A Fantastic Place to Stay!

Jenn7 Empire Bay, Australia
Review Submitted: November 18, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Our family of 4 adults and 1 child stayed in this apartment for our first trip to Britain from Australia. We loved the space, the kitchen, the beautiful flowering courtyard and the excellent proximity to public transport.Fred and Iris are lovely, friendly people and also very helpful. The apartment is very clean and just as portrayed on the internet. We loved the inner-city feel of Bayswater/Paddington and the short walk to Hyde Park. The only hard part was leaving!!

This is an excellent apartment. We loved it!

We stayed for four nights dutring the October half term break with our 3 kids aged 5, nearly 7 and 8.

Fred and Irish are really professional and make everything clear from day 1. They couldn't be more helpful to us ... starting with Fred collecting us at the Platform at Paddington Station and taking us on the short walk to the flat continuing with providing us with the loan of two Oyster cards which are the only way to travel on the tube .... the kitchen was well stocked with food to get us started. Fred and Irish took plenty of time to show us around and also to advise us on where to go and what to do in London.

The flat is clean modern and very well equipped with toys and books for the kids and a very impressive DVD colection which we availed of each evening! The computer with free access to Broadband internet access was great for booking tickets to the London Eye googling which tube was nearest to where, finding discount vouchers to restaurants etc. printing boarding pass for Aer Lingus.

There are steepish steps down to the apartment but this was not a problem as our youngest was 5. We all loved the space and freedom as opposed to a hotel room and were within easy reach of the tube and central London.

The ensuite bathroom is a wetroom and this was huge hit with us and our kids enjoyed nightly showers after a busy day exploring a great city to visit. Even helped to clear up the youngest's cough.

If there are any issues Fred and Iris are easy to contact and very responsive.

The apartment to us was excellent value for money and was a major part of our enjoyment of a great week in London.

We would have no hesitation in recommending it to any potential visitors.

Excellent full equiped flat

Review Submitted: November 3, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
All we think that this flat was the perfect place to stay in London.
The property is clean and very good mantained. it is like a new house, full equiped as described in the web page, and much more: cds, dvds, games, computer, wifi....
Quiet zone, walking distance to Oxford Street and Notting hill. Very near bus stop across the street to everywhere.
The owners were very kind and they had everything ready for us when we arrived, there were also some food essentials for the first day. We had a very nice stay at this house, do not hesitate to choose this one, you will enjoy this place.

Warmly recommended apartment

Excellent apartment in a very good location. Like new, very well equipped, very clean and quiet. Owners are so helpful and they really know their neighborhood and where to dine.

Only the stairs from the street to the apartment are not suitable for everybody. Our family of five had no problems with them.

Our sixth or seventh homeaway and clearly the best so far. Warmly recommended base to explore London.

Very nice place to stay and spend holiday. Excellent location, Paddington station right around the corner and short distancies to nice restaurants, shopping and sights.
The apartment itself was even better than discribed in the property details. Excellent standard of equipment in the kitchen and all around the apartment.
Special thanks to Fred and Iris for very extensive guidance of shopping, eating and sight-seeing places around the area. What a wonderful people and such a warm welcome!
We can strongly recommend this to everybody.

Whay a wonderful vacation!!!

We just finished up a great family vacation in London. It was our first time and we couldn't have stayed in a more ideal apartment.

Fred and Iris were extremely helpful; giving us 'first-timers' the lay of the land with advice on restaurants and how to get around in London. A very nice touch was to have a few basic's stocked in the fridge so we didn't have to go out as soon as we got there. We were able to relax right away after our journey.

The apartment exceeded all expectations. It's in immaculate condition and with plenty of room for a comfortable stay. It is close to what's important and quiet.

London is not a city that I would recommend having a car in. This apartment is in an ideal location to see London that way it was meant to; walking, the tube and the bus. Paddington station is one block away with ready access to the city and Heathrow.

We can't thank Fred and Iris enough for all they did for us and we look forward to seeing them again.

Great base for

SJA from Shropshire Shropshire
Review Submitted: August 5, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We found this flat to be just what we needed as a quiet base to return to after sightseeing and theatre going. It was spotless and well equipped. Fred and Iris were pleasant and efficient to deal with and had given a lot of thought to what weary travellers would need; right down to milk, bread and eggs in the 'fridge, lots of toiletries and towels, masses of leaflets to help plan your trips and even oyster cards ready to go. It was very handy for the circle line and taxis at Paddington- just one street away and there were convenient shops there to if you wanted a night in with an M&S dinner.
They do mean it about access being unsuitable for the elderly - you'd need to keep a firm hand on little ones too but by the end of the week we were practically skipping down the steps! I would be happy to recommend this property to a friend so long as they didn't want the same week I did!
Thanks Fred and Iris for a great stay

Excellent basement flat

Excellent basement flat in a great location. Very very close to Paddington (ideal for transfers from LHR). Fred and Iris keep the place in an immaculate condition and are great guides to London too.
While you're staying, check out the Thai River restaurant (a five minute walk) -- probably the best local place to eat.
