Property Review - Brompton Park Cresent

Review Submitted: October 26, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
My family stayed at this apartment for three weeks from 16th September 2009 to 6th October 2009 - we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and without doubt the key advantage for us was the location - infact it turned out to be better than we had expected as it was very close ( 3-5 minutes walk max ) to a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs, local public transport as well as access to Central London and mainline train stations. Our vacation benefitted from an extremely dry period of London weather which meant my wife and young daughter were able to take full advantage of the outside dining facilities at the nearby pubs and restaurants - all these venues were within walking distance and we did not encounter any problems walking home late at night .
The description of the apartment and facilities was very accurate and we were not disappointed by any aspect when we arrived - we did not hire a car during our stay but parking was available and the apartment had fully functioning equipment and accessories - we were a little worried about marking the wooden floor as it is very light coloured, but infact normal marks from shoes and luggage etc were removed without any problem.
Any negatives ?? - none of any real note. I think GBP 500-00 damage deposit was a little steep but in fairness to the owners this was returned to us in full, in cash on departure, without any fuss. A few more towels and sheets would have been nice especially for longer stays, but what we had were adequate and we did not feel compelled to ask for more.
A final point for those with young families - the owners recommended two babysitters to us - we used both of them just once each but they were both very good and looked after our daughter with care and enthusiasm and were reasonably priced for London.
Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would recommend the apartment to other visitors - probably best for two couples together or a couple with young family.
Finally the owners were very helpful when required but were not in any way intrusive - we were greeted on arrival and had the apartment explained to us as well as shops and local area - equally we knew that the owners were available if we needed any assistance or advice. We were also invited on a boat trip but were not able to make it due to other commitments.
We take this opportunity to thank the owners and we would definitely like to stay again on our next trip to London.
Owner's Response: We were delighted to meet your family. We take on board the high deposit, which we return promptly on the departure of the tenant. This has never been a problem but you can understand that it is a high value property, and we cannot take risks with people we have never met before. We have been very fortunate so far with our tenants, but we have to protect ourselves against the possibility, however slight, of damage being caused,

Don't hesitate to book

Review Submitted: October 2, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This was a great holiday home. We stayed with our 3 children over the August bank holiday. The hosts were away which delayed some essential maintenance works being completed but this did not detract from our stay. The apartment is very well located near to Earls Court on a regular bus link to the City Centre. The gardens around the apartment make you feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, which is great when you have young children. It is a safe, secure setting with convenient parking. The apartment is spacious by London standards.
Owner's Response: We would like to point out that the matter of 'essential maintenance' was simply a door that the previous tenant had somehow managed to unhinge. Sadly as landlords we have to trust a departing tenant when he says that no damage has been done to the property - especially as we do not believe on holding on to the deposit for a period long enough to do a minute check of the property. This small problem was not detected when the previous tenant was checked out, nor by the cleaners.
We returned from holiday on day 2 and immediately rectified the small repair.
We try our utmost to give all our tenants a comfortable time and try and cater to their specific requirements.

vacanze indimenticabili

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to meet your family. We are delighted that you had such a happy time in our flat.

Great London base

Review Submitted: August 2, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We stayed here with 2 adults and 2 teenage children for 1.5 weeks in summer 2009. The flat was ideal for our needs (each child had their own "bedroom" with one sleeping on a fold out sofa in the living room) and was clean and well presented. It is set in quiet garden surroundings with a security gate so feels like a safe haven in busy London.

The bathrooms are a good size and the kitchen is well equipped and has a small breakfast bar to sit at.

There are a choice of 3 tube stations all within a short walk, and there is also an overground station at West Brompton and good bus routes nearby. There are also many options for food shopping and dining out at Fulhmam Broadway, only a 5-10 minute walk away.

The owners were very pleasant and good to deal with and provided support for us to get organised with initial shopping needs. They were also flexible with our leaving times on our last day.

I would recommend this flat highly for its size and good location and would definitely stay there again on another trip.

pied a terre

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely flat. It is set in beautiful quiet gardens with CCTV. It was immaculate and comfortable with lots of clean towels and linen, and close to public transport - we loved returning after a days sightseeing to the comfort and peace of this flat. We were also fortunate enough to avail of the offer of the boat trip along the river Thames which was quite the most amazing experience. We got to see a view of London from the river and to fit it in around our busy schedule.

The owners are exceedingly polite and helpful welcomed us with a hamper of immediate necessities. They had also supplied us with DVD's and books to keep us amused when in the flat. They were easy to contact and thoroughly approachable. After having heard of horror stories - like deposits not being repaid, and landlords not returning phone - calls, we were very pleasantly surprised. We would certainly like to return again. In fact, in this economy, it is a great place for a company /corporation to use as a pied a terre for its executives on their business trips as well.

Of my travel experiences all over the world , this was the very best. We stayed here for a month in summer . Very clean and comfortable, quick and easy acess to transportation , convenient car park , modern kitchen , great relaxation in the evenings with a flat screen tv when not dining out. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a taste for good living on holiday or business for either short or long term rental.
cons (if you must ) a friendly host who is ready to chat with you .
