Lovely house with a breathtaking view.

We stayed at this property over September and it was a fabulous break. Cappadocia is a fabulous area with lots to do and this house in the centre of Goreme is the ideal spot to visit the sights, horse ride, walk, etc.
The property itself has been lovingly restored and each room has its own unique character and features that made choosing which bedroom to use a welcome challenge. The property has fabulous views from the terrace and roof terrace and with a well equipped kitchen it was enjoyable to cater for yourself some nights while watching the sunset.
Facilities wise there was plentiful hot water in the property and it was immaculately cleaned with lovely modern bathrooms and enough seating that we didn't actually manage to use them all over our week there.
Goreme itself is ideally set-up as a holiday base and contains plenty of decent restaurants meaning that you could eat in a different place every night before wandering to the local cafe for wonderful baclava.
In conclusion I would definitely recommend the porperty to others. A lovely property in a fabulous area.

Carefully restored Cave House

CH Families Switzerland
Review Submitted: October 22, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We were just surprised to find such a beautiful and carefully restored Cave House. Everything was like on the pictures od even better. Weather in October was so lovely, that we couldn't really benefit from the charming living room on the top floor. We always stayed outside on the terrace. Our children loved the house too.
The table on the terrace is a little bit too small for 8 people, wheras the house has space for 9 Persons easily (we were there with two families). Might be a good idea to provide an additional small table, which could be folded.
Thanks very much for this beautiful house in this unique environment!

Brilliant holiday in Cappadocia

We spent a week at the Goreme Cave House in August 2009. The house itself was great, restored with real style and care it provided very comfortable accommodation for 4 adults and 6 teens, the split levels, terraces and cool 'cave' rooms giving a great sense of space.
The location in Goreme, a charming village with a kind of Northern Californian vibe, was perfect for exploring Cappadocia and its incredible sites and landscape. If you're thinking of going to Cappadocia then Goreme Cave House would be a very good base.

Cave house with contemporary amenities

Varaz Montreal, Canada
Review Submitted: August 20, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We stayed at Ian's House in early July 2009, and were quite happy with our stay. The rooms were authentically restored and tastefully decorated, and the amenities were contemporary. From the top floor, day or night we had views over Göreme. At night, for several hours we heard the amplified music from the gazino's in the distance, occasionally interrupted by the call to prayer, which we thought were emblematic of the land. Parking was about 50 meters away, and the friendly outdoor market of local produce 200 meters downhill. We went several times to the Kelebek Cave Hotel restaurant and pool, which were practically part of the same cluster of buildings but still a walk of almost 200 meters through narrow hillside streets. Cave house dwellers should not complain about tiny bits of rock falling from the ceiling, but we thought the only picnic table on the upper terrace that was sweating super-sticky tree resin (thus, essentially unusable) was perhaps a bit too rustic.

Owner's Response: We have taken the information about the table onboard and have passed it on to our local representative to look at a fix.
Having returned from a trip in Sep 09 and talking to other renters we are confused about the Gazinos and actually believe this music was from a local wedding, A traditional 3 day event which looks to have conicided with this booking.
Also for any one who is thinking Turkey shuts down for Ramadan / Ramazan, We found all local amminities to be open as usual

I was amongst a group of motorcyclists visiting Goreme who stayed here in great comfort. It's quite different to sleep in a room carved out of rock but how cool, literally.Convenient to the town and restaurants it was clean with ample hot water, quiet and peaceful.I highly recommend this as a great place to explore Cappadocia from. Owner's Response: We would like to thank the mare nostrum charity motorcycle team for choosing Goreme Cave House when visiting the UNESCO world heritage sites around the Mediterranean and enjoyed tracking their progress on the web. We wish them every success in their efforts for charity and any future trips they take.

Turkish Delight

Review Submitted: January 27, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
The property is a superbly renovated traditional cave house offering spacious, well appointed accommodation and tastefully decorated. The website accurately describes the house which was clean and tidy on our arrival. The views from the lounge are amazing and you must get up early in the morning to watch the balloons drift-by from the terrace. The house is situated in a quite cul-de-sac within a couple of minute's walk of the centre of Goreme.
Goreme is a delightful village with plenty of restaurants and the locals are friendly and helpful. We took the opportunity to sample some of the attractions available and would strongly recommend a balloon ride and a visit to an underground city.
A unique experience in a spectacular part of the world - not to be missed.
