Outstanding Accomodation In a Magical Location

Backy1 Sydney Australia
Review Submitted: November 11, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
From the moment we arrived we were spellbound by the beauty of Saarburg, and then there was Rococco House's Bel Etage. What a beautifully appointed apartment. Fully self contained, with ample room to relax. Dagmar, who has a shop on the lower level (but does not live in the house), was extremely helpful and made our stay very memorable. In fact, we were greeted with a very tasty breakfast prepared by Dagmar, and fresh croissants every morning. You dont need a car here, the train service (very close) is excellent. Saarburg is like something out of a fairytale. The people here are so friendly. The Rhine river cruises are accessible via train to Koblenz, Luxembourg is only 1 hour away, Metz 1 hour. Whilst in Saarburg, you need to explore the ancient Roman town of Trier, visit the Villeroy & Boch museum and ruined castle in Metlach, and explore Saarburg itself, the castle, waterfall, chairlift, river and so on. If you are coming from Australia, Saarburg is a 3 hour train trip, however, it passes quickly due to the outstanding scenery along the way. We are looking forward to visiting Saarburg again in the near future, and will obviously be staying in Rococco House without a doubt. Superb accomodation in an outstanding location in South West Germany.

Elegant

We chose this apartment because we wanted to relax in a stylish setting and it was behond our expectations. Every last detail from beautiful furnishings to high quality tea and cosy dressing gowns are very well thought through. As other guests have said, the owner and her family offer helpful friendly advice on travel, shopping and eating out and nothing seems too much trouble. Travel in the area is very easy by train too, we travelled quite far and visited Bacharach and had a Rhine cruise, lovely dinner and home in the evening. This is the best self-catering apartment or house we have ever stayed in. It goes beyond its five stars and we would recommend it to anyone.

One of our top two holidays in 25 years!

We had one of our best ever holidays this year, staying in Saarburg. The apartment was absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail is outstanding. The Owner does everything possible to ensure that everything is perfect, from the standard of the accommodation, to the information she gives about what to do and see in the area and where to eat and also to the quality of the food with which she stocked the kitchen for our arrival. Most self catering apartments are fine and are really a place to sleep in at night, in between sightseeing and just provide the basics. But we just didnt want to leave this apartment at all. Saarburg was a quiet town at night but we were more than happy to return early to our beautiful accommodation and to relax there listening to the music, of which a selection of CDs catering for all tastes was supplied by the owner, and to sip fine wine from a local vineyard, and to have the sound of the waterfall which was just outside the window, in the background. The website said that a car wasn't necessary and I have to say that we generally found it easy to get around without one. The train station is about 7 minutes walk trains are very cheap and efficient and there are plenty of buses to Luxembourg which is less than an hour away and again is very reasonably priced. On the whole the town was beautiful, the aparment fantastic and the Owner just amazingly helpful and kind and I would not hesitate to recommend a visit to this accommodation!

This is an outstanding vacation rental and the owner is a lovely and gracious hostess! The apartment itself is gorgeous and the town of Saarburg is a gem. The hostess was extremely accommodating and helpful. She had the kitchen stocked w/ water, other essentials, and even had baby food for my 6 month old. She also was very helpful w/ providing information about the area and attractions. I highly recommend this apartment. You will not be disappointed!!

Our family traveled to Saarburg for a three day vacation and throughly enjoyed our trip. Our hostess spoiled us with wonderful food, drinks and travel tips. The apartment is more beautiful in person. Extremely clean and spacious. River cruises are available in town on the Saar river.A day trip to Trier and endless activites will keep you busy.
I highly recommend this property!

Charming Property

My husband and I spent a week at the Rokokohaus and found it to be the most charming property with a great combination of both character and comfort. We were made to feel extremely welcome by our hostess and arrived to a beautifully laid table, a full fridge of food and a very nice bottle of wine. Our stay was relaxing, romantic and refreshing for us both. If your surroundings are important to you then staying somewhere as beautifully furnished and so elegantly styled as the Rokokohaus will be a complete joy.

Magnificant holiday in Rokokohaus

Review Submitted: August 12, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Incredible holiday in Rokokohaus! Our family, 2 adults and two kids (ages of 4 and 10) enjoyed our holiday in Saarburg at the beginning of July. The apartment was very beautiful, very romantic and luxurious. And our hostess was incredible as well, so friendly and helpful. We arrived in the middle of the night and everything was ready for our arrival; beds were ready, food and wine were waiting for us, closets were full of food, unbelievable. The aparment was very beautiful, clean and well-maintained. The sound of the waterfall was nice, we used to keep our windows open to hear this sound and to look at the life of the streets. The position of Rokokohaus is the best possible, in the middle of small town of Saarburg. We used to walk a lot. The scenery was beautiful and the roads were well-maintained. I would recommend this to all my frieds and relatives as a place for summerholiday and as a place for Christmas as well. We will give the maximum points!

Review Submitted: September 4, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
