Fabulous and convenient

My sister and I spent four days in this absolutely lovely apartment. The location was perfect - very close to the entrance gate of this charming walled city - and withing easy walking distance of everything in Lucca. There were so many restaurants, shops, cafes and points of interest; we were barely able to scratch the surface! Great shopping for leather products, in particular. Don't miss the wonderful small food shops and the heavenly chocolate shop on the same street as the apartment! Walking or biking on top of the beautiful wall surrounding the city is a must! A 15 minute walk gets you to the train station, which in turn, will get you most anywhere you'd like to visit.

We'd love to return sometime and stay longer than four days! (Maybe even bring our husbands!)

Wonderful

The apartment is as pictured. It was large, clean, comfortable and well located. We had one day of rain and umbrellas were available. The owners met us as scheduled and could not have been more helpful and cooperative. The restaurant we enjoyed the most was Da Francesco's and a small trattoria across the street and towards the entrance to town that had a wonderful apple tart. One day I hope to return, there was more to see than three nights allowed.

Perfect apartment for short break in Lucca

Review Submitted: September 30, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We have just returned from a lovely short break in Lucca. The apartment is in a fantastic location a very short walk from the bus station and the walls of Lucca. There are numerous restaurants and coffee shops surrounding the apartment. Suprisingly there is very little noise in the apartment as it overlooks a quiet courtyard and not the busy street.
The owners are very friendly and welcoming and were incredibly helpful when one of our suitcases went missing at the airport, taking phonecalls and arranging delivery etc.
We have been to Lucca 5 times now and this is the first time we have stayed within the walls, next time we will definitely come back here to stay!

Ideal centre location

We found this apartment ideal for holidaying in Lucca. Its location is perfect being two mintes walk from the centre and the walls of the city.
The property itself is immaculate, pristine clean and very well-maintained with all the facilities you could need in a self-catering apartment. The photographs give a very accurate idea of the apartment.
The owners could not be more helpful without being intrusive in any way and offered very helpful advice on where to eat out etc.
We had a wonderful time just sight-seeing in the city and eating in restaurants.

Excellent week in Lucca

Our expectations were fulfilled in all ways! This appartment had an excellent location inside "the walls" - and just outside the door we had this fascinating city of Lucca. We did not miss anything in this lovely appartment. During the day we went out exploring Lucca and Tuscany and in the evening we enjoyed eating and drinking on the quiet terrace. One thing for visitors enjoying homemade food - there is no big grocery store inside the walls. Look for Esselunga in Viale Del Prete Carlo just outside the walls - they had everything. We found bakery and other small shops on the inside. And if you come to Lucca during the Summer Festival - the concert arena is also nearby. We had a great week in Lucca !

The Perfect Apartment !

The apartment was a true gem! It was sunny, quiet, comfortable and having a little terrace deck was great. The apartment is beautiful decorated and furnished with quality belongings. The location was ideal with the best little food, chocolate, bakery and fashion stores just outside the door in one direction and the beautiful wall in the other. Nick and Maryanne, the owners, are fabulous. Incredibly welcoming, kind and helpful with everything. A highlight to my visit ! It felt like home and I look forward to being back.

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful city

This is a very comfortable apartment - the double bed is wonderful! - and is extremely well-equipped. It's beautifully furnished, charmingly laid out and in a very convenient location. The owners are lovely people and will help with lots of information at the beginning of your stay. Lucca's old walled centre is not very big, and this apartment is within the walls, on a street with many useful shops and near the square, yet set back within its building so that street noise is minimised; the whole of Lucca is easily accessed, either on foot or by bicycle (available for rent in various locations around the city). The terrace has a very pretty view of old Luccan houses and gardens. There are stairs up to the apartment, as it's on the second floor, but they are wide and stable. we had a lovely stay there - we'll certainly be back and next time bring our friends.
