A trip before the wedding

Turn Right Leicestershire
Review Submitted: July 20, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My wife and I decide to take another trip to this beautiful holiday home. We visited the place back in May and loved the place that much we decided to come again. This time we drove down and stopped off at several places, enjoying the beautiful countryside that France has to offer.

We had arranged for this break to have a chef provided for several nights of our stay. This made the break far more enjoyable for we were able to visit several places then come back to a lovely meal on the terrace over looking the pool/garden and watching the magnificent sight of the sun setting. We sat there to the late hours enjoying good food and wine.

Villa Les Vignes, Gasparets

Stoke Family Stoke-On-Trent
Review Submitted: June 7, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
I stayed at Villa Les Vignes for 2 weeks in May. There was 7 of us in our party, including my partner and our 8 year old son. All of us loved this villa and have had a fabulous 2 weeks, could all have stayed much longer.

The villa was very spacious and had everything we could wish for. We all had our own bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and our room in particular was huge with a brand new ensuite, and the most amazing views as far as the eye could see(we were in 1 of the 2 upstairs bedrooms). The large lounge comfortably sat all 7 of us and had 4 sets of french windows out to the gardens with views over the vineyards. Sky TV was fab and it was great being able to watch all our usual TV programmes from home. The kitchen was enormous with everything we needed included an icemaker and ice cold water on tap which we used regularly. The office was a nice surprise and was particularly great for me as it meant I could check my emails-there is a laptop which is connected to the internet. I could go on! The villa was also beautifully clean!

The kitchen led out to the patio and it is here that we ate almost every meal. The patio again is spacious and looks out over the lovely pool and pool area ,and the beautiful landscaped gardens. My little boy went in the pool every day.Towards the end of our holiday we were getting temperatures as high as 30degrees so it was refreshing to take a dip.One of the highlights for me was the amazing view over the vineyards. The villa is surrounded by them for as far as the eye can see. Also the landscape is covered in poppies and all you can see is a mass of red, it's so beautiful! In the evening we would sit until late at night and watch the amazing sunsets. The village close by, Gasparets, is very pretty. We had cars so were able to visit the very, impressive Carcassonne and also Narbonne several times. I would recommend a visit to Lagrasse and its abbey, very pretty! We also went to the famous mountain top "Rennes Le Chateau" and took the mountain route to it, the scenery is breathtaking!I could go on and on about this wonderful place! I have travelled all over the world and yet I can truthfully say I have never been to a place more beautiful, where myself and the other members truly did not want to leave! I still miss the view and the sunsets, and how laid back it all made me feel. I am so grateful that I have been allowed to savour this perfect place and it will forever remain dear in my heart!! Thankyou!

My wife and I, with two good friends stayed at this lovely villa for one week and have to say we have fallen in love with the place, the area, the wines!! and the food. Our week was spent visiting the local area, which included seeing the castle at Carcassonne (a place to visit) taking a train ride through the beautiful countryside at Collioure and relaxing on the beautiful beach at Narbonne-Plage.

Although we spent several days seeing other places nearby, the villa was also a beautiful place to relax at. The gardens over look the country side, which is breath taking! You can sit outside during the day and evenings, relaxing on the balcony over looking the pool whilst drinking a glass of local wine. If you feel like have a dip in the pool then do so, its lovely.

This is a place a place for anyone to enjoy.

I look forward to going back and spending several more days there. The only downside to the holiday was we had to leave and come home to the UK.

Relaxing break

My fiancee and I have stayed at this lovely villa a couple of times. It is perfect for a quiet, relaxing break - a million miles away from hectic life in London! We enjoyed going for runs around the vineyards which encircle the property. We also went rollerblading and swimming in the sea at Narbonne Plage. But mainly we spent our time sunbathing by the private pool and enjoying lunches and dinners on the rear balcony overlooking the pool - not to mention trying the many local wines. It was particularly nice to be able to do what you want without being disturbed by anyone.

If you are slightly more adventurous I would recommend kayaking on the river Orb at Roquebrun which is about 1 hour's drive from the villa. You can do most distances from 5km to 15km. They drop you off up river and let you kayak back to the start. It is suitable for children and people of all abilities. It is a great way to see the Languedoc countryside (and to burn off some of that French food!).

The villa also has Sky TV so you can stay in touch with what is going on in the rest of the world - or you can just turn it off and enjoy the weather!

We will certainly be coming back at some stage this year.

Returned to this spacious, luxurious property for a second visit in October. Situated on the edge of a small village, it enjoys outstanding views of the surrounding countryside and provided us with a relaxed holiday when we could enjoy the pool, the sunshine and the area. Looking forward to another visit we have planned.

Our holiday

My wife and I spent 2 weeks at this delightful villa, and it was all we wished for. It was homely, well furnished, well equipped, and to be honest I would be hard pressed to find any faults, If I want to be 'picky' I would like the pool to be heated, but thats because I'm soft, my wife had no problem. The views were stunning, We had no problem finding places and driving was easy, we travelled out to Carcassone, 'a must' and we went to Narbonne Plage, and to Couillere, delightful, but to be honest just to sit and relax and unwind was in itself just wonderful, I have recommended this villa to my friends, and one of them in the USA is more than interested, I have given it '5 stars' but it deserves more. My advice is book it, you will not be disappointed. Thank you.

A perfect retreat in a perfect location

The Flintstones Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK
Review Submitted: January 11, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
We enjoyed 2 weeks of peace and relaxation in this beautiful ‘home from home’ villa aptly named “Les Vignes” nestled within the tranquil landscape of grape vines as far as the eye can see. The villa is spacious, comfortable, light and airy and furnished with every home comfort you can think of to a very high standard. We spent many hot sunny days swimming or lazing beside the good sized, extremely private and well maintained pool within the large, attractive Mediterranean gardens. We loved the choice of patio overlooking the gardens or the cosy intimate courtyard for eating or quiet reflection with a glass or 3 of the very pleasant local Vin de Gasparets! It is an excellent location for walking, running or cycling or a short drive takes you to several towns and cities of historical or shopping interest, coastal resorts or one of the many small villages offering a range of friendly restaurants along the Midi canal. As such a car is essential to make the most of the location and if you can cope with the drive through France you could avoid our only disappointment of the holiday which was the rigorously enforced inadequate flight baggage allowance which prohibited carriage of the lovely local wines home!! All in all we had a super holiday at “Les Vignes” which we certainly hope to repeat again in the very near future.
