We have just returned from a wonderful week spent in Gib. Myra is a lovely lady who made us feel very welcome, even going as far as making sure there was milk and tea in the apartment on our arrival. Nice touch, thank you Myra.
The apartment was very good. Everything you would need for a very relaxing and pleasant stay, even Sky TV, which meant us Footie mad folk didn't miss our favourite teams whilst away.
The location is great, it's only a few minutes to the square and main street one way and about 5 minutes to Morrisons the other way. Bus stops are virtually a 1 minute walk from the apartment.
We will definitely be visiting again and will be recommending this apartment and lovely land lady to all our friends. Keep up the good work!!!

Great Apartment

we have just come back from a weeks stay in apartment and had a brilliant time. The apartment is just as you see in pictures and is fully equiped with everything you need for a really great holiday. All mod cons in kitchen, comfy sofas and a great shower. Even Sky TV for those quiet moments.
As previous review stated the apartment is in a older block and corridor is a bit tatty but dont be put off, apartment ticks all the boxes for a great stay in Gibraltar. Pool area is great and well maintained.

Also i reckon Ocean Heights is in a great location, only 2 mins from main street and irish town, 5 mins from both the new Ocean Village development and morrisons and only a couple of minutes for bus stops to get you anywhere around the rock. Couldnt be better!

Thanks Myra for a great stay, for being there to meet us on arrival, and for sorting us a taxi out in the morning of our flight home.

We will definately be back next year!

Ocean Heights 2009

Gransue UK
Review Submitted: September 8, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The flat was as described on web-site
Absolutely no cause for any complaint, just the opposite, I was very happy with my little place in the sun.The flat has everything needed, comfy sofas, good bed.A decent kitchen, and plenty wardrobe space.[ Thank you Myra ]

Ocean Heights is an older block of apartments,a little frayed at the edges in the public areas.

The swimming pool area is well maintained and it was nice to spend time there.

A very clean and well equipped apt with the bonus of air conditioning. Plenty of hot water with a good shower and bath. We were very pleased and would definately visit again. We have been to Gib several times and this apt was well above the usual standard. The brand new fridge freezer was very useful as we were there in the height of summer. Myra the owner was very helpful and we would think for first time visitors to the Rock this would be another bonus.

1 week in July 09

Review Submitted: July 14, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
I stayed at this apartment for a week at the beginning of July. Ocean Heights building is very old and a bit shabby but the interior of this apartment was nice. The pool was nice and clean and not too busy, especially in the mornings. The description of the flat was accurate and it was well maintained and clean. The only concern I had was that I couldn't see a smoke alarm anywhere, and the flat itself is on the 5th floor. Myra was very helpful and lives upstairs on the 6th floor should she be needed. The air conditioning was very useful as the weather was very hot. The windows need to be closed at night due to the nearness of the nightlife which revolves around Casemates Square. Friday night was very noisy until around 4am. The apartment was quiet most of the time. One morning I was woken by the neighbours scraping wallpaper off, but that wasn't until about 10am when I would have got up anyway.
Morrisons is just down the road so food shopping is easy. The prices there are a bit higher than the UK. Other things like eating and drinking out are more or less the same prices as here. There is karaoke at the Alls Well in Casemates on Mondays and Wednesdays. The occasional band is on, but not alot happening on the music front that I could find.
As for days out, there are 2 nice beaches, Eastern beach and Western beach.western beach is hidden.Facing border, turn left straight after runway and follow path.Camp Bay, near Europa is quite nice but pebbly. The little cafe there does a wicked pinchitos. I think it was the previous review that mentioned Rosia Bay, which is actually deserted and run down compared to when it was a swimming club years ago.I think they were getting confused with Camp Bay.
If you go to church, I recommend The Bethel Christian fellowship at 47 Queensway which is very welcoming and friendly. They sing in Spanish and English and you get a hug and a kiss from everyone :0)
If you are going over the border, there is nothing to do in La Linea, so you either need a car or a bus to get to any shops. I walked miles just to see blocks of flats and the occasional bar...very boring. I am told there is a big shopping centre there but when I asked the locals they said there wasn't. You can get day excursions to Marbella and Seville etc. The Seville one only goes on Wednesdays so I couldn't go as that was the day I was travelling.
In a nutshell, I would recommend this apartment and I would certainly stay there again if I was going back to Gib.

8 night stay for young family

Ronster Guildford UK
Review Submitted: June 18, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Spent 8 nights in this very comfortable apartment with wife and 1 year old baby. Myra the owner was extremely helpful and provided a baby cot for our little one.

Cannot be faulted.... Recently refurbed flat, perfectly located in the heart of Gib.

Air Con in living area and bedroom to cool you down on sweaty summer days. Decent swimming pool too.

We will be back.

Gibraltar

Review Submitted: May 30, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We enjoyed our stay in the flat very much. It was clean and had a newly fitted kitchen with all the appliances you’d want. The air conditioning was also much appreciated!

We thought the flat had an ideal location, being so close to the town centre with its shops, bars and restaurants It was five minute’s walk from Morrison’s supermarket (which we were delighted to see had all the items you’d get in a British supermarket!). The beaches and airport were easy to get to as well.

We would like to thank Myra, who owns the flat, for being so helpful in many ways, like arranging for our taxi back to the airport.

A very pleasant holiday flat, ideal for staying in Gibraltar (which is just like home, but with the sun!)

Ocean Heights Apartment

Review Submitted: May 9, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We booked the apartment over the internet with Myra the owner, lovely lady x, the apartment was spotless and very comfortable, everything you need is in the apartment. The views from this 5th floor apartment onto the rock are brilliant. You don't need a car, it's so close to all the shops and cafes, including morrisons supermarket. Nowhere is a long walk on Gibraltar really, Ocean village is well worth a visit.Use the bus it's 60pence to anywhere or £1.50 for an all day tkt. A big thankyou to Myra for making our stay a great one. We have recomended this apartment to freinds and family, we will be going back to Gib and hopefully this apartment will be available when we do. Bob & Hazel

Review Submitted: March 18, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We visited on 4th March - 11th March 2009

The Week that Princess Ann visited so that was a bonus.

There is a communal swimming pool

The apartment was a very clean modern one bed on the 5th floor of Ocean heights. It has electric hob, oven, dishwasher and washing machine. It seems the gib people hang their washing out the window to dry but i did need not do that:-)

The building and interior looks old and could do with a lick of paint and new carpets but- it is clean. The majority of tenants seemed to be workers, the building was very quiet when we were there .

We have no young children and were visiting our son. The apartment is just across the road from the Main shoppping street with BHS, M&S, other clothing shops and all the pubs, coffee houses, & restaurants you would need.
Main street is a long street and has lovely government old buildings that remind me of old England and a French town we visited in Brittany. At the end of main street is the botanical gardens (a must visit for me) and then on to the top of the rock for magnificient views of the sea, shipping & everything else!

When you look out of the window there is a view of the parking lot where you park your car. Its a very busy place so sometimes you have to scout around for free parking. There is a multi storey carpark across the road if you need one urgent. It was quiet when we were there. The Gibraltar people use mopeds a lot so I could not say if there would be night noise in the high summer.

Behind that is the Rock of Gibraltar and you can spend ages looking up and down it at the houses and people, their washing hanging out of the windows:-) and the misty cloud that rests on the top now and then .

BEACHES. Eastern beach is a short drive or 10 - 15 minutes walk away.At this time of year its a quiet beach. Another beach is Rosia bay which is very pretty, this is a car drive because its half way up rock through the tunnels. The locals go there for sunbathing and barbecues. Ocean Village does not have a beach but is full of pubs on jettys over the water and runs around the harbour full of boats.

The border is just down the road which gives access into Spain and all their beaches and a big spanish shopping centre at La Linea.
