Just got back from a lovely holiday staying at the Casa Alexander, everything was just as stated in their advert and the children especially loved the pool,it is a beautiful well maintained villa just perfect for a relaxing holiday. You do need a car especially if you have children as the nearest beach is about a half hour walk. The only downside with the villa for us was both our children got rashes from the pool, something to do with the chlorine level we think. so spent more time on the beach than expected to however the beaches are lovely and beach front restaurants great. Would definetely recommend to anyone and are hoping to go back.

Casa Alexander - five star luxury

Review Submitted: October 20, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Casa Alexander is truly amazing. From the moment you walk through the door everything is reminiscent of a suite at a five star hotel, For the very first time the reality of the accommodation was better than the pictures on the internet which is very rare. Lisbeth the owner is great to deal with and was able to answer all our questions and worries prior to departure. Only 30 minutes from arrecife airport and in a nice quiet residential area the location cannot be faulted. The hot tub is the icing on the cake but all home comforts were waiting for us on arrival. having a 4 month old in tow for her first holiday we had reservations, however everything was there. The only thing missing was the steriliser but this was rectified within 20 minutes of arrival when the resort manager Karen popped in with the unit and gave us some great tips on where to go and what to do. Location wise it is a 5 minute drive to the town of playa blanca and 10 minutes from the marina rubicon. For us the mixture of the life and people in playa blance with the quietness and privacy of the villa was absolutely perfect. We indulged in a barbeque on one of the nights and it was great to have a break from the restaurant food etc which one can tire of when on holidays. All in all Casa Alexander is a true gem in Playa Blanca and one which we will definitely be returning to and recommending to all our friends and families. Thank you Lisbeth for a wonderful villa which made our holiday perfect.

Casa Alexander - what a great place!!

Thanks for a wonderful two weeks of pure peace and tranquility. We've got more power now than a Duracell battery!! The villa was lovely and comfortable and had everything we needed for two weeks and the pool was just perfect but the best thing of all was the hot tub, pure relaxation, Our son Alexander who is 11months old absolutely loved it and the added bonus was that he was warm all of the time. I would definately recommend this villa, you will have a fabulous time.

Perfect honeymoon retreat

Lindsay & David Ayrshire, Scotland
Review Submitted: August 7, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We have just returned from our honeymoon in the beautiful Casa Alexander and we loved every second of it. The villa is a real 'home from home'. We made full use of the pool and wonderful hot tub. The villa has everything you could need and is tastefully decorated with lots of finishing touches. We ate outdoors a lot in the alfresco eating area and cooked steak, sausages and chicken on the Canarian barbecue.

Playa Blanca is probably a little too quiet for us so we drove through to Puerto del Carmen a few nights which is only 30km away. We also spent some time at the marina Rubicon in Playa Blanca which is lovely with some fab restaurants.

The only downpoint is that there is no air-conditioning in the villa so you do have to have the bedroom fan running all night but it was not really a problem.

We had a wonderful time, thank you Lisbeth and family x

Fantastic Lovely Villa

Review Submitted: July 22, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We had a fantastic time in Playa Blanca - due mainly to the excellent villa, 'Casa Alexander'. It was just as we hoped (i.e. as described, if not better).

We enjoyed it so much we barely ventured from the villa to do any sightseeing, mainly due to the fantastic pool and the lovely Jacuzzi.

We were very impressed with the quality of the villa, its facilities, maintenance and location. We had such a good time - both us and the children have talked about returning to the villa next year ! Grannie and Grumps joined us half way through our stay and they were very impressed too ! A perfect relaxing break...

Review of Casa Alexander, Playa Blanca

Excellent Villa with great pool and hot tub. Description accurate and owners communicate with email before and after stay. English speaking managers on-site. Villa cleaned perfectly prior to arrival. Villa in very quiet development about 5 mins drive from Playa Blanca. Too far to walk to resort so car hire essential (unless you use bus). No sign of the 2 fishing rods mentioned in villa description and the 2 mountain bikes both had flat tyres, one having a complete puncture - this was fixed by resort managers when they did the weekly linen change. However, it would have been nice if they had ensured the bikes were ok before we arrived! Perfect for a couple or a couple with 2 small children as the 2nd bed room only has 2 single beds. The only let down was the quality of the matress, pillows & bed linen - not really 5 star and the towels provided were not exactly 5 star either - a minor point. No A/C so have to have noisey fans on in bedroom all night to keep cool.

Perfect For Chilling Out

D Bacon Sussex, England
Review Submitted: July 2, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
My wife and I stayed at Casa Alexander in Playa Blanca in Mid June. Not only was the weather beautiful and the town of Playa Blanca lovely, but the villa was exceptional. Extremely clean and well maintained, spacious, had all mod-cons and the location was very nice.

Set 5 mins drive from town it is the ideal location to get away from it all and chill out. We hired a car to tour some of the island but even without a car there is a reliable bus service close by the runs into town every 30 mins.

I highly recommend this villa to couples and families who enjoy sitting around the pool relaxing and are looking to get away from it all. However town of Playa Blanca with it's array of shops and restaurants are within easy access.

Goregous villa

Stayed here for a week in June and had a lovely time. The villa is perfect and a real home from home with some lovely touches (candles, flowers etc). The pool was lovely and we didnt even make it to the beach as we just stayed there every day.

The owner is a real pleasure to deal with and answers any queries very quickly. Details on the villa, how to find and access were brilliant and we had a totally hassle free holiday.

Brilliant and would definitely go back

My partner and I had a wonderful time on our holiday to this very homely villa . We have visited lanzarote many times but this has been our best visit yet due to the total relaxation we got staying in such a pleasant , clean and peaceful home. The hot tub was a great way to end each day and i'm missing it already.

A wonderful Break

Review Submitted: February 20, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
My husband and I have just returned from a two week stay at Casa Alexander and we had the most fantastic time. It was the first time we have booked direct with an owner and were surprised at how quick and easy the whole procedure was. The description and photos of the villa were very precise and the reality more than matched the photos. The owner was friendly and helpful throughout the booking process with plenty of useful information regarding directions and the villa's ameneties. The villa was clean and beautifully furnished with a decent welcome pack to greet us. Apart from a lack of beer glasses, it had everything we could have wished for. The covered outdoor eating area was really useful to shelter in if the wind became chilly. There was a wide selection of novels to choose from and a choice of dvds to watch (which we did on one rainy day). The owner's representatives called on the second day, were very friendly and made it clear they were only too happy to help if we needed them (we didn't). The gardener called once to maintain the lovely garden and the cheery pool guy dropped in a few times to check the pool and hot tub. Ah - that tub! It has to be one of the best features of the property. We swam in the pool a few times but we spent every evening in the warm water of the tub drinking sangria and looking up at the stars. The only drawback was the chilly exit in the cool evening breeze!
We always hire a car and would certainly recommend this to see all that this lovely island has to offer. Don't miss Fundacion Cesar Manrique (his house built in underground lava bubbles), Cueva de los Verdes (a walk along an underground lava tube), Mirador del Rio (a stunning lookout point), Los Hervideros (wild and dramatic coastline), Jameos del Agua (can't describe it - just go there) and finally the Timanfaya National Park where you must not miss the death-defying coach trip for the most fantastic view of the rugged volcanic landscape. The resort of Cala Blanca is very pleasant with a range of shops and restaurants without being too touristy. You would need a car to get there (or a taxi) as it is not within walking distance of the villa which is situauted in a very peaceful area to the west of the resort and, whilst not totally secluded, it is private enough. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone who wants a quality villa holiday at a price which gives excellent value for money.
