Perfect

Villa Maximus is truly beautiful and a real treat. The facilities the villa offers are luxurious and everything that you would need has been provided. The villa is spotless and very well maintained.
The location of the villa was perfect. The views from the terraces are spectacular and passed many an hour. The villa is on top of a hill (which helps to give the wonderful views) but is only a 5 - 10 minute walk from the town. The walk back is great exercise and after a day became no problem at all. The reward of an ice cool drink/ice cream was the incentive to keep going!
The town had plenty of excellent restaurants - the Indian and Mexican were our favourites.
One must is a trip to see the dolphins. This was a real treat.
The owner, Nick, was very helpful with the booking and does not exaggerate when he tells you that you will not want to leave at the end of your stay.
Villa Maximus is highly recommended.

Owner's Response: I guess for those of you a little like myself who are not quite as fit as Team R then you can take the easy option and get a Taxi back up the hill to the Villa from the Village Square, its only 3.5euros. As mentioned above my house keeper and her team take great pride in ensuring that the Villa is in perfect order (as new feel) for every new arrival allowing our guests to recieve a trouble free holiday in amazing surroundings, enabling you to simply sit back and take in the breath taking views from the Villa Terraces.

Myself and new wife, had a wonderful relaxing week on our honeymoon, views are fantastic and it has the villa to match, it is extremely quite and the village down the road is wonderful with nice restaurants and beach! The pictures dont do it justice!
The villa was very clean with modern fittings, gail the house keeper is very helpful, and also works in a lovely restaurant on the marine front.
I would strongly recommed this villa for people who are looking for a nice relaxing holiday in the sun with lovely surroundings! And the owner is very friendly and helpful too!

Absolutely spectacular views from this place, it was clean, well laid out and easy for a family of five to stay in. The only drawback is the town itself, there are no natives; its all ex-pats central. However if you can live with that then you are in for the easiest week off you have ever had. Food can be delivered, there is a great selection of seafood by the marina and there are boats for hire. This coast is the sunniest part of the island. the owner has plumbed in UK TV, so imagine this for a perfect day; a wide screen, 6 nations finals on the tv, barbecue cooking up, meats marinading and the family either in the pool or sunning themselves looking onto the views you can see in these pictures. The day was only made better by watching the sunset before strolling to the marina for a big family meal. If there is a free week - book this place.

Owner's Response: Los Gigantes is a very popular resort with overseas visitors, the village itself was chosen as a resort for its outstanding beauty and developed in the mid 60's aimed at the holiday market for people who like mostly quiet relaxing holidays with great scenery and fantastic service from local restaurants, bars and shops, most of the Tenerife local community live in the hills further up the mountain and commute to work, I guess the reason for this is property prices are a little less expensive the further inland you travel and its also marginally cooler than the coast. The Tenerife locals are very very friendly and welcoming to all visitors, every year around Feb/March the local community have a big celebration with a carnival precession that makes its way through the village streets, the atmosphere is electric and its a great deal of fun as everyone in the precession is in fancy dress costume. The local's celebrate summer with a huge firework show on the little village square which can be seen for miles around, there are a number of cafe's, bars and restaurants dotted around the square to sit back, relax and enjoy the display. The local community through out the year provide a range of entertainment and excursions for visitors to the resort, details of which can be found at various Los Gigantes tourist information spots.

Just returned from my stay at Villa Maximus. Have been to tenerife 4 times and this villa has to be one of the best on the island for location, views and quality of finish. Very friendly and helpful from start to finish, made holiday truly memorable. Already planning our return. Fabulous!!!! 5*****

We come to Tenerife every year, mostly in the winter. This is a very underestimated Villa and is best described as excellent. My wife and I, accompanied with her friend, have just had a most enjoyable week on the island. The views from the villa are astounding and we loved watching the Dolphins play with the fishermen and tourist boats. However we do recommend a car, the journey into the village is no problem but try carrying a load of shopping back up the hill! All in all we would recommend the property to anyone, Nick has made a wonderfull job of refurbishing the place and the furniture etc. is first class. We will definately come again. Owner's Response: I always hire a Car myself maybe it's because I'm a little lazy, but yes carrying shopping up the hill is for the super fit for sure. I suggest for those guests who simply do not want to drive then they can get a Taxi from the village back up to the Villa for only 3.5 euros.

Peaceful Holiday at Beautiful Villa Maximus.

Review Submitted: November 25, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We visited the beautiful villa with friends - our first holiday with another family - and our main concern was whether we'd have enough space so we didn't get on each others nerves! We needn't have worried because the size of the Villa & the extensive sun terraces meant we could all spread out as much as we wished.

Villa Maximus is finished and equiped to a very high standard. There has obviously been no expense spared with getting the appearance, feel and comfort just right. The position of the villa is perfect with the views out to sea "to die for". We even saw whales through our binoculaurs one day. The walk up the hill back to the villa after our evenings dining out was great for burning off those extra calories. Then sitting on the terrace having that final drink before retiring to bed, looking up at the sky which seemed to have more stars than I've ever seen anywhere else, was such a perfect end to every evening.

Theres a good choice of places to dine for every budget and every taste and all the locals are very friendly. The resort of Los Gigantes is just big enough with a nice, safe beach and a good mix of shops and bars.

I cannot imagine anyone who could find fault with the Villa or the Resort. Everything about the place was lovely and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or revisit.

This was our first time in Tenerife and we were a bit nervous about the potential 'lads culture' we'd seen on TV.But for sunshine in November -not too far from home ,then the Canary Islands were an obvious choice. We had no reason to be concerned - Los Gigantes is a great location for a quieter holiday -plenty of local restaurants and bars but not too busy or noisy (the resort of Las Americas is where the TV documentaries are shot and this is one hour away). You can walk to the Harbour and the bars easily in about 10 minutes and a taxi back is 3 euros including tip!
The Villa really is phenomenal - the photographs almost do not do it justice.Firstly the views are breathtaking and the large lounge with 'picture' windows makes sure that you enjoy the scenery whether inside or out.You can see right across to La Gomera with an uninterrupted view and it really is the best and most stunning viewpoint that you can imagine.
Internally the furnishings and layout are all first class and we enjoyed watching Lewis Hamilton's F1 Championship victory on the massive flat screen TV.
The terrace and pool area were ideal for us and the whole of the Villa and surroundings are very well maintained.
We are definitely going back.Highly recommended.

Hard to beat!

Review Submitted: November 5, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
As our first holiday as a family, more geared towards beach and children than far flung adventure we were viewing Tenerife as a necessary compromise, however the moment we booked Villa Maximus we knew we had found a real gem and started really looking forward to our holiday - we were not disappointed!
Villa Maximus is in the most perfect setting and there are literally no other buildings between the villa and that amazing view. We had a wonderful week and were totally impressed with the high standard to which the villa had been furnished. It's quite rare to come across a rental property that you want to use as inspiration for your own home - I actually did take photos of the bathrooms as they're all so swanky!
We have a small child so didn't go out much at night but we were perfectly happy to just hang around in the villa. It's really well equipped so cooking was dead easy. The only thing I can even nit pick about was a few dodgy quality dvds which were unwatchable on such a big tv!
With regards to suitability for children we were a bit concerned about the pool and terraces for a toddler, but it was absolutely fine - we blocked off a couple of escape routes with sun loungers and we were sorted.
I'd point out that the villa is up a hill, so although it might be 5 mins down to the beach it's an awful lot more on the way up - not something I even contemplated attempting with a pushchair, but totally manageable if you're feeling energetic ( we drove up and down each day). The other thing about being on a West facing steep cliff, is that the sun is a bit slow to hit the village in the morning - about 11am up the hill in October, but the upside to that is the fabulous sunsets in the evening! The village itself was lovely - loads to choose from and all the info left in the villa was really helpful - as was the housekeeper Gail, who met us when we arrived and popped back midweek. The place is immaculate, as you'd expect for a place where so much effort has obviously been spent.

I would definitely recommend this villa to friends, except that it would soon get fully booked and I won't be able to go back myself, which I would definitely like to do! For a relaxing week in a really special property in a wonderful location with an amazing view it would be difficult to beat Villa Maximus.
