Great location, and nice house

We stayed here for a week and loved the location and the house. For a large family we had lots of room. We were able to walk only a few blocks and took a train to Paris. It was a quick way to see Paris and after a long day it was just a short walk home. We have stayed in London many times at high end hotels. We liked the house better because it save alot of money on food. There is a store a half a block away. The neighborhood has some very nice resturants too.

This was a great place to stay. We stayed here for 8 days. The 5 of us were very comfortable. This home has plenty of room and amenities. Plenty of books and movies, a washer/dryer and don't miss the steam room! The location was great. Close to all transportation, shopping and dining.

A London Attraction in its own right

We found more than a house, we found a home away from home. London is so hectic it is just great to arrive and immediately feel at home.
The house is full of wonderful books and movies. You will never be bored. Staying at home was just as much fun as exploring London.

The area is very convenient and safe, 5min walk from Kings Cross Station with Tesco shopping center along the way.

I was sorry to have to leave.

We enjoyed our stay at Balfe Str. and recommend it to everyone. We were a family of 5 adults and 4 kids. The house was very nice – clean. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was very modern and all equipped. The garden was the kids favourite place.
The tube was only 5 minutes walk so it was perfect for our sightseeing tours.A Tesco Metro was 2 mins down the road so we never got hungry !
The house was filled with books and DVDs you want to watch but we never had the time.
Well at the end it feels like your own home. Thanks for the stay and hope we will come back again

Me and my family, 5 persons, spends great chrismas week on the house. Very comfortable for famylies, including aged people, much better than stay in a hotel, and cheaper. All very good arranged, rooms very luxous and confortables, kichen all equipped, and bath with magnificent shower. Good collection of, books, CDs, and DVDs.

Home from home (only nicer!)

This is a beautiful home, beautifully decorated and filled with books you want to read and films you want to watch. The immaculate kitchen is a joy to cook and entertain in, and at the end of the day you can relax in the stylish bathroom listening to music as you lie in the huge free-standing bath. The 'secret garden' was a big hit with all of us (2 adults, 1 five-year old, 1 two- year old) and our kids very happily ended up having picnics and playing hide and seek with the neighbours' children. Our friends (who live up the road) definitely wanted to move in!

If you can tear yourself away, you have the whole of London on your doorstep. Good local places to eat out and a Tesco Metro only a few metres down the road mean you won't go hungry and and the excellent transport links make getting around a doddle.

When we had a problem with the DVD not working, the owner couldn't have been more charming or helpful and within 24 hours he'd brought round and set up a replacement. The cleaner was also very efficient and pleasant.

Any minus points? Well it is King's Cross so you have to be prepared for a bit of late night shouting and nonsense out on the street. You are also in a terrace so it's probably not ideal if you are very noise sensitive. The only other downside is the price - I guess it's not too bad if there's six of you paying but for just one family it was a bit ouch. Mind you, it's probably just as well. If it was any cheaper, we'd be there all the time!
