Eight of us arrived to a fine welcome with barbeque and wine which I had pre arranged with the Owner (Charlie). The accommodation was well designed, comfortable and clean.
We had a great holiday the highlight of which being the landing of a 70lb game fish on Charlie's boat (!)
The "den" by the pool is perect for bbq's and chilling out watching the sunset over this beautiful island.
Would we come back?. In an instant.

My holiday experience in Alicia and Charlies villa was absolutely awsome.. The facilities were great, the house was lovely and big and the fact that there's a pool is really great.. I recomend it to everyone no metter the age or the purpose of their holidays.. Once again thank u Alicia and Charlie my holidays were great parcially thanks to u because of ur kindness and lovely villa.

Comienzo por afirmar que lo que hace un lugar maravilloso, no son solo sus bellos paisajes sino también el factor humano. Madeira tiene ambas cosas, nuestra experiencia fue maravillosa, tuvimos la suerte de hospedarnos en una casa magnífica, con excelentes instalaciones, espacio tanto para niños como para adultos; extremamente limpia y con todas las comodidades. Sus anfitriones Charlie y Alicia, son personas simpáticas y atentas y entienden perfectamente cuales las necesidades de cada cliente. Mi familia y yo los felicitamos. Quedamos encantados con esta isla y planeamos volver.

Can u imagine the best holidays for u?well, i had it for the first time in this beautiful vila.Its just unimaginable and i can only say that our hosts were wonderful, really nice people and helpful.i went with my husband and my 2 kids at the age of 4 and 12 and they really had a blast with the pool and the barbecue area. I've been told that only the lady that u met there is responsible for all the cleaning.I find it hard to believe because the vila is huge and it was always unbelievebly clean. We also went gamefishing , we were not lucky enough to catch one big ficsh but the dolphins and the wales... uau, that was really worth it. I'm definitly going back next year.Big kisses and hugs to Alicia and Charlie and of course, funny Mako.

My holiday experience on this vila was amazing. I loved the pool, the barbecue area was lovely and the bedrooms were really confortable and tidy. I recomend it to anyone with intentions of spending a great time on Madeira island, wich by the way its really beautiful.Best regards to the owners.

We had a lovely time at the Villa,very helpful and relaxed owner,we also went Big Game Fishing on the owners boat called `Savage´ for 3 days and caught a huge Blue Marlin from 850lbs,amazing experience and well worth the money,we have already planned to return next year and bring friends to go fishing,fantastic!

We enjoyed our stay very much,the atmosphere is very relaxing,and the owners were always available and helpful.The pool and barbecue area are fantastic we enjoyed many evenings there.The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and well designed and clean,we will be coming back again next year.nearby fantastic levada walks ,sandy beach and restaurants.

The location of this villa is not 2 km from Calheta, it's more like 5km. We booked it because we were told we could walk to restaurants and the marina but this was not the case.
The villa is lovely, bed linen was fresh and clean, decor looks recently painted. However the rooms all have a stale smell, we couldn't use the wardobes because of it.
The shower in the back room was pathetic and cold for the first two days.
We did not get daily maid service as promised, two clean towels on arrival but had to keep asking for others. When we got them they were obviuosly old beach towels. No clean tea towel in the five days we stayed, we had to keep washing them ourselves.
The outdoor area is a great idea but poorly equipped. You can't have the kettle and oven on together or the fuse blows and all power is lost. The crockery is less than clean and I've seen better on a campsite. The cold water tap produces nothing and the water in the hot tap is always cold. The owner is aware of this but just seems to think its acceptable.
The pool could have been lovely but was not clean the whole time we were there so we couldn't swim in it. The poolside furniture is well past it's best, only one was in a good state of repair.
The villa has been divided in two and the owner stays in the other half. The garden is lovely and private, when you stand and look over the wall you can see the sea.
I would not return to this villa or recommend it to anyone else, the owners' attitude was "laid back horizontal" at best and just not interested in the least.
When we complained he refunded the money for the second week of our holiday so we stayed for 5 nights and then packed up and left.
We wasted precious holiday time considering whether to stay or move and then had to find alternative acommodation.
Due to the villa's situation we knew a car was required, however it sat in the car park for the entire second week since our next hotel was more central which was an expensive we could have avoided.
Madeira itself is a beautiful island with lovely people (our host at the villa was English). The people are friendly and helpful.
We stayed just outside Funchal for the second week in the Melia Madeira Mare Hotel in the Lido area.
