We've just come back from a long weekend stay in Waterhead cottage and everything was absolutely perfect. The cottage was beautifully decorated to a really high standard with lovely attention to detail and plenty of room for 7 of us. The property is right next to the picturesque lake and a pleasant 10 mins walk from Ambleside. Lynn was really helpful with all queries answered promptly. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

We have just spent a wonderful weekend at the cottage and had a really great time. It was absolutely perfect for us (4 couples and a toddler) as there are 3 bathrooms(great power showers) and plenty of space. The cottage is beautifully decorated and none of us wanted to leave. Everything we needed was provided, even Sky sports and a Wii, and I have no doubt we will be going back because we had so much fun. We would definitely recommend it.
Only things to note if they are important to you is that there is, at most, only parking for 2 cars (this was a VERY tight squeeze) and also the bedrooms at the front are on a busy and therefore noisy road so not countryside tranquility (although you can see sheep!!). If you don't care about those two things then it's perfect.

From the minute we walked in to the last minute when we didn't want to walk out, we enjoyed everything this cottage had to offer. We spent 2 weeks here and had 6 to 8 people in the cottage on any one day. Plenty big enough and the quality of the cottage decor and facilities were everything its website said it was. Full Sky package and WII was a great plus for our teenagers. Location was excellent being so close to the waterhead ferry and sailings, plus shops and cafes were close by. Just 10 mins walk to town and if you hadn't the energy, the buses stopped close by and every 15 mins. The owners are extremely helpful and very keen to ensure all was OK with your stay. We took our little dog and there was even an excellent pet shop in the next block. I could write a few chapters on this, but the best way is to try it out for yourself.

The location of this cottage was fantastic, it was great to be situated so close to the pier but only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Ambleside. The views of the Lake from the Pier were stunning and the boat trips relatively inexpensive for a family. The cottage itself catered for all our needs , extremely comfortable and well decorated and could have easily accomodated two families. All the little extras such as the WII and Sky TV made bad weather days more fun!!!

What a fantastic cottage, this really is luxurious.
The quality of the decor and amenities is top notch and make staying at this cottage a pleasure.
Its location is great, close to the lake and local facilities.

Waterhead cottage was the perfect location for myself and friends (3 couples and a toddler in total) to celebrate my 30th birthday. The cottage was everything it promised in the description and was a real treat! Lynn (the owner) met us at the property and couldn't have been more helpful, we were the first people to stay at the cottage and she was worried there may be some teething problems but she needn't have worried. The cottage wasn't completly finished but it was minor details and most certainly didnt detract from the overall standard of the cottage. The location was perfect we were seconds away from Lake Windermere and access to boat trips around the Lake. We were also close to cafe's and shops and within a 10 min walk from Ambleside which had lots of lovely shops and restaurants, we ate at the Log House restaurant which was stunning, I would highly recommend it. Lynn was great, we had speedy replies to our enquires and she even provided us with a cot and a high chair which saved a lot of room in the car. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again soon.
