Alpine Meadows

Jonana Northamptonshire, England
Review Submitted: October 21, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
I stayed at Alpine Meadows for a week in October, 2009. It is set in the breathtakingly beautiful Austrian countryside, surrounded by forests and snow capped mountains. The apartment itself is modern, clean, bright and spacious and could comfortably sleep a group of ten people. There is a fantastic self catering kitchen with everything you could need to cook food and a large dining table to eat it at. The toilet is seperate from the bathroom which is handy if you are travelling with a large group. It is near to lots of interesting sights that are definitely worth visiting, including the salt mines, Salzburg, the Eagle's nest and the picturesque village of St Wolfgang. In the winter season it is within 20 minutes drive of winter sports pistes with a range of activities for all ages. A perfect holiday apartment with warm, friendly and helpful hosts. Thank you to Karen nad Ken for a fantastic holiday!

There were two of us but we could have easily stayed with a group of friends in this large guest house. It had a fully equiped kitchen, large lounge and dining area and three bedrooms plus a bathroom and water closet.

Karen and Ken were the perfect hosts, always available and very helpful. The apartment was well maintained and very clean. It was in a beautiful area of Bad Ischl, which was only minutes away.

Our hosts had lots of suggestions for activities, and places to see, even on snowy days (which it did every day).

House surroundings are nice. The beds were large, the house was very nice and clean with large kitchen, bath and comfy sofa. The house owners were *very* kind. Ken prepared breakfast for us every morning, we could choose breakfast ingredients differently every day.

We had a 3 day family vacation in Alpine meadows in August. That was just a perfect experience. The house is pretty comfortable, clean and big enough. A nice view of the mountains, perfect location for watching stars at night. It is easy to reach Everywhere in Salzkammergut within an hour. Very nice towns just in 10 minutes distance by car. Karen and Ken are so nice people and they did everything for our comfort. I totally recommend it.

We spent a very relaxing week at Alpine Meadows, even with 2 small children. The apartment is in such a lovely location, it has everything you need, and is maintained to a very high standard. Karen and Ken are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. We will be returning again very soon and would recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful week in September 2008 with K & K. They gave us a superb welcome, having previously emailed with all necessary details and then added to this with clear, precise information on the area, where to go to suit us, what to expect, etc.

The property was spotless and the 2 of us were lost in it. The heating was there for us to have on as we required and instructions on re-cycling perfect. We decided to cater for ourselves but I know they do it if needed. They checked on us each day but in a quiet unobtrusive way, they were there if we needed them but did not interfere.

it is brilliantly situated to explore the beautiful lakes and Salzburg and you must visit the cake shops, especially in Bad E, which is easy to walk to.

there are lots of restaurants around if you don't want to cook, and to suit all tastes!

a car is really vital to fully explore but I know K & K do offer a taxi service if required.

our first visit will not be our last. We want to explore the local area more, there are lots of walks around the property as well as Salzburg again.

we thoroughly recommend the apartment, the owners and the area!

I have had the pleasure of staying at Alpine Meadows a few times over the past year, and have always enjoyed a very comfortable stay in this top quality family run accommodation. Set in idyllic surroundings, and in close proximity to even more Austrian beauty hotspots, no matter what time of the year you visit there is plenty to see and do in the area.

Alpine Meadows is run by the fantastic hosts Ken and Karen who are warm and welcoming. Staying there gives your trip a real home from home experience, with the apartment and all bedrooms having ample space that caters for all variety of visitors (families/friends/couples etc) - plus stunning views of meadow and/or forest out of every window.

I would recommend Alpine Meadows to anyone looking to visit this lovely part of Austria, so you too can experience the enjoyable stays I have had.

I look forward to visiting again soon!

my time away skiing and staying at alpine meadows was loads of fun. The accomidation had plently of space, although a little drive from the main ski resorts this only adds to the charm as it is not over populated m tourists. karen and ken were wonderful hosts who are prepared to help out in any way the can to make our stay more enjoyable. I will be hoping to stay at alpine meadows in the futare.

A truly fantastic ski area

Review Submitted: January 8, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
I have stayed here a few times now both in the summer and winter. The flat is a real home-from-home, comfortable beds, sofas and excelent kitchen. The flat is large, so theres no triping over each other like your normal ski holidays! The garden looks over a lovely green meadow, and at night the stars are just amazing!
Winter offers sking from just 5min drive away, and also 25min drive offers the best freeride boarding I have ever had. Check out the krippenstein - the 11k run down is a real high speed delight! Gosau which is also only 25min away offers everything for all abilities too
.
Summer has everying a human could dream of. Kayaking, scuba, paragliding...or just sunbathing and walking. The local lakes are stunning. (check out Kuk. Possiblyt the worlds best kept secret bar)

I have never been to such a friendly town. If you visit here make sure your ready to wave and smile at every person you pass on the street!

Loved it! 10/10!
