Villa Lorriana

Review Submitted: October 4, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
This truly is a luxury villa.Styishly furnished and well equipped for all your holiday needs. The location gives this property stunning views,is very peaceful, yet just a short walk from the village. Gennadi is still unspoilt by tourism, and retains all it's Greek charm. For a relaxed holiday in Greece you can't do better.

The pictures of this villa do not do it justice. I have stayed in many villas and this is by far the best equipped (the only thing missing being a dishwasher but even doing the dishes was not a chore as it was a reason to get out of the sun for a bit !).The uninterrupted view to the sea is a delight. The owners have thought of everything too numerous to mention. The villa was spotless and the garden and pool well cared for. Access from the village is a bit bumpy as the road is unmade but the upside of this is the total privacy we had. The only thing wrong was that we were so happy there it was an effort to make ourselves go out. From 4 very happy 50 somethings going on 30.

July 2008

My partner and I took both our mothers on holiday to the villa last summer. We stayed for a week and had a brilliant, relaxing time. The villa is equipped to a very high, luxury specification. Exceptional. It looks just like the pictures shown on this website. My mum has very high standards and the villa met them all!

The villa is quite remote and a 5-10 minute walk down a dirt track to the small village of Gennadi. The beach is around a 20-30 minute walk, past the village, down a gentle hill. A hire car is a must. There was some construction work being undertaken whilst we were there in July 2008. It was quite far away and did not disturb us.

We were slightly worried about the heat in Rhodes, but found there is a gentle breeze at the villa and the air conditioning is wonderful.

I recommend the villa with hestitation. Perfect.

Our stay at Villa Lorriana

A very high standard villa, with thought put in to make your stay so comfortable and situated so that you're over looking the sea.
It only took a couple of days to get the feeling that this was a place that you wanted to return to.
Pool and villa cleaned regularly by friendly English speaking people that you could contact for advice if needed.
Hiring a car is a must to explore the Island, so many lovely bays and beaches where you can actually park right next to or even on the beach.
This was so convenient for someone like myself who suffers arthritis but loves snorkeling in the sea and watching the fish around me. Driving on the other side proved no problem for my two grown daughters, who soon got used to it.
The down stairs bedroom of course was just right for some like myself, with shower and toilet next door.
Rhodes is a beautiful Island and the village of Gennadi provides everything you need, including cash machine in English. The bakery was a favourite of ours, so many yummy things in there to treat yourself with. The green grocers next door and super market, all within walking distance of the villa.
So many places to eat out or you can even get "take-aways" from the village to take back to the villa.
The weather couldn't have been better for the time of year and we all came back with lovely sun tans and wonderful memories of our holiday.
It's a big thank you to the owners for providing such a lovely villa for our stay, we will certainly return to explore some more of the Island, which we fell in love with.
Family of 4.

Villa Lorriana - September 2008

Ceilidh UK, Sussex
Review Submitted: October 5, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We spent 2 delightful weeks in Villa Lorriana. The owners have very carefully equipped the villa so that it feels like home. The location is fabulous, being away from the village of Gennadi but only a short walk down a track to the good local friendly tavernas. There is a the very cheap grocers and a local baker. There is a small but well stocked supermarket in the village. We found Gennadi enchanting as it is a working village with all its charms and quirky friendly local characters.
The villa has excellent views of the local landscape and the sea. Evening star gazing is magnificent as there is very little local light pollution.
The pool was very clean and well cared for and is very shallow at one end so it is great for small children. We ate all our meals on the patio with the magnificent views. There is some shade on the patio over the table.
The villa is about an hours drive from the airport, but the route is straightforward on good quality roads. There is plenty to do on Rhodes catering for all tastes. The tavernas are very reasonable and as with all Greek islands there is an abundance of local village wine by the litre!
It is easy to drive to anywhere on the island with diverse landscapes from sea side hideaways with one taverna to mountain retreats and bustling Lindos and Rhodes.
Car hire pick up and drop off at the airport is very convenient as there is a car park just outside the terminal. I would recommend using the owner's preferred car hire company as they are very friendly, offer good value and provide good insurance with wiavers etc.
The owners were very straightforward to deal with.
The villa was spotless on arrival with a very welcome bottle of wine awaiting our late night arrival.
This is a perfect spot to get away from it but with local amenities within easy reach.

A peaceful, luxurious, hillside retreat

Seaviewmike Isle of Wight
Review Submitted: October 5, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Villa Lorriana is a beautifully furnished new villa set in a wonderful hillside location above the village of Gennadi.

Well designed, it contains 3 air-conditioned double bedrooms which each have their own patio doors leading to its own balcony or patio area - all having stunning views of the sea and surrounding countryside.

The pool is of a good size whether you want just want a cooling dip or more serious exercise and is set in a well-maintained garden.

Gennadi is a traditional, unspoilt Greek village only a two minute drive down the hill. It has a well-stocked small supermarket, a separate greengocer and excellent bakery. There are numerous bars and a good choice of places for eating out.

If you want peace and quiet in luxurious villa set in a fabulous location with easy access to the sea, beautiful scenery and historical sites such as Lindos, Villa Lorriana is the place to be.

I will most certainly be returning.

Relaxation at its best!

The details of how to get to Villa Lorrianna from the airport were accurate and very informative. We arrived to a most stunning villa, there was everything provided in order to make the holiday comfortable and relaxing. The sublime furnishings of the villa created a luxury setting and with the wonderful panoramic views from the villa you don’t need to go far in order to have a brilliant holiday. The swimming pool was the ‘cherry on the cake’ it was so inviting , spotless and a great deal of fun. During our stay there was an attendant who came frequently to clean and maintain the pool.
Whilst lounging on the sun beds around the pool we read the information and recommended places to visit on the Island that the owners had provided for the guests. The information provided was very helpful and saved a lot of time knowing where to visit in advance. We had a friendly visit from the people who maintain the villa that gave us peace of mind should we have any concerns or require help and information, that we could telephone them any time of day or night.
The people in the village were extremely friendly and approachable, the village was a very safe environment for children and some of the roads were closed to traffic in the evenings. It was understandable to hear from most of the people on holiday that they return to Gennadi year after year, one couple had been going twice a year for 15 years and another for 20 years. We had no complaints about any of the food we had in the restaurants and the recommendations from the owners was true to it’s word of good places to eat.
Villa Lorrianna is a place I have recommend to friends and family since my return, I am confident that they will be greeted with the superfluous comforts of this beautiful villa and we will most certainly return again.

The sight over the sea is beautyful, and the Village *Gennadi* ist typical Greece. Friendly people, good Tavernas and not so much tourism. The beaches and sea is very clean also.
I recommend the villa with hestitation, everything was perfect.
We enjoyed our holidays very much and did'nt like to go back home....

Erholsamer Urlaub

H%E Innsbruck/Tirol/Austria
Review Submitted: June 26, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
H&E AUSTRIA / Villa Lorriana gave us a quiet and so relaxing holiday. The very clean, light and spacious house with its beautiful view to the sea and of course the pool let us think to come again. Gennadi with V.L. das a splendid position to discover some untouched places in the south of Rhode. Very impressive and beautiful are the nearly rndless and partly lonely beaches, But as there is space enough we do hope that there`won't destroy any future developements the peacful surroundungs of V.L. Nevertheless we only can recommend Villa Lorriana !
