A second visit

We stayed here the same time last year, unfortunatly we had appalling weather which is unusual. This year the sun shone for us. We chose to stay here again as we were delighted with the property which is well equipped and spacious. The grounds are large and secluded and peacefull. It also boasts the best pool we have had at any of the many places we have rented in Italy over the past ten years. We have always been looked after well by the owners and the people that look after things over there. Ostuni is a few miles away, plenty of facilities shops resteraunts etc. Beaches are lovely and plenty of choice not far away. You will need a hire car unless you are a hermit!

Excellent place with great pool and charming new house in central Puglia.

Best for familiy with (small) children in hot South Italian summer.

We can strongly recommend it; nice services included (pool cleaning + bed linen + towels) weekly.

You need a car for arriving in the countryside & sighseeing.

Peaceful Haven

We stayed here for a week at the end of May. The weather was perfect and the villa very comfortable. It was just lovely to go for early morning swims (once getting over the initial shock of the cold water - character-building!) and getting dive-bombed by swifts as they swooped for a drink or insects.
The villa isn't difficult to find (excellent instructions), although getting through Ostuni to find the Cisternino road is a complete nightmare and we never got it right! There are several restaurants around, supermarket's easy to get to and huge, and there's loads of nice places to go and have a leisurely lunch and then wonder around for the afternoon. A very pleasant time!

A less well known part of Italy

The primary assets for us were a peaceful country environment, no passing traffic typically 3 cars a day, excellent 10?m pool modern up to date facilities within a restored traditional structure. We had never seen Trullii before. No bad humor here!
Our most memorable visits were to Alberobello and the Archaeology at Egnazia

We flew from Stanstead via Brindisi and a drove in a pre-booked rental car. Navigating the last few miles at night would have been difficult without a GPS/TomTom.
We were met on our arrival at 11PM and shown around, we made full use of the food and wine provided by the owners.
All linen and beach towels were provided and during our 7 day stay much use was made of the poolside furniture and the hammock
We will try and get back for a longer stay!

Life for us in the UK is very busy and stressful. Fortunatly we visit Italy twice a year on business in Vicenza near Venice. We then use the opportuity to take a break and pick different parts of Italy to stay in. This year we thought it time to give Puglia go. We use this site to find accomodation and always look for a place to stay that is secluded and has a pool. No one to irritate us and peace and relaxation. This has to be one of the best we have stayed in, it is as described. Newly refubished and well fitted out, the kitchen was well kitted out better than most. The pool is a good size and built to a high standard again one of the best we have experienced. The grounds are large and the Villa secluded. A lovely spot to sit out and relax. Although it feels remote there are many towns nearby and shopping and eating out is easy with plenty of choice. Our flight got us in late with no time to get in some supplies, thoughtfully the owners had provide us with the essentials, wine ,beer, pasta and breakfast. This was a really nice touch and not one we have encountered before. You never know quite what you are going to get until you arrive and we have stayed in some odd places. Fortunatly we are fairly easy going and make the best of where we stay. On this occation there were no surprises and everything good. Highly recommended.

excellent 2 week holiday

We had an excellent, relaxing, 2 week stay at this quiet property up in the hills, about 10 mins from Ostuni and Cisternino – a car is a necessity along with nerves of steel when driving in town (I think the only people who indicate are the tourists !). From the rooftop you get good views of Ostuni and the many other towns in the area and it was about 20 minutes drive from the coast.
The property is great with plenty of space and has everything you need. The appliances are brand new and the restored Trullo is an interesting step back in time with its high, curved ceiling. The land the property is on is huge and must have hundreds of olive trees - i also hope the owners didn't mind us eating a few of their figs.
We enjoyed days out to places like Alberobello, Cisternino and the fantastic Castellana Grotte as well as lazy (scorching) days by the pool or lying in the hammock. i even enjoyed using the solar shower outside - great fun. After a few beers and glasses of wine (only a few !), lying on the roof at night watching the shootings stars was quiet 'cosmic'.
The local shops and restaurants were great (the Locanda in Casalini was our favourite), and the busy market in Ostuni was a good way to practice my limited italiano. Everyone we met was really friendly.
There were five in our party so having two bathrooms was a real bonus. We will definitely be back soon.
