Super villa in Ozankoy near Kyrenia.

Review Submitted: August 11, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We have just returned froma weeks holiday in Villa Mumbet and have had a really lovely time. The villa is seriously comfortable with everything you need to have a great holiday. The beds were comfortable and the rooms cool, the bathrooms were modern and super clean and the kitchen had everything you need and more. Our stay in August was particularly hot so we were very happy to cool off on the pool and spend some time in the lovely garden, pool area. The villa is really central and we all enjoyed diving in the clear waters of this area while spending each evening trying out the different restaurants of the town all of which we enjoyed. The owners of this villa have provided a really excellent holiday home and I would recommend it to anyone and will hopefully get a chance to go back myself.

Owner's Response: Thank you Jacky for your review may we just add that the villa is in Dogankoy not Ozankoy as stated. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Take care. Cathy & Reg

Grandparents' Delight!

Review Submitted: October 28, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
What can I say that has not been already said before? I only wish there were more bedrooms so that I could take the whole of my family next year! Is there a project here for you Reg?
The garden is large and is secure - an important factor for small children. We were able to choose sun or shade at all times of the day!
Cathy and Reg had thought of everything - even medicine for the children! They had kindly provided a cot for Benjamin.
The cats were an added bonus and were a source of constant delight to all of us. I am not a cat lover but found myself providing fresh milk for the kittens!
We did hire a car and were well served by Arizona car hire.
All in all a wonderful experience in this very beautiful part of the world.

This being our second visit to this truly outstanding villa was as all that we had expected. Cathy & Reg the owners certainly put a great amount of work and effort into keeping this comfortable and cosy property in A1 condition. and are certainly the most hospitable of hosts. The villa comes complete with a great range of amenities both inside and out The welcome pack was most appreciated especially as we arrived very late in the evening, too late to do any shopping. The property is about a fifteen minute walk from the centre of Girne (Kyrenia) and the numerous restaurants etc.A car is not a necessity although to visit the more distance parts we did have a hire car which was arranged by the owners and the service was first class this included free transfers from and to the airport Ercan.
The pool and garden area made for a most relaxing holiday and we would most certainly highly recommend this villa. If you going to North Cyprus this villa is a must

A Luxury home from home

Review Submitted: July 26, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We spent the most wonderful fortnight at Villa Mumbet. We have been to North Cyprus many times (it is one of our favourite holiday destinations) but never stayed in our own villa before. We are now spoilt and will never stay in a hotel in North Cyprus again. It was lovely to have all that space and our own private pool. When we were looking to book a villa we had three main requirements
1. Private pool
2. Air conditioning in the bedrooms
3. In a location close to Kyrenia where car hire was not essential.
Villa Mumbet seemed to tick all the boxes and it lived up to its promise. We did not hire a car at all and managed very well without one (we like to walk). The kitchen was extremely well equipped with a very large fridge and a water cooler. The latter was a fantastic addition. It saved on fridge space and meant that you had 30 litres of beautifully chilled water literally on tap. When you needed a replacement - a phone call on the provided mobile phone (another very useful item for calling taxis and booking restaurants) and within an hour a replacement 30 litres of water was delivered for the princely sum of £2 and that included the delivery!! It was wonderful to spend our days lazing by the pool reading and listening to our i-pod. We had some great barbecues and cooked some lovely meals in the kitchen which had everything you could ask for and more (there were even chopsticks provided!!) The bedrooms were very comfortable and had modern, efficient and whisper quiet air con (essential in July) To sum up - it was fantastic and we would love to return. Cathy and Reg, thank you for your hospitality and letting us use your lovely home.

Our Month in Cyprus

This property comes highly recommended, it is a home from home,
excellent for families with young children, swimming pool quite shallow so could be classed as child friendly, not suitable for people with disabilities quite a lot of stairs to climb to bedrooms, other than that it is a perfect holiday villa is a lovely area, you dont need to hire a car as it is within walking distance of shops and the harbour in Kyrenia. We would definitely go there again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your valued comments realting to your recent stay in our villa as they help us to maintain our high standards for our guests. Regarding the comments relating to "Stairs". We would like to confirm that our villa has normal stairs to the bedrooms which presumable may appear to be a problem for people who normally live in a bungalow or ground floor accommodation. The pool and all surrounding areas are all at ground level and easily accessible.

Villa Mumbet

Nou Ipswich, Suffolk, England
Review Submitted: May 24, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
A beautiful villa, very well equipped and very convenient for touring Northern Cyprus. (Only because hire cars are not allowed across the border) Local buses passed nearby so a car is not necessary also many of the local restaurants will pick you up from the villa. We loved the local market which was about a mile away from the villa and the harbour of Kyrenia was very picturesque. The supermarket is within walking distance. Reg and Cathy (the owners) are very friendly and helpful and have lots of local information at the villa including a local use mobile phone which we found invaluable. Driving is on the left hand side of the road and many signs are in English. We had very little difficulty communicating with local shop keepers and waiters as so many spoke excellent English and most spoke at least some English. A holiday here could be as active or relaxing as you like. The pool at the villa was cleaned twice each week and on a hot day would have been lovely to lounge around all day. The mountains were only a few miles away and roads over them were good but walking for the energetic would be very possible. The views from the mountains were stunning. There were various local beaches and the one we liked called "Escape" Beach was only about 20 mins drive away. It was a beautiful bay with clean water and sand, sunbeds, toilets and refreshments.
I would certainly rent this villa again.

Anybody looking for a clean, well equipped, villla in a lovely area close to all aminities, and of course the beautiful harbour of Kyrenia, need look no further. We have just returned from a two week stay. We have stayed in villas in Northern Cyprus many times, but never have the owners been as hospitable as Reg & Cathy. They really do go the extra mile for you, and nothing is to much trouble, they have really made Villa Mumbet feel just like home from home. We also loved the outdoor area it was so spacious the gardens are well tended and once again evertthing we required barbacue etc., was on hand.Cath & Reg even introduced us to their friends, and their local watering hole, The Old Mill,Ozankoy which also became our local as everybody was so friendly. This villa has by far been the best we have stayed in, and we would highly reccomend it

A home away from home

Review Submitted: March 7, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2008
My husband and I stayed at Villa Mumbet for three months while waiting for our own property to be completed. We were making the transition from having lived aboard our sailing boat to living on dry land again. We looked at many rental properties before settling on Villa Mumbet. There were none that could compare with this villa.
First of all, the couple who own the villa have equiped the villa as a home and go out of their way to make you feel at home without ever intruding on your privacy. They are a delightful couple.
Secondly, the villa has every conceivable household gadget and luxury you could wish for. All furnishings are beautiful, comfortable and the place is spotless. At the same time it is practical. There is excellent 'easy to use' information on how to use everything; what to see and do; and how to get to where you decide to go. A pay as you go mobile phone with local sim card is provided together with a list of all the local telephone numbers you might call.
Thirdly, the gardens and pool area are a special delight with magnificent old Olive trees, fabulous palms and lots of flowers and huge cactuses. There's outdoor lighting for romantic evenings and plenty of shade for breakfasting and lunching outside.
Fourthly, this villa is located in a small village with a little cafe where you can meet locals and expats. There is also a lovely little old church which the expats and locals are renovating closeby which is worth visiting. In addition you will find yourself within walking distance of the centre of Girne/Kyrenia. So if you want to have your dinner down in the old harbour and enjoy your wine, you can then walk home again(about 25mins).

You will also find that you have very friendly neighbours who are always ready to give you a helping hand without ever being intrusive.

What more is there to say? Obviously, we fell in love with the place!
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
greetings
Christine and Cato

Villa Mumbet June 2008

Suffolkgang Ipswich
Review Submitted: December 9, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
The whole experience of booking this villa went so well from the first enquiry to reluctantly going home having stayed there for 16 days. Cathy and Reg could not have been more helpful nor more welcoming. Our 3 children had the best holiday ever and so did we, having the pool to ourselves and we all thought it was a terrific place to stay, very central but quiet with a corner shop just up the road and a supermarket nearby.Cathy and Reg made sure we had everything we needed and they were only a phone call away if we needed anything else which we didn't because they had thought of everything down to the last detail. Facilities included the private pool and loungers complete with lilos and kids toys, TV and DVD player with many DVDs, washing machine, water cooler, barbecue, air conditioning (which was a must in June/July), and the fact that it was beautifully furnished and clean. We would fully recommend it and we will be going back fo sure.

Review Submitted: December 5, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
Myself, my husband and three friends really fell in love with Villa Mumbet. We couldn't have asked for anything more as there was everything that we needed on hand and we certainly made the most of the facilities, particularly the pool. It is beautifully furnished and the gardens are well stocked - a real gardeners delight. Cathy and Reg were great and very helpful with regards to arranging transfers and car hire and it all went very smoothly. Not only were we provided with a welcome pack, but Cathy also did a little extra shopping at our request which meant that we could all enjoy a much needed Brandy on arrival!!! Although we had a car, the supermarket and even old Kyrenia were all walkable however we're all glad that we had the car to hump the shopping back. We really loved our holiday home and I would certainly recomment Villa Mumbet to anybody heading for Northern Cyprus for a holdiay.
