Sands, Kynance Cove (nice walk to the Lizard) - both excellent;Falmouth is worth a visit - surprisingly easy to get In/Out - we parked in front of the Museum in the harbour and strolled into town. For animal lovers, try the National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek - wouldn't suggest via Redruth, bit of a nightmare, suggest via Helston. Also, Shire Horse Centre at Treskillard (aim for Four Lanes, need good map). If weather is not good, St Austell brewery worth a visit. Enjoy your holiday!

March Getaway

Keen Ramblers Cambridgeshire
Review Submitted: March 29, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
This is an extremely pleasant holiday rental - well equipped, very well presented and comfortable. It is equally suited to a couple, a small family or two sets of friends as the available space is well planned and the garden is an added bonus. The location is ideal - easy to get to and, once you are there, close to all kinds of different activities, interests and scenery. The coastal walks and beaches are inspiring and the pretty little inland villages a delight. A week was not enough to enjoy everything that this area has to offer.

Cosy Cottage

Review Submitted: February 24, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
We had a really enjoyable stay in this cottage. It was perfect for the 2 of us and our dog. The log burning stove was great for chilly evenings and the kitchen was very well equipped. Fantastic bathroom and large main bedroom although the bed was a little too soft for us!

All in all, very good value cottage in an excellent location for explring this part of Cornwall.

Perfect winter break

Review Submitted: January 23, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
What a wonderful location for a winter break. Cottage was beautifully presented and very well equipped. The wood burner was a very welcome surprise for a cold January and the welcome pack was incredibly thoughtful after such a long journey. The lounge was cosy and comfortable, whereas the kitchen is equipped for everything. The new bathroom was great, very pleasant surprise for such a traditional cottage.
We had a wonderful visit to Marazion. Visiting the local art galleries, ‘Out of the Blue’ being my personal favourite as well as going for a blustery walk on the beach. The Lamb and Flag pub up the road was very pleasant, good food, warm atmosphere and not too busy. We also went to the White Heart at Ludgvan which was also very nice, what we would call a proper Cornish pub.
We visited St Ives on a Saturday and it was terrific. Not too busy during the winter. We were able to catch the park and ride from Lelant which meant we didn’t have to try and park in the centre on St Ives.
We had a truly wonderful long weekend; we wish we could have stayed much longer. There was so much to see that we’ll definitely be back for a second visit. Thank you for such a lovely break and we look forward to coming again.

Dharma House December 2008

Gus&Charlie Derbyshire
Review Submitted: December 24, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2008
My wife and I plus our two dogs spent a very good six days here in December with our son coming down for the last two. A very pleasant and well presented cottage. The welcome pack was great. The kitchen was a good size particularly for those that want to cook though on holiday we tend to eat out most nights. While the bedroom down stairs is small upstairs there is a twin and a large double...plenty of space. The dogs made themselves comfortable sleeping by the fire particularly as they spent each day walking a different part of the area which was the intention of the trip. Plenty of places to stop and eat at lunch time and in the evening. Any one else thinking of the same thing the best website we have found is doggiepubs.co.uk. There were many places in the local area and we walked to as many as we had time.
