Relaxing Sky Breezes

Shannon & Glenn Gibraltar
Review Submitted: November 18, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
The perfect place to relax, Brisas del Cielo is a very well equipped villa. Clean and well mantained, the main house is airy, spacious and nicely furnished, loved the dining table and the tall wooden candlesticks. The downstairs consists of a big kitchen, toilet, dinning area, sitting room and utility room with extra freezer and fridge. Upstairs there are 2 twin/double rooms, a bathroom and a master bedroom with an ensuite shower room/toilet with twin sinks.
The view from the master bedroom is awesome, I loved waking up in the middle of the night to watch the full moon shining on the lake, from bed. The silence is incredible, the quietest place I've been too, the most you'll hear if you hear anything is a car going by once a day. The porch has a large table with enough seating for 10-12 people.
The back garden(designed by the Ground Force team UK) has the BBQ and extra seating area with superb views over the lake! The lawned pool area can be reached by the front or back of the house, a very nice sized pool, though not "available" as the weather was not that warm, Gordon was very helpful in arranging to have it cleaned for our use, we usually start bathing around April in Gib, as soon as weather permits!
The pool house is an extra bonus with it's own bedroom, shower/toilet, kitchenette and lounge area. You will find many books to read in the pool and main house, and extra cushions and candle lanterns can be found in the utility room.
The surrounding countryside is beautiful, great for walking, with loads of almond trees all around, if you are adventurous you can walk down through the terraced hills to the lake.
The village of Istan is small but sweet, a nice place to stroll and have a drink or meal, there's a small well stocked grocers and a bakery which sells freshly baked breads and cakes/pastries. The small street market is on Saturdays and the fruit and veg there are very cheap.
Close to Marbella and Puerto Banus and about 1 hour from Gibraltar,
you basically have the Costa del Sol at your feet, the only downside was the way down from the main road which was bumpy in places, but a minor thing for all the peace and tranquility you will experience in this property.

Wonderful location, great memories

Despite having a mental image of the property from the details on the site we where not prepared for what we experienced when we arrived. In one word - Wow!
The property and location exceeded our expectations and we just walked around for the first hour just grinning. The property was spotlessly clean and was equipped to the highest of standards, nothing disappointed us. The views are amazing and the tranquility ensured we wound down into holiday mode very quickly.
Gordon provided an excellent service and was attentive of our needs. There where a few teething problems as we where the first people to stay at the property since it went on the rental market, these problems where all sorted quickly and without any fuss.
I would not hesitate to go back to this villa, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from it all and not have the hustle and bustle of the world right on your doorstep.

Room with a view

We had quite an ecelctic mix staying for a week in October, ranging in age from 10months to 50+ and each one of us had a fantasic holiday. Only 10-15mins drive from Puerto Banus, the house is a real get away from it all. Lazy days spent by the pool and banquet dinners on the terrace watching the sun go down. The house had everything we needed from a blow up dolphin for the pool, all kitchen utensils to the mandatory sky sports! A veritable chilled home from home.

Simply Wondeful!

We stayed at the finca in late September and had a thoroughly wonderful stay. The villa met and exceeded our every expectation. (And the weather was amazing!)

The listing information and photos were very accurate. The villa was immaculately clean, very well equipped and furnished and very appealing. From the welcome note, the bottle of wine, lots of staples, to candles on the patio table, the villa had all that we could wish for. The owners were very helpful both before and during our stay - we could not have asked for better hosts.

We loved the location - close to the charming mountain town of Istan as well as the cosmopolitan city of Marbella - the best of both worlds. We visited Ronda, Cordoba, Grenada, had a beach day in Marbella, kayaked on the resevoir, hiked in the mountains - it was simply wonderful!

We would not hesitate to recommend this villa to friends and family and hope to return some day ourselves. Sitting on the covered patio at sunset enjoying that wondeful view with friends and a glass of wine are some of my fondest memories of this trip. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Wonderful find in Andalusia

This villla is quite comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked. Stunning mountains rise up in every direction. A reservoir undulates below. These views make the outdoor eating area adjacent to the kitchen a truly unique spot. The curved, blue-green swimming pool is an "infinity" pool: water flows over one edge and is recirculated from a secondary basin below. Resting on this edge, tensions fade away and there is just hot sun, cool water, and mountains. We felt fortunate to spend a week in such a peaceful, isolated place, especially given the proximity to the bustle of ultra-chic Puerto Banus.

Heavenly

Beautiful location far from the brashness of Marbella. The house is clean and comfortable with good quality towels, beds and facilities. Plenty of comfortable furniture inside and out. We had young adults in the annex who enjoyed the privacy although had a problem with the shower but that's a minor detail. We all enjoyed kayaking, fishing and swimming in lake. Also recommend finding out about local walks. We took a good guide book and had a wonderful walk out beyond Istan through cork trees, orchards and took a detour down to the river for a refreshing dip. We had a great day out at Aqualand near Malaga. The beaches and towns beyond Tarifa are only a couple of hours away. We had a couple of days on that side before flying home from Seville. Much less developed although hotter and windier. The english owners of the villa were helpful and we found the booking process easy. Highly recommended.

One perfect week.

A family 1 week away Soest, Utrecht, The Netherlands
Review Submitted: September 6, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We've had a perfect stay at the end of April 2009. What we really appreciated was the presence of some cold beers and wine directly available upon our arrival. Our week started a little cold, but the house offered a lot of comfort, including the cosy fireplace, which we used of course. After that we discovered the beautifull environment by walking some trails up and down the hills. It was nice to be able kayaking one morning with the kids. The kayak was big enough for one adult and 2 kids. The swimming pool was just filled and available, so the temperature was unfortunately freezing cold... but with a few ours of burning sun, this turned out an irresistable cooling opportunity! A little remark is the dangerous edge at the end of the pool, we made a barrier with a rope, otherwise one of our kids could have falled down with some floating toys. So we rate the pool not to safe for playing kids. But that is only remark we have, all the rest was perfect and in line with our expectations. The gas barbeque with the view, super! Certainly this house a worth a second visit. Andries van Schalkwijk, Netherlands.

A most relaxing week in a fabulous finca

Pam & Tim Nottingham
Review Submitted: August 31, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The weather was beautiful, the views are stunning and the accomodation is exactly as described - what a wonderfully relaxing week.
The directions to the finca from Malaga airport were exactly right, making the journey (approx 35 mins) very stress free.
The finca was clean and tidy with plenty of comfortable furniture, well equipped modern kitchen and good gas barbeque.
Just 2 things that may be worth adding to the description - 2 lovely little cats consider the place their own and whilst we enjoyed their company this may be a problem to anyone with a cat allergy. Also, because the finca is on a steep hillside there is very little "bat and ball area" for children to play - again not a problem to us, but maybe a consideration for others.
However dont let that detract from this beautiful finca - we had a wonderful week and intend to return.

Perfect Summer Hideaway

Review Submitted: August 17, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
An absolute slice of holiday perfection, beautiful villa - tastefully decorated as well for a change - in a quiet location that's perfect to go and reduce your stress levels to zero. It looks even better in real life than the picture.

The only thing I think it's worth pointing out is there is nothing within walking distance of the house which certainly isn't a problem but is good to know.

Book this villa - you'll be the hero of anyone who goes with you.

Crawford/Halls July 2009

Review Submitted: August 16, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The setting of the house on the mountain side overlooking the lake is beautiful. The house was very clean and well looked after. There was ample space for our party of 4 adults and 4 children. Although the house is secluded there was plenty for the children to do. The lake is within walking distance and we enjoyed kayaking and swmming. The pretty town of Istan is at the top of the hill with a few restaurants and grocery shops.

The nearest supermarket is appoximately 10km away but is well stocked and Marbella is not much further away anyway.

I would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking for a peaceful, get away from it all, holiday. I'm sure in the autumn/spring the walks around the property would be fantastic - but it was too hot to do this in July!
