We (3 adults and 2 teenagers) all enjoyed our stay at this villa. It is spacious and clean and the private heated pool is fantastic. We agree with previous reviews regarding the noisy neighbours and updating of folder with villa information.
From the villa it takes 10 minutes to walk to the nearest restaurants and a further 5 - 10 minutes to the main Las Cucharas beach.
The Pueblo Marinero Square (10 min walk from villa) is lovely with lots of restaurants and bars. There is live music here from the bandstand a few nights each week.
We recommend hiring a car as there is so much to see on the island. Favourite places were the Mirador Del Rio at the north of the island where there is a fantastic view down to the neighbouring Isla La Graciosa, Timanfaya National Park, Jameos Del Agua and the "green lagoon" at El Golfo.
Overall we would not hesitate to recommend this villa and have really enjoyed our holiday in Costa Teguise.

Villa in Costa Teguise with Private Pool

Review Submitted: August 8, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We (4 adults, 2 children) enjoyed our stay at this villa for two weeks in July. The villa has lots of space, is clean, comfortable and the heated pool is lovely. The walk to the beach and supermarket is as described. I think it would be a good idea to update the blue folder and provide more information about the villa ie; how things work, where to put the rubbish and who to contact if there is a problem.

Unfortunately I do have to agree with the previous review about the neighbours - they are very noisey! We didn't let this spoil our holiday and they did seem quite pleasant and friendly.

The restaurants in Costa Teguie are pretty much the same cuisine. For a really special meal I would recommend Oscars on the Playa Bastian side of the resort.

We had great fun at the main beach - the waves are good - a little rough for young children - La Jabillo has a lovely man made lagoon but is does get a little rough when the tide comes in.

We went to the Timanfya National Park which is well worth a visit - if you go on a coach tour you can get to see more of the park as cars are not allowed in all areas. Also, if you take your own car you may have a long wait to enter as the park as traffic is limited (as one car comes out they let another in). Teguise market is ok for a half day out. The stalls are pretty much of the same thing. It is easy to get to by the local bus. We definately would not recommend the fishing trip it is very expensive for what you get and the crew are not interested in anyone.

Overall we had a great time and would return to the villa in the future and have recommended it to our friends.

We have just returned from a weeks stay in Los Gurrupitos Costa Teguise. On the whole our holiday was good however we did experience a few hiccups which did mar our holiday slightly. The first was the TV - it did not have a signal therefore no picture - not a huge problem in the scheme of things but would have been better if it had worked. The second were the neighbours! Not really much anyone could have done about that but due to the very thin walls we were woken up each night at 2.30am when the owners returned. Doors slamming, loud chatter, mobiles going off, and toilets being flushed. Everything always sound some much louder with tiled floors! We both enjoyed the use of the small pool. The addition of sun lounger cushions would compliment a well equipped villa. The blue information book needs modifying (once located in the sideboard) and needs more explanation of how the 'villa worked'! One point to make was the disposing of rubbish - it asks you to dispose of it but doesn't tell you where! The villa itself was spacious with clean bedding and fresh towels. Having two bathrooms upstairs was a great asset. Walking into town and to the beach was within the time specified and not a problem. The on site supermarket was quite well stocked but beware of getting milk there as not stored in correct fridge and two lots both off! Costa Teguise had an abundance of restaurants but not a lot of local cuisine. However we found a delightful restaurant called La Vaca Loca (near main square) very reasonably priced and with friendly staff and good food. We didn't try the water park as had hoped due to the price 22 euros for an adult and limited amount of slides available. The cost of food, drink etc in the town did not appear to have changed with the drop in sterling so goods seemed quite highly priced. We do not recommend the big game fishing trips as this was very disappointing with very little effort made by the crew to catch some fish! The surfwings restaurant on Playa Bastian beach was a regular haunt for lunchtime snacks and a cold beer! If you plan to go to Teguise Market get the local bus only costs 2 euros each way compared to one poor chap who paid 18.50 in a taxi. The buses are frequent and the nearest one is on Ave Del Mar - Playa Bastian stop. The market is as described 'bustling' with lots of stalls selling mainly jewellery, handicrafts etc. Lanzarote was enjoyable just a few littles grumbles! Everyone is different.

We stayed at the villa the end of February 2009. The villa is lovely and spacious and very well furnished. There was plenty of bedding and lots of wardrobe space.

While we were there it was very cold and wet. During the day if we were in and evenings it was cold in the villa and we had to have blankets round us to keep warm. We think a heater would be a good idea for cold spells.

The ad for the villa stated the beach was 8-10 minutes walk away. In fact we walked to both beaches and they were at least 15-20 minutes walk away and we did not have children or pushchairs.

The shops were also a distance away except the one on the complete which was only OK for emergencies.

The blue folder needs updating regarding taxi numbers as the ones in the folder were not in use.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the villa to others. We also thought it was very good value for money.

Wonderful holiday break - recommend to all

A great time was had by all (2 adults & 2 children), just a perfect pre christmas break. The web page is a surprisingly accurate description of the villa, ( i thought it sounded too good to be true) but we all agreed it was excellent - 3 well furnished bedrooms & 3 bathrooms - a blessing with kids, the kitchen was excellent for self catering and the lounge/ dining area was very spacious and comfortable. Overall the villa was clean, well appointed, with lots of space for chilling out - a home from home.
The heated private pool was a brilliant bonus, as the weather was a little unseasonal (according to the locals - thought we still thought it was good). Being able to eat breakfast, & lunch by the pool was lovely.

The onsite supermarket is ok for basic provisions but we often stocked up from the supermarkets in town.

We had some concerns over the location - being on the edge of the town, but the centre & the beaches really are only a 8-10 minute walk away- some gentle inclines on the way back though - great for burning off the calories.

There are several clean golden sandy beaches within walking distant which are suitable for all the family - though it was a little windy when we visited.

The only problem with eating out in the evening is choosing where to eat - the restaurants we visited were situated close to the Playa de las Cucharas.

We visited the Mirador (steaks√), El Patio (√ very busy - good sign), Portofino (a little disappointing), El Pescador (fish specialities √ the wood carved walls are amazing), Casblanca (my favourite - steaks √).

To keep the peace each evening ended with a visit to the Creperie outside the Lighthouse restaurant for a compulsory chocolate crepe.

The Hook cocktail bar in the Peublo Marinero Sq (opp El Patio) is worth a visit to watch the world go by - plus don't miss the Friday evening weekly craft market in the square.

The Sunday Teguise Market is worth the 10 minute taxi ride to stock up on souvenirs and to watch the local folk doing some traditional dances.

Although we didn't hire a car this time, it would be beneficial for serious sightseeing - there appear to be several car hire centres in the town.

In summary, we all had a wonderful relaxing break, with plenty to do if we wanted to and a wonderful villa to chill out in if we wanted to take it easy. We would certainly recommend this villa to family or friends and we would hope to visit it again in the future.
Regards
blmcda
