An excellent house in a perfect location

Janet's Family Leicester
Review Submitted: September 29, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We hired the house for a 80th birthday family celebration, and it was perfect. lots of room and great facilities in the house and secure parking for 4 cars.

We will definitely use the house again!

For those people not familiar with the area, Brancaster provides an ideal location for access to the entire North Norfolk coast.

Old stores in Brancaster

Fantastically equipped kitchen with absolutely everything you could require in it, which is exceptional in a holiday home. This well renovated & clean house is of a very good size and can easily sleep and house 8 without a squeeze. The owners description is very accurate. Bed linens provided and were modern and very well pressed. Even my little 4 year old had a boys duvet cover which he fell in love with. (its the little touches that count) As there were only 4 of us, he had a wonderful time viewing each room to choose which he´d like to sleep in. The living room is also huge and contains a few childrens games and quite a lot of little childrens books which is helpful to know in advance.

Plenty of room for parking at least 3 cars and a lovely outdoor seating area with a barbeque.

Lovely beach and very flat so very good for toddlers or small children who can´t swim. Hunstanton is also not far away for more beach activities and ice creams etc

The owner bent over backwards to help us, and answered our every call / email and was always friendly.

The only drawbacks we found were that the property is directly on the main road, which although bearable, creates a bit of noise if you´re not used to it. The bedrooms are also quite light at night (children may not like this), and from one upstairs bedroom you can hear the neighbour quite a lot as their room is beneath this. These drawbacks are really only if you want to be FUSSY as nothing is ever 100% perfect.

Note that if the tide is in, then the main road to and from the beach is flooded (impassable) for at least an hour. Nothing detracting from the property - just helpful to know, and if you have little children(with pram!) I would recommend going by car ( Parking GBP 3.50) as this beach road has a few blind corners.

We would definitely RECOMMEND the property and would definitely consider going back again - we had a perfect time there despite the changeable weather.

Family Getaway

Review Submitted: June 23, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
My family and I along with another family and our dogs, 2 in total spend a lovely long weekend at the Old Stores during June 2009. The location of this house was perfect with the beautiful Brancaster beach only 10 mins away. The house itself was fantastic, exceptionally clean, all the rooms were beautiful and the kitchen was fully equipped with all we could possibly need. Luckily for us the weather was wonderful and we ate every meal outside. I would definitely book the Old Stores again. The owner has been fantastic, my only issue was the fact we had to come home!

Great Girly Getaway to Relax

Review Submitted: April 27, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
I visited The Old Stores with 8 of my girlfriends for my birthday weekend - we wanted to get away from normal busy life to somewhere on the coast to chill out! It was perfect for this... the house has been beautifully renovated and is a great size! It was located in a lovely village and 1/2 mile away from a beach - which was a lovely beach too. It isn't a very lively village but is only a bus ride away from Burnham Market ~ perfect for a little bit of shopping and a couple of nice pubs. The house was maintained well, with everything you need in the kitchen if you were to be cooking etc.

The owner has responded quickly to every question that I have asked regarding the area and the property and was always more than helpful. I would definitely recommend this house for either a weekend or a week break in a gorgeous part of England!!! We had a great time....

Just come back from a wonderful stay at the old stores in Brancaster.
The accommodation was well appointed with plenty of space so never felt crowded at any time. The party I was with enjoyed exploring the local area with its wealth of pretty villages and lovely pubs and restaurants. I would recommend this property to any one looking for a relaxing coastal holiday.

we had a lovely time

Review Submitted: March 9, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
the house was just lovely, loads of space for 9 people, and plenty of bowls/plates in the kitchen to allow us to cook and not feel like we needed to keep washing up (the dishwasher was also bliss!)
the beach was quite a walk to get to - but just lovely!
we all loved the style of the house, each room was just lovely and i would have been happy to sleep in any of them!

Half Term Holiday

gorge Reigate, Surrey
Review Submitted: February 27, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My family and another spent a wonderful week in Feb half term at the Beach House. The house was perfect, beautifully but functionally furnished and well equipped. We needed nothing (except my slippers which I forgot!). Although weather not great we got out and about. So much to do and see and not enough time. Cosy evenings spent by a roaring fire with large glass of chilled wine - perfect. I can only imagine how fab this place will be in the warmer weather. The owners recommended some wonderful child friendly pubs with excellent food. There is also a pub close by that provides takeaway pizza which was great for when the Mums felt lazy...... Would and will definitely return.
