Great holidays at El Capistrano, Nerja

We had a great time in Nerja. The villa is excellent and suited all our needs (a family with a teenager). The surroundings are very beautiful and tranquil. The residential area is very well kept and looked after. The villa is ideally located in a peaceful setting while not too far from the beach and the picturesque town centre (20 min walk). We particularly liked having the choice of spending a quiet evening at the villa or joining the vibrant life of the town centre.

John & Sheila, plus 2 friends

For two couples, now rather older than middle aged when we first visited Capistrano, (at least 8 years ago) this has become an addiction.
The villa lives up to it's description, the peace and quiet, with no traffic on site, is a blessing. The surrounding gardens and pathways are a joy, the flowers, trees and shrubs delight tha eye.
There are many beautiful and varied walks, our first choice is to Maro, a small village where we can enjoy a coffe in the shady square (Plaza de la Iglesia) adjacent to the church, and admire the view. Its another short short walk down to the beach, or more demanding, to the tower (Torre de Maro)
Nerja has resisted the excesses of the high rise buildings and over developement, and the old town is delightful. We love to watch the sun go down from the Balcon de Europa, the views are spectacular

Had a lovely time!

El Capistrano is a lovely picturesque white washed village, which never fails to deliver the wow factor. From the typically Spanish styled whitewashed villas to the beautifully tended garden areas, which are a blaze of colour - simply stunning.
We have rented this villa on 2 previous occasions and have just booked again for this year. The villa is comfortably furnished, well equipped and spotlessly clean. We especially like the walled garden, which is quiet and safe - great if you have young children.
If you can drag yourself away from the peace and quiet of the villa and the on site pools we would recommend visits to both Competa and Frigliana - just watch out for those hairpin bends! Also a trip to the Nerja caves is well worthwhile. Closer to home, Burriana beach is approx 15 minute walk away and is an excellent beach with lots of places to eat and drink. It is very relaxed and family orientated. Nerja town is also well worth a visit and also offers plenty of great places to eat. Relax in the square with a tapas and a beer and watch the world go by.

We received plenty of advice and information from the owners of the villa regarding car hire, places to visit, eat etc and would definitely recommend holidaying here.

"We have rented this villa four times and we intend to return as soon as possible. El Capistrano village is a pretty complex of white-washed villas set in secure and beautiful gardens against a mountain backdrop. This clean, comfortable, well-maintained and nicely furnished villa is in a peaceful location in the heart of the village. The restaurants and bars on the site serve good food and drink, reasonably priced, and the pool areas are clean and well-supervised. The centre of Nerja, which is 15 minutes walk away, has an abundance of bars and restaurants and we liked several of the beachside restaurants at nearby Burriana beach. For those who want to stay in and cook, the village shop is well stocked and the Supersol, which is close to the village entrance, is an excellent supermarket, offering a wide selection of fresh vegetables, seafood and meat. The owners of the villa have always provided us with excellent customer service and helpful and friendly advice, and the pages on this site are a fair and honest representation of the villa and surroundings. We have had four enjoyable and relaxing holidays at the villa and we can recommend the property unreservedly."

Holidaying at El Capistrano

Bollboll Macclesfield, Cheshire, England
Review Submitted: February 26, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2008
My wife and I have enjoyed many excellent holidays at El Capistrano - the latest in May 2008.The village is very attractive, peaceful and quiet. The facilities are good with 3 swimming pools, a bar, a restaurant and a well stocked shop. The accomodation is private, comfortable and very well equipped. Nerja itself is within walking distance (25 mins) and there is a regular bus service between the village and the town. There is also much to do and see in the surrounding area. All in all an excellent place for a restful or energetic holiday - or something in between!

Fabulous Holidays in El Capistrano

Review Submitted: February 24, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2008
We have stayed twice at the El Capistrano Villa (wife and me).
The description and facilities were exactly as described, being modern, clean and with nice additional touches thoughtfully provided by the owners,Maureen and Arnold.
The on site pools, retaurants and bars are first class- alternatively, the beach, with restaurants, barbecues, shops and loos, is a nice walk away (1/2 mile or so).
Nerja is also close bywith clubs, shops and the centre of attraction the Balcon de Europa where we enjoyed the general hubub of activity.

A little further afield there is excellent sightseeing.
We would definately recommend the villa to our friends and intend to visit again

if your looking for a relaxing stress free holiday then this is the place to visit.an easy car journey from malaga and easy to find this villa was exactly what we were looking for, quiet, peaceful, laid back holiday away from "package hols". el capistrano is clean well maintained and no hustle and bustle around the village the pool can sometimes be busy but their always seemsto be room to bathe or have a relaxing drink! the best beach(burriani) is 10 mins walk down the hill, again easy to find, as is the main town of nerja with many resteraunts and shops to visit.for those with younger familys their is a waterpark approx 20 mins away back towards malaga (velez-malaga i think!!) which is good fun for all ages (including us 40+ folk!!) if u want to get away from it all yet still have places to visit on your doorstep then this is the place to visit.as for the villa itself a great place to stay with private garden for an evening bbq and glass of wine and english tv channels to keep children entertained.been here twice missed it last year but going again this year and counting the days!!!
