A Jewel in the Countryside

Review Submitted: April 28, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
What can I say??? This barn is beautiful ! It certainly has the WOW factor. Very modern inside and fitted out to a superb standard and is spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need is here, the owners have thought of everything. So many little touches that make you feel at home. My husband and I had a family long weekend with our 2 adult sons and their girlfriends and my Mum. Plenty of room for our party of 7. A car is definitely needed but if you have SAT NAV it is SO easy. Peaceful surroundings with views to die for ! Beaufort Hotel in Raglan is good for a meal especially Sunday Lunch. The New Inn at St Owens Cross although only small, has a lovely atmosphere with lovely food. Not your usual Pub Grub. We will most certainly return again. Thank you Claire and Richard for welcoming us so warmly ! Cheryl & Tom
Owner's Response: It is wonderful to have all our hard work appreciated in this way.

We are so pleased that our guests had a lovely reunion with their family. I gather the birds were singing.

The property was designed to be family friendly and furnished to provide a home from home atmosphere.

Fantastic place to stay

Review Submitted: September 25, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We had a great time at the holiday barn, the location is perfect if you want to get away from everything although Monmouth town centre is only a short drive away. We were all impressed with every aspect of the barn.

The bedrooms are very relaxing and well equipped and the beds are very comfortable.

The garden at the back of the property is great for football and relaxing in the evening.

The owners of the property are very friendly and happy to help and are very efficient during the booking process. The pictures on the website do not reflect how comfortable and spacious this property actually is.

Overall, we would fully recommend this property to those looking to get away from it all and have a relaxing holiday.
Owner's Response: These guests were a group of 6 young men who sound as though they had a very relaxing time. It is good to have all our hard work appreciated in this way as we strive to create a stress free atmosphere for all our guests, who ever they may be.

We really enjoyed our stay and have already recommended it to others. It really gave us a chance to get away from it all and take in some of the glorious sights around the area. A great base from which to explore Gloucestershire and Wales.
Spotlessly clean and very nicely presented.

You really will need a car!
Owner's Response: We are very pleased that our guests had an enjoyable stay. We are a great base for exploring Herefordshire as well and yes a car is a must. It is great to be recommended.

What a wonderful holiday property

Review Submitted: August 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Our family stayed here for two weeks in July. When we arrived at the property it felt like deja vu, everything was as described and met all our built up expectations and more. There was nothing missing in the fitout, you could be in your own home, games included! The barn was spacious and quiet with beautiful views. With four young children the garden area was the perfect outdoor space. The barn was a lovely holiday property for any age.
Owner's Response: We would like to thank our guests for this review, considering the weather! Many times we passed the property to see the BBQ and garden being used to it's maximum, with children playing on the pedal tractor or in their paddling pool. Would love to meet again.

A wonderful New Year celebration

Review Submitted: April 17, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We had a fantastic stay in the barn over the New Year period. It was the perfect place for us to get away from the bustle of London, with all of the necessary facilities to make our stay relaxing. We were really impressed with the standard of the barn and the level of cleanliness.

As four couples, there was plenty to keep us entertained nearby - the men enjoyed walking outdoors whilst the ladies enjoyed tea and cakes in Monmouth's tearooms! There were plenty of local restaurants although with a group as large as ours it was essential to book in advance.

We have already recommended it to friends and family and hope to visit again in the future.
Owner's Response: This is a lovely review. We work hard to create an environment which is relaxing and comfortable.

The location, although totally rural, has plenty of eating establishments and attractions within a short distance to enhance your holiday, even in December. It is essential to have a car or be prepared to walk!

Excelent weekend

Review Submitted: April 13, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
I decded to book a weekend in January for my family as a group Xmas and birthday present.

Arriving at the Barn it was clear it would be time to relax as we got further and further from the hussle and bussle.

The barn inside was excellent furnished really well and was a nice retreat from London & Leicester.

The walking was good (but remember your walking gear), the house easliy accomodated 7 and would be reat to visit both in Summer or Winter.

I would book again.

Adam
Owner's Response: Very pleased to hear that Adam and family enjoyed their January break and the local walks in the Monnow Valley. We hope to see them all again in the future.

Great stay

Dave & Moira Englefield Green, Surrey
Review Submitted: January 4, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
We had a great stay in this stunning barn conversion. The accommodation is excellent, with plenty of living space for a large group, and first-class facilities throughout.

The barn is in a beautiful rural location, with walks from the door - we found a particularly enchanting walk along the river Monnow to Skenfrith. The surrounding area has plenty of interesting things to do and see too - For example, we visited the Brecon Beacons national park, Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, and the Westerns cider brewery.

We'll definitely be going back.
Owner's Response: We are very pleased that you had such an enjoyable stay. You certainly made the most of your time and managed to visit some attractive locations. We look forward to meeting you again in the near future.

lovely, relaxing place to be

we had a wonderful time at orchard house. It has lots of room to move around but also plenty of spaces to be together. The kitchen was really well equipped and the space outside the loft room was great for the children. you are in the middle of nowhere though so you will need your walking boots or be prepared to use your car. We visited Abergervanny, Monmouth and Skelfrith easily in the time we were there as there are not far away. Already have recommended the property to other people.
Owner's Response: Our property seems to have everything required for a wonderful holiday but it is essential to have a car or be prepared to walk. The location, although totally rural, is conducive to relaxation and there are plenty of eating establishments and attractions within a short distance to enhance your holiday.

Review Submitted: December 5, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
What a fabulous place to stay! We loved the peace and tranquility, there is plenty of green space for the children to play, and a lovely patio for the adults to sit and take in the views. Inside is clean and extremely comfortable, with many home from home touches. We will definately be returning very soon!
Owner's Response: This is a lovely review and obviously these people had a wonderful time, as could others. Our property is very family friendly and the surrounding area is tranquil and very picturesque.

We hope this review will be helpful to you when making a decision as to where to spend time away.
