Good Holiday - Booked to go back again next year!!

Review Submitted: July 2, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Well where do I start! Playa Blanca really does offer the best of both worlds, whether you prefer to lounge around the complex’s pool, take a short stroll to the beautiful Marina or go further a field and take a short taxi ride into Puerto Del Carman and experience the lively nightlife, it is no surprise why this resort is ideal for both families and singles alike.

I went to Playa Blanca back in March of this year with two of my friends; we enjoyed it so much that we have booked to go back again next year. The villa itself is incredible; it has everything you need from a hair dryer to a washing machine and an iron and ironing board. It has three good size bedrooms and three bathrooms so we had a bathroom each. The terrace leading out from the lounge area is huge; it was so nice to have breakfast out there in the mornings. Furthermore the master bedroom has a good size balcony, which again it was nice to sit out at the night and have a drink or three before going for our evening meal. The pool is a good size; it is very clean and well maintained.

The marina is approximately a 5-minute walk. Here you will find a variety of restaurants which serve a selection of dishes whether it be Mexican, Italian, English or local Spanish cuisine. You really are spoilt for choice. After your evening meal you can enjoy a drink in one of the pubs/bars where you can benefit from live music from one of the local bands.

The marina is just as impressive in the day as it is at the night. The beaches there are lovely, they are so clean and cared for, and the sea is very welcoming especially on those practically hot days. There are a number of recreational actives that you can take part in such as golfing, biking, jet skiing and boating. We personally decided to have a lazy holiday and spend ours days around the pool or at the beach! All excursion leave from the Marina, there are many you can go on, from a boat ride to fuerteventura, a coach ride to one of the volcanic mountains or a camel ride through the sand dunes.

Playa Blanca really is an excellent holiday resort. We personally had a superb time, and would totally recommend this destination and villa.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for taking the time to write this excellent review.I am so pleased that you enjoyed the Villa as well as the Marina and Playa Blanca Town with it's many attractions. I agree that Puerto Del Carmen has a lively night life and as you say just a short taxi drive away.
Thank you for your repeat booking.

Excellent Villa and Location

Review Submitted: November 28, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We stayed at the villa at the end of October 2009 and had a wonderful time.

The villa itself is very modern in decor and spacious. It has all the facilities you need tv, washing machine etc. and is very clean.

The location is quiet and close to the new Marina which has a good range of restaurants and shops.

I would recommend hiring a car to visit the nearby beaches of papagayo and the island.

Overall and excellent place to stay in a great location we would definitely stay again.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. Although the complex where the Villa is situated is peaceful it is only a few minutes walk to the pretty Marina and 15 minutes walk to the bustling and busy town of Playa Blanca.
The Papagayo beaches can be reached on foot as well as by car but I agree that in order to reach the further ones a car does make the journey easier, however you could walk along the promenade and over the hill to the first beach in around 20 minutes. I am really pleased that you had a wonderful time and I look forward to hearing from you regarding your next booking.

Totally relaxed from 15-22 October 2009

Review Submitted: November 2, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Our family stayed at Marina Rubicon between 15 and 22 October 2009 and it was our first vist to Lanzarote. On arriving late in the evening I was immediately struck with the cleanliness of the villa which was only a 30 minute or so drive from the airport.

Initailly on arrival we had some concern that it was not as close to the pool as we had imagined from the photos (having initially booked with the intention that our 3 kids aged 7,7 and 5 would all have been able to go in and out of the pool with us being able to supervise from the villa). As it happened this did not become an issue as basically we spent most of the days on the local beaches and used the pool late afternoon which itself is beautiful. Amazingly we appeared to be the only people there and had the pool to ourselves which was great !

The villa itself is very new and occupies a corner plot with a lovely large patio area on which you can sit and watch the sun go down over Playa Blanca (we enjoyed a few G and T's doing that !).

There is also easy access to Rubicon Marina and Playa Blanca via a paved coastal path.

Rubicon Marina is a lovely upmarket Marina with some excellent restaurants and impressive yatchs.

We found everyone extremely friendly and Brett who was our local contact and lived nearby introduced himself early on but let ourselves get on with it and we just conatcted him for local information as required.

Having explored some of the rest of the island I have no doubt that Playa Blanca is the nicest part and far quieter and less built up than the nearer resorts just up north coast. That said Famara Beach on the north west coast was a surfers paradise !

Penny, the owner was excellent to deal with and sent clear instructions and directions.

We returned home feeling totally refreshed and have booked again for next year and have recommended the property to a number of friends.

Penny very helpful answering our few queries when we booked. We had a really great week staying in the Villa. Very well appointed and furnished - clean and lights left on for our late arrival! Complex is quite new and few of the other villas were occupied so we had things pretty much to ourselves. Pool was clean, warm and a decent size.

We spent most days at Playa Dorada Beach, lovely clear water and loads of fish to see if you snorkle out around the rocks. It is only about 20 minutes walk from villa, though we had a car so drove it in a couple of minutes.

Marina area close by and easy walk with good range of restaurants and fish to feed! It has a couple of handy supermarkets as well.

We like the promenade restaurants in the town area - recommend Typico Canario & and Indian called Spices I think. Jungle Bar and Cafe Europa good for lunch snacks by Dorada Beach.

Although a car is not required we were glad we had one as young children probably won't want to walk everywhere (or ours didn't!). Car Hire very reasonable, there were six of us it only cost approx €40 more to rent a 7 seater MPV for a week than it would have cost for 2 taxis to & from airport. Used Cabrera Medina - reserved online and they have an office where you collect luggage at the airport so we had Car Keys before our suitcases came round the carousel!

Having the car gave us a chance to explore the Island more - only ventured out once this time to Surf beaches at Famara but have been round Timanfaya & Cactus Garden on previous visits. Still need to do Camel Trekking!

Hope to return again and would not hesitate to use this villa again.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for writing this lovely review.I am so pleased that you and your family enjoyed the Villa and its location so much. As you have pointed out there are plenty of things to do and see for children of all ages or indeed adults in the the Rubicon Marina, Playa Blanca and Lanzarote itself. It is a very easy Island to get around with many buses being available as well as good quality car hire. I look forward to your future booking which as a repeat guest will attract a discount.

10 days of peace and sunshine

Glenny Lancashire
Review Submitted: May 5, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
My wife and I had 10 fabulous days at this beautiful villa in March 09 to celebrate my wifes birthday.
The first few days the weather was unusually mixed but it gave us the opportunity to drive around the island and take in some spectacular waves breaking against the rocks on the west of the island.
After this though the weather was excellent and there is plenty of space to sunbathe around the property, and only a short stroll into the kitchen for an ice cold San Miguel!
We were spoilt, being only 2 of us in such a large property, but you could easily share with 2 other couples as there are 3 good sized bedrooms 1 ensuite and 2 with a bathroom nextdoor. The kitchen is well fitted and we ate in few nights.
The Rubicon Marina is only a short stroll away and there is lots of choice - we enjoyed eating at Lani's where you are sat literally over the water, you can sit and watch the fish eating any unwanted bread.
A bit further on is Playa Blanca itself more commercialized but great for shopping and wandering down the promenade with a huge choice of restaurants and bars.
We will definitely be going back as there is something for everyone and the accommodation is superb!

Owner's Response: Thank you for submitting this review and I am pleased that you had such a lovely holiday especially as it was your wife's birthday. As the villa is so close to the Marina, it does make it the perfect location for a holiday and the magnificant sea views, especially from the balcony of the Master Bedroom, are indeed stunning.
The 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms do, as you say, make this an ideal holiday villa for either 3 couples or maybe 2 families with children or a combination of people as the Villa comfortably sleeps 8 with enough bathrooms for everyone!

Our stay at Marina Rubicon Villa

truffle Essex, England
Review Submitted: April 19, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
The Villa is situated on the edge of the complex which means you have great views and also lots of space around the side of the property so you don't feel penned in at all. The inside of the villa is perfect and really nicely presented with a great dining/lounge area and a very well equiped kitchen. The property was very clean and well maintained I would certainly recommend it. However, one of the best things about the villa is the fact that each bedroom has it's own bathroom/shower so if 3 couples are sharing you have your own facillities which obviously makes for a more comfortable stay. The pool area is also lovely. The villa is just a short walk from the marina so a good selection of restuarants are just a few minutes away, we really enjoyed eating out at the marina on a number of nights....Bar One is also a great spot for drink. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much so we have already booked for 2010!

Owner's Response: Many thanks for submtting such a positive review and I have to agree with you that the Villa is in a great location being just a stone's throw from the seafront and with the Rubicon Marina being just a few minutes walk away.
It is indeed more relaxing and pleasant to have 3 bathrooms, one for each of the 3 bedrooms.
Thanks for booking again for next March 2010 and I am sure that you will again enjoy your stay .
