Perfect Alternative for Summer Hols

seh1 Northumberland, England
Review Submitted: September 13, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I had never considered the Alps in Summer for a holiday, but this apartment (and Switzerland) was just what we needed after a hectic year. Every morning I woke up first, got the coffee going and sat on the balcony to watch the sun rise over the mountains.

The property is in a perfect location: a few minutes walk from the baths, a supermarket, restaurants and a wonderful cake shop. We drove to Switzerland fully expecting to tour the area, but in fact our car never left the secure car park for the duration of our stay. We found so much to do and not just walking and visiting the baths. Our 15 year old son persuaded us to hire giant scooters from the Torrent Bahnen and ride them down the mountain into Leukerbad. It was the most fun I've had for ages!

The apartment is exceptionally well maintained and equipped. Most evenings we ate out, but my husband practiced his culinary skills a couple of times and found the kitchen had everything he needed. The beds are really comfortable and the shower powerful, (necessary for relieving muscles after the scooter ride). Daytime temperatures were very warm but nights were cooler, so the underfloor heating was welcome. Instructions on how to use the washing/drying facilities were invaluable; in fact all information provided by the owners is clear and concise.

I will definitely go back to this apartment and have already recommended it to friends.

Rejuvenation for Body and Mind

Leukerbad has all you need whether looking for re-energising or just chilling.
There is so much to do. We have visited twice both in winter months. There is excellent cross country skiing and the opportunity to chat with other skiers. I met a gentleman from Bern who skis there 3/4 times over the winter. The alpine skiing also was good and the Ski school guide was very helpful and showed us the ropes on our first trip out.
We can recommend the cheese shop out towards the Gemmebahn and definitely visit The Prosseco Stop after a day on the slopes or walking. The Leukerbad Hotel is great for evening cocktails, but I would give the restaurant across the way a miss. It was quite expensive and the service very slow. The thermal pool is just sheer bliss, there's nothing quite like being pummelled by water jets in warm water whilst it is snowing on your face.
The Ambassador apartments are luxurious and very well appointed. No 11 where we stayed is homely with a well equipped kitchen. No need to take a cheese grater! There is a wood burning stove so cosy evenings in with a bottle of wine is great. The beds are really comfortable and the temperature for sleeping just right. the under floor heating is great if you have cold feet like me.
The Wellness centre and gym are very well equipped and at the end of a day walking or skiing ideal for relaxing and getting all the aches out of the muscles.
The ski room where you keep all your equipment is very accessible. The appartments are clean with a wonderful atmosphere.
I can really recommend a visit. I want to go back during the summer as there are loads of walking routes and Prosseco is just as good in the summer!

Great place!

This is a lovely apartment for a holiday and we would thoroughly recommend it. It is beautifully furnished, well-equipped, clean and quiet. I loved the views out onto the mountains from the breakfast table! The in-house spa offers welcome relaxation at the end of a day on the mountains walking or skiing. The apartment's location is very good - equidistant from the supermarket, thermal baths and skilift. We enjoyed excellent skiing and winter walking both at high altitude and in the valley. The owner's customer service was excellent - weather reports before we left, clear directions from the airport and thoughtful visitors information guide on the area and its attractions and facilities. We loved it!

Fantastic Place

Review Submitted: May 12, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
This apartment exceeded expectations. It is in a wonderful, peaceful location close to all the conveniences. It was extremely clean and very welcoming to guests - we felt right at home the moment we walked in. You could tell that the owners took much pride in their place and really cared that you had a comfortable time with all that you needed. The communication and service by the owner was wonderful and they even provided a notebook with a lot of information about the apartment and Leukerbad, which was very helpful. I would highly recommend, and have, to friends.

Christmas 2008 in Residenz Ambassador

JMHP Hexham, Northumberland, UK
Review Submitted: May 5, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
we spent christmas 2008 in this apartment and had a glorious time. The location is absolutely stunning with uninterrupted views over the mountains, a balcony that catches the sun even in the middle of winter and ski lifts within five minutes walk. The apartment is beautifully designed with everything you need, and the stunning spa is three minutes wallk away. I would recommend it highly, and I am a very picky critical holiday maker!
